4 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2010 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 05/15/2015

On several occasions the vehicle has failed to start when the brake was depressed. At the present time the abs light, slip and vdc are now illuminated after driving the car for a few minutes. It is my understanding that this is supposed to blink if there is a problem driving in wet road conditions or it is slippery. I have read numerous complaints from other owners having the same issue with the car not starting. It takes several tries in order to get the car to turnover and start. I believe that Nissan needs to investigate this issue further and issue a recall for these vehicles.

5 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2008 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

Purchase car 2010 abs brake came on all time dealer try to reset abs light it would turn off for few days and come make on they dont no why it doing it :( its 2015 and light still on. 2014 I was on interstate going 65 mph then all sudden my Nissan started losing power fast when I pushed on gas was not reading. Had to pull to side of road and we had checked all fluids and looked for any leaks which all was good. I had gotten and my oil changed before my trip. Sat on side interstate for 20 mins try to restart it started ok just had no power like gas was nit flowing right. Waiting another 10 mins trying again. Finally gain power and was able to get to my destination. Had it checked by shop couldn't fine problem. The car sometime don't turn over on push start and I have to slam down on my break to start it about 5 times took to Nissan dealer said they have no idea why it keeps sticking and not turning over I also had to change my battery 3 times from 2010 to 2014 . Which that's not good. I see all these 2008 Nissans getting recalled then I look athe my car and how much money I had to pay out pocket for the same recalls on other Nissan . Found out exhaust manifold has been recalled on many 2008 Nissans but mine and that is one of problems wrong !.

6 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2010 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 12/16/2012

On Sunday, 12/16/12 evening around 11:15pm, I was driving home from out of town and had to pull over for gas about 45 miles away from the house. I turned off the vehicle and filled up the gas and the car would not start once we were ready to leave. The abs and flip lights would blink and the battery would power up but the car on the push button ignition would not respond which would start the car, I called the towing company and I was charged $173 for towing to the dealer as the mechanic was not able to start the vehicle either. The following morning, I received a call from the dealer stating the brake pedal switch which when pressed with the key fob in the vehicle allows the car to be started when pressing the push button ignition switch; that switch attached to the brake harness had gone bad and I was given a cost of $232. 64 to replace this switch. The dealer stated that he was showing in his system that this switch was redesigned recently and the new redesigned switch which would include replacing the brake pedal harness also would cost me a total of $531. 17 and he stated that he recommends the new redesigned switch over the lesser expensive same type of switch that went bad which would be at risk of going bad again soon. I escalated the issue to Nissan consumer affairs at 1-800-Nissan-1, case #10255931. I requested them to cover the expense as I had exceeded the manufacturers warranty only by 3000 miles and had bought the car brand new in may, 2010. They researched the matter and declined to cover the expense due to a previous brake rotor issue I had escalated to them 3 months after purchasing the vehicle which was a separate issue. I hope no one else is stranded as we were with my wife, my twin 3 year old boys, and myself at 11:30pm at night far away due to a blown out switch which has now been redesigned, I am asking that a recall on this be opened up.

7 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2005 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

The abs system on the vehicle activates at low speeds. Abs light turns on dashboard. Buzzing sound heard from engine bay while abs engages. This causes the vehicle to skid when applying moderate pressure on the brake pedal while at low speed. This can be dangerous because if you are forced to suddenly stop the car will keep moving/skidding forward instead of coming to a quick complete stop. I have no air in my brake lines as I had it professionally bled. I also have new brake pads. And my brake fluid is up to the maximum line in the reservoir and clear. I cleaned all four abs sensors and replaced the one sensor that is common to malfunction on this vehicle. Turns out it is the abs actuator that has to be replaced which is a $1,200+ part from Nissan. This seems to be a very common problem on the 2004-2007 maxima and 2005-2006 Nissan Altima, as per research performed on public forums in reference to the aforementioned vehicles. This is of a major safety concern since the vehicle is not able to stop how it is meant to stop. On the contrary, vehicle feels like it is braking on a road filled with pebbles.
