Air Bag Problems of Nissan Frontier - part 2

Since buying the vehicle new, the airbag light has been on and off throughout the entire time (the vehicle has never been crashed). I have brought it in to multiple dealerships asking for them to take a look at it and have never gotten much feedback other than them resetting it or having replaced wiring due to previous recalls. I was alerted recently of the airbag control unit now needing to be replaced. With Nissan's history of questionable electrical efforts, the component seems like something that may need to be evaluated in some capacity.

Passenger airbag warning light on dashboard flashes continually. This indicates it may not deploy in accident. It was taken to a Nissan dealer and mechanic inspected and stated in report, "found occupancy classification module to be installed incorrectly and non oem". Warning light began flashing in February, 2023. No prior problems with airbags or warning lights. Airbags never deployed and never worked on. Vehicle was purchased new from a Nissan dealer. Airbag and warning light have not been repaired and it continues to flash when the truck is on. The warning light first came on spontaneously while driving and not in response to accident.

On a dark road going 40mph I hit a large deer on oct 7. The front end of my truck was damaged. Air bag went off but never inflated, and I smelled smoke briefly. I was able to drive home and in the morning I noted there were two quarter size burn holes in the air bag, which probably explains why the bag did not deploy. There was absolutely no evidence of fire under the hood, in the cab, etc. I understand that some kind of explosive is used to "project" the airbag but it looks like it may have also damaged it. What to do?.

The air bag clock spring spiral cable failed on 6-29-2022. Nissan replaced the component 6-30-2022 at a cost to me of 852. 72. I spoke with several service technicians at this dealership and I quote. . . Yep, this happens all the time with these clock springs. I called Nissan consumer affairs. My case number was 46685014. They said since this is covered under the 5 year 60 k miles that they would not cover the cost. My 2014 truck has 66k. I said to them I felt that this is a safety issue and there should not be a time or mileage limit attached to a safety issue since the airbags will not deploy and that this problem is occurring often, according to Nissan's own service technicians. Also, from one of Nissan's website "how often do air bag clocksprings need replacement? the airbag clock spring is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. I feel this should be investigated by your agency.

June 24, 2022 driving the vehicle at average speed 52-54 in highways when I pressed the brake it didnt respond, the automatic emergency braking did not activate or stop the vehicle. The air bag's also didn't were deployed, or engaged. The vehicle stop with the back section of the close vehicle in front. Thanks god, nobody was hurt physically.

I took my 2019 Nissan Frontier with 56,000 miles to the freedom Nissan in south burlington vt on 1/25/2022 due to the airbag light flashing red. Scanned the vehicle and found dtc b00a0 - they preformed diagnosis on code. Found occupant sensor failure. Will need to replace passenger seat bottom due to OCS sensor but within seat. My complaint is that Nissan is not covering this serious safety issue under warranty because the truck's three year basic warranty expired November 13, 2021 and exceeded 36,000 miles. I strongly disagree due the serious safety issue and with the long history of Nissan's occupant sensor failures they have had over many years. I have called Nissan's customer service and was told they would not cover the cost to install a new bottom seat. My case number with Nissan customer service is 45640533.

Symptoms began as random hard shifts, then progressed to a sudden loss of power and high rpms. If the vehicle was turned off and on, the transmission would engage and you could drive a couple hundred feet before it began slipping again. I used this tactic of turning it off and on again to get the vehicle off of the highway. Vehicle has not been sent to shop as of yet. Taking a turn, my Nissan Frontier 2007 suddenly stops right in the middle of the street causing traffic jam, I was lucky enough not to be t-boned with my kids seating on the back. Nissan knew about is but never advised costumers about it to open a recall campaign. Need help with this. Truck was bought brand new at the dealer.

On my 2007 Nissan Frontier my air bag light has come on and my regular repair shop has brought to my attention about the air bag sensor recall. The dealership in my area states that my vehicle does not fall under this recall but I am truly afraid of my husband or myself getting hurt if this is not fixed. We are in our 80"s and can not afford to have this issue fixed and feel as we should not have to fix this problem when there are so m any of these recalls out there. Please help.

Collision into heavy bus that crossed my path. Nissan totaled, airbags failed with high speed crash 55 plus mph with injuries. The passenger seat airbag light always stayed on since purchase. Nissan doing all they can to get out of the situation. Lots of excuses. Turned issue over to my insurance company to try to resolve with Nissan.

Involved in a auto accident on June 11 2021. Airbags deployed, however, little rock type projectiles also exploded from the airbag landing all over the car and passenger causing a risk to the eyes, face and other body parts. Has not been taken to the dealer, auto I believe is totaled. Photos sent to adjuster along with photos of the car damage. No warnings. I have photos have the projectiles throughout the car and I have also collected a small sample in a zip bag.

My air bag light kept flashing on my 2011 Nissan Frontier pro 4x4, I had it looked at when I got my oil changed and was told that it is a malfunction where you click the seat belt into, the light is off now but once some one sets in the passenger side seat and puts the seat belt on the light will come back on, due to malfunction in the seat belt, and if I would get into a accident and some one is sitting in the passenger side the seat belt will not properly secure them.

This is a follow up to an already filed claim. Complaint # 11331805 claim # 302958. Dealership never informed me that the way to fix the airbag on my 2009 Nissan Frontier pro 4x was to replace each part until the problem went away. Nissan has a very interesting way to fix something even after the computer diagnostic test.

I was recently involved in a frontend collision in my 2003 Nissan Frontier and neither airbag deployed. I was accelerating from a stop sign on a farm to market road. Denison TX.

I was in an accident on 12/28/19 and both of my airbags deployed. The drivers side however did not blow up enough to help me or even contact me at all and I suffered a concussion. I was traveling about 20 mph on a city street when a driver pulled out right in front of me and we collided.
