While driving about 3 mph and making a turn onto a side street, the vehicle hit a curb which caused a dent on the left side of the vehicle. Seals around the convertible top leak when driving in heavy rain. Water runs down into the dashboard and causes intermittent electrical problems such as dash lights turning on and off and radio/stereo/cd malfunction. The problem was repaired once by the dealer and the radio/cd unit replaced another time because of leak problems. Now the problem has returned with water on the dash and floorboards and the radio has again malfunctioned.

Whenever it rains or vehicle is washed, water would remain ih door area. Windows would come out of alignment & would remain constantly wet. This would leave an odor of mildew inside vehicle. Been to the dealershipand contacted factory representative. Could not tell what problem was or what was causing it. Mechanic replaced door molding.
Bought car in Nov 1996. About 5 months or so after purchasing the car, the drivers side sun visor can detached from the ceiling. I was told that this is not a covered warranty service. I was told that the threads needed to be redone and that they were stripped. My car only had 16,000 miles on it at this time. So the dealer apparently fixed it. But they didn't. When I put my sun visor down the visor slips out of the plastic holder and flies forward. Sometimes this has almost cost me many accidents. So I leave the visor forward until I can grab it and try to put it back in place and hope it stays. The unit is not fully secure. You can tell by looking at it, that the visor holder was reinstalled, poorly. The visor does not stay locked in place when in use or not in use.

2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a shock rupture due to rust. Consumer states that it is rare that rust in that amount happen on the interior of the vehicle. She states that the manufacturer was not going to investigate her claims. The consumer discovered 3 recalls for her make, model and year for her vehicle. The consumer stated she had already experienced the failures of the recalls. The column switch was replaced because the unit would not self-cancel nor would it cancel manually. The switch would not reset in an off position which caused the lights to remain on once the vehicle had been turned off. The steering wheel vibrated frequently, even when traveling on a straight highway. The consumer also had repeated problems with the engine not starting and always assumed the problem was the battery which the consumer had replaced multiple times. The low oil pressure lamp illuminated frequently, even when the oil was not low. The recall was only for v6 engine's, however the consumer experienced the same problem with her 4 cylinder engine. Recall numbers 99v333001, 99v305001 and 00v225001.
