I took my truck to temecula Nissan and had it check, they told me my air bag would not open if I was in an accident, faulty spiral cable-p1564,faulty vent control valve-p0448, faulty fuel tank sending unit- p0463 this are things that need to be fixed, some of them are on a recall list but I was told it expired. So I could die behind this.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that they filled the vehicle with fuel and as they started driving the fuel gauge started to drop towards being empty. The failure corrected itself, but the second time the failure occurred the service engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and it was determined that the sender inside the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The manufacturer stated that the part was not under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The current mileage was 95549. Rl.
Traveling along hwy 209 in bigfork, mt, I noticed my gas gauge needle drop from 1/2 tank to below zero and immediately the fuel light came on along with the check engine light. A mile down the road and the engine stalled and had to make an emergency pull-over with my two young children in the car. Thankfully, the traffic was light that day, I was able to pull over safely, and I had cell service. I called my husband and let him know what happened. He brought gas and, sure enough, the truck started once again, but did not register fuel again until I filled the tank completely. It continues to repeat this cycle where it will register until a certain fuel level and then the needle will dive to below empty.
Truck started to buck and hesatate during exceleration. Check engine light came on. Took truck to Nissan dealer and was infromed the fuel take sending was bad. Searched on line for recalls and found a recall for my truck due to defective fuel sending unit. Nissan is refusing to honor the recall because in 2010 they replaced the fuel tank. I stated the fuel tank is not the fuel take sending unit which was not replaced at that time. Dealer charged $850. 00 for repairs and Nissan will not honor the recall on the fuel sending unit. The recall stated this is a safety recall due to the failure of this unit could cause a crash.

Took vehicle to local Nissan dealership for noise that appeared to be coming from transmission with a slight rowing sound when transmission shifted between 40 mph and 45 mph. Shop manager informed me truck needed a new timing chain and fuel tank sending unit. After making repairs to the timing chain which the shop manager specifically indicated that the problem was with the timing chain, my truck still has the same exact problem. These repairs were made at my expense. Now the dealership want me to pay for additional repairs that may not be the problem when they specifically assured me that the timing chain was the problem. I feel that the real problem with my vehicle is the radiator and transmission, which is a nation-wide problem with Nissan Frontier truck transmission and other Nissan vehicles. Nissan is responsible for a re-call on these vehicle. (will seek Nissan corp. & bbb assist to resolve this issue).
Vehicle ran out of gas when the gas hand was reading at a quarter of a tank. It happened as I entered traffic.
In 2014 the fuel sending unit attached to the fuel tank had a 3-4 inch gap. Excessive fuel smell (health, environmental and fire hazard). A similar report was made receipt date: may 24, 2004 > NHTSA campaign number: 04v230000 > component(s): fuel system, gasoline these incidents may be connected and still occurring I have photos and documentation from the repair made by a Nissan dealer available upon request. Fuel can leak from the gap and if in an accident cause a fire, serious bodily injury or death. I contacted Nissan north America and case # 15829663 was generated. No further action on their part has been made to investigate this incident.
Fuel gauge readings inaccurate. Gauge reads that there is approximately 1/4 tank of fuel when in fact the tank is close to or completely empty.

I have been having the fuel gauge problems with my 2007 Nissan Frontier that I now see so many other people have complained about. It has been close to a year that I have had the issue but I knew it was the fuel level indicator sensor causing the check engine light to come so I didn't get it fixed. I would fill up with gas and the fuel gauge would stay at empty (no matter how much fuel was in the tank when I started fueling). Then after driving up to 100 miles the fuel gauge would go up to what I assume was an accurate reading. It has been about a month now the fuel gauge has completely quit working. I would fill up at between 250 miles to 300 miles on a tank because I knew I always got over 300 miles on a tank of gas. Well, this morning on my way to work I ran out a gas right in the middle of a busy intersection. I am very disgusted to see all of the complaints about this problem and Nissan is not willing to do anything about it. On top of that, I thought a smaller pickup with a 6 cylinder engine would get better gas mileage than is does. My 2007 Frontier gets lousy gas mileage.
Corrosion was discovered at the top of the gas tank after a strong gasoline odor was noticed.
My vehicle no longer registers how much fuel is in my tank because of a faulty fuel sending unit. I ran out of gas on the freeway. Why wasn't a recall issued to fix the known problem? stalled vehicles pose a hazard.
Nissan Frontier 2005 truck: fuel tank sending unit started showing variable fuel levels, fluctuating wildly, then completely stopped functioning. This after some 75,000 miles. No prior warning. No extreme use conditions, just normal everyday driving on this vehicle. Dealer refused replacement because it was over 75,000 miles.
Fuel gage shows empty when its full or vise versa. Gauge does not work because fuel tank has warped and float wont read it properly. Nissan is aware of their problem but Nissan in reno nv wants $400. 00 to fix it. Their faulty parts and they wont stand behind them. Weak.
Fuel gage shows empty when its the tank is full and causes the "check engine" light to go on. I can't tell when I'm out of gas.
Driving on highway around 9 pm at 65 mph. The engine stopped I was able to pull off the highway and come to a safe stop. I had run out of fuel ,the fuel gauge indicated 1/8 tank of fuel left. The check engine light came on. I got fuel and drove it home. Hooked the truck to a scanner code p0463 fuel level sensor circuit high input. I believe there is a recall for this same problem on other Nissan vehicles. The dealer told me my truck was not covered by that recall. Can you tell me if my truck is covered under any other recalls for this problem? thank you .
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. Upon inspection, it was found that the fuel tank was empty although the fuel gauge indicated that it was 3/4 full. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel level sending unit was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was 72,000.
I called nissian in regards to NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000. They claim that it does not apply to my VIN 1n6ad07u76c455532. My vehicle has roughly 52,000 miles on it and is experiencing this issue. They want me to take it to nissian for a diagnosis that will cost me ~$150. My check engine light is always on and refers to the fuel sending unit. The in cabin fuel gauge shows 1/4 tank nearly all the time.
I was driving at posted speed when my vehicle ran out of gas. The fuel gauge showed that I had 1/2 tank, nearly causing a crash. I am a former memphis police officer with extensive defensive driving. My truck is not under the recall. But, it is in the date range. I have filed a complaint also about the transmission coolant problem also! thanks, jon.
Service engine soon light came on and fuel gauge went to empty. Distance to empty was erratic, however slowly recovered. Filled vehicle with gas even though it was only on 1/4 tank. Service engine soon light continues to stay on and fuel gauge remains on empty. I have seen many posts online with people having the same issues. This is an issue Nissan should remedy due to so many having this problem.
Nissan has a well known problem with faulty fuel sensor sending unit on Frontier and xterra trucks. This causes the gas gauge to stop working and record inaccurate fuel level. The fuel guage will show empty when tank is full. This is a safety concern as vehicle owner does not know how much fuel is in the tank and could run out of gas on an interstate/highway or moving through intersection, going onto highway exchanges etc. This puts driver and other vehicles on the road at risk. I called Nissan and they will not stand behind this part even though it is defective. I even went as far to ask them if I paid for the part (~$100) would they cover the labor (the fuel tank needs to be dropped to change the defective sensor). They said no.
Gas gauge quit working goes between half and quarter tank and stops, letting you run out of gas. Next item is timing chain howl on cold starts for over a year now then I read bulletin that chain tensioners are wearing and causing timing chain failures and Nissan has never notified owners I was just in to dealer about gas gauge problem about 2 weeks ago and no one mentioned timing chain problem.
Previously I reported a fuel tank leak. I have seen that other 2000 / 01 Frontiers had the same issue. Nissan recalled the 2001"s and replaced the fuel tank. They were replacing the tanks on the 2000 model at no charge on a case by case basis. I filed a case with Nissan ( case#12472021) seeking assistance and today was denied any assistance in having the defective tank changed. The Nissan supervisor was [xxx] at 800 343 6913 ext [xxx] that was after I paid a non-refundable diagnostic fee of $120. 00 to Nissan 112 in patchogue NY to tell me the tank needed to be changed at a cost of over $700. 00. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2003 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving various speeds, he continuously had a headache. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician verified that fuel fumes were emitted into the vehicle. As result, the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 105,000.

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, he noticed the "low fuel" warning night was illuminated, however, the contact knew that the fuel tank was full. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall when the vehicle was inclined and driven up a hill. The problem recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the mechanic stated that the the fuel level sensor circuit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number :10v075000(fuel system, gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. Gb.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that fuel level sensor failed and would not read when the fuel tank was full or empty. The failure was experienced several times and caused the vehicle to stall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 131,000.
Fuel gauge not reading correctly. Registering 1/4 tank when it was almost empty. Took vehicle to dealership and they replaced the fuel sender unit. Why wasn't my vehicle involved in the recall. Looks to be some more of Nissan's not wanting to include all of the defective vehicles in the recall.
Gas gauge does not register accurately. Example being when tank is empty it still reads 1 quarter full.
My 2007 Nissan Frontier fuel gauge remains past the empty mark. It stays that way even when the tank is full. This also causes my check engine light to stay on. This causes me not to know how much gas I have left.
Fuel indicator reads empty when tank is full.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel gauge tank unit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 65,000.
My fuel gauge is not working properly, which has caused the check engine light to stay on constantly. When I fill up with fuel, the fuel gauge will sometimes move up to full, but only after a few starts of the engine. However, it will fall back down to empty after only driving a few miles or so. I really never know how much fuel I have unless I go back to fill it up just to be safe. I have looked online today and found out that there is a massive and very widespread fuel system issue with this vehicle type. I notified Nissan today and was told that there is not an open recall for this problem with my vehicle. How is that even possible, based on the number of incidents I have found from my research dealing with this particular issue. The Nissan agent advised me to go to a Nissan dealership garage and ask for a diagnostic check. She said to call her back or have a mechanic rep. Call to advise what the diagnostic check revealed. She stated Nissan may be able to help with some financial aide. I truly appreciate the gesture, but that does not fix the fact that this issue should be completely covered by a manufacturer recall. Yesterday I ran out of gas on the expressway during heavy traffic. I was very fortunate to be able to coast two lanes over to the emergency lane. However, the portion I was in was very narrow and did not offer ample room to pour the gas in the tank that a friend brought me an hour after I ran out of gas. A police officer kindly stopped to assist with the very dangerous mission of trying to get the gas in the vehicle standing only inches from the traffic as it rushed by at very high speeds. To make a long story a little shorter, there was an incident involving two tractor trailers and two cars. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Including the officer, my friend, and myself, who were standing only feet from where the incident occurred. Thank god!.
Service engine soon led illuminated after starting vehicle. Checked code is p0463 fuel level sensor a circuit high input. Fuel level guage is not accurate. Driver does not know when fuel tank is empty. Should be a recall.
