37 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 12/01/2010

At about 40,000 miles fuel gauge stopped working. And started having intermittent electrical problems. Headlights going on and off when in park. Fan starting when key is turned but not cranked. Anti-theft system locking me out from starting the truck. 70000 miles vehicle would intermittently not start. It would crank but not start. Took it to Nissan and was told nothing could be done on their part. I was told it was the ecu, bmu, tmu, and ipdm were all bad. I replaced the ipdm and bmu and ecu. Truck still ran rough. At 91000 miles Nissan now says my transmission is bad due to the radiator coolant leaking into the transmission but I am out of the 80000 mile warranty. Nissan said they will pay half to fix if I pay half of the $4600 transmission repair. Nissan can not explain why this happened but acknowledged that this is a big complaint of the 2005 Pathfinder.

42 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 09/18/2010

I purchased a pre-owned 2006 Pathfinder le from Honda, during the test drive the car was ok, but as soon as we sign sales contract got the keys and they gave us a $20 gas re-imburstent, vehicle's fuel gauge went wacky and said that we were on empty and light came on. Took it back to the dealership and they sent me to their 3rd party mechanic who are wonderful and changed out the fuel sender. Car ran find afterwards, not even 2 months later and only put about 1200 miles on the vehicle, problem re-occurred. Called Honda and the sales man that sold us the car said to bring it back to their 3rd party but did not guarantee that they will help pay for the issue. Did some research and found that their has been a recall on the same make and model of car that I purchased, but when I called Nissan to ask if vehicle is under warranty they said no it is not and they cannot do anything or will assist me in anyway, but would like me to take it to Nissan dealer to get it diagnosed at my cost, and to call them back to give them feed back. I said no thanks, and now I have been trying to contact the pre-owned sales manager by phone but he will not return my calls, I will go tomorrow to their office to see again if they will help me with the cost and find a permanent fix since this is my family vehicle which I told the sales man.

43 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 09/07/2010

My 2005 Nissan Pathfinder fuel sending unit was not working properly. You did not know exactly how much gas was in the vehicle therefore could have caused severe injury if driving and ran out of gas and didn't know it!.

44 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/10/2010

The fuel sensor went out on my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and it is the same part that was recalled in the 2006 Pathfinders!!!!.

45 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/04/2010

Our 2005 Nissan Pathfinder had an issue with its fuel gauge recently where the gauge would not work properly and tell us the correct amount of gas in the car. I googled the problem and based on the forums and responses it is a known problem. It seems that all Pathfinder models from 2005-2008 has this problem occur. Which seems to be a safety issue, because you cannot tell how much gas is in the car and you could run out on the highway. Nissan recalled titan, armada, qx56, quest (2005-2008), and also fountier, xterra, and Pathfinder (but only cars manufactured Jan-marc 2006 and oct 2007-Jan 2008) for this issue. We took our car to Nissan of eastside to get this looked at and it is going to cost us $535 + tax. Nissan of eastside said they don't know why 2005 Pathfinders were not recalled, and it is the same part that the other cars that were recalled had replaced. Can you help us find out why 2005 Pathfinders were not part of this recall? I called Nissan consumer affairs and they know that this is same part for 2005, but were not reimbursing for repair since it was not part of recall. This is a safety hazard and seems to effect 2005.

46 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/03/2010

2005 Nissan Pathfinder fuel sending unit first noticed check engine light on then would go out, started getting worse, fuel gauge would not register correct fuel level, the miles till empty will not work. We have no idea when we are going to run out of fuel . Have talked to dealer they said the fuel sending unit needs replaced, there are numerous Pathfinders with the same problem but will have a recall on this issue.

47 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/30/2010

The fuel level sending unit of my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder failed at approximately 45k miles in July 2010. This is apparently a significant issue for some Nissan vehicles as the internet has hundreds of similar complaints. In addition, Nissan released bulletin ntb07-069a regarding faulty fuel level sensors. I am currently working with Nissan to have them resolve their faulty unit in my vehicle, however initially they indicate this is not a covered repair despite the hundreds of active complaints I can find all over the internet. My concern is that the vehicle may run out of fuel while on the road, a major issue for my familys safety.

48 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder

49 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 07/23/2010

The fuel level sending unit has failed on my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder causing the fuel level gauge to provide inaccurate readings. The failure occurred one month ago. Since then my fuel gauge has provided inaccurate gas level readings potentially causing me to run out of gas while on the highway. I have not yet attempted to get the part fixed, but after doing some on-line research I have learned that it will cost about $500 to fix. The problem is, apparently, relatively widespread.

50 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

54 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/12/2010

I recently received a recall on my armada 2006 for the fuel level sending unit. I also have a 2005 Pathfinder and I am having the same problem. I am not sure why the Pathfinder which is a 2005 would not be on the recall list also, I had to pay almost $600 to repair at the dealer. I would think they would be the same type of fuel level sending unit from the same manufacturer.

55 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/08/2010

Fuel gauge does not register or erratic. This is a known issue with Nissan. Nhtsa campaign #10v-075 to include Nissan/pathfinder/2006 for this specific problem. Yet, Nissan dealer continue to refuse to make repair on a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with this specific problem because "VIN number not part of recall".

56 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated the fuel gauge failed. In addition, the driver side mirror failed while the contact attempted to adjust the mirror. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failures. The dealer replaced the fuel gauge sensor. The contact stated that most recently, the transmission would exhibit failures and was slow to respond to acceleration attempts when in reverse. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The driver side mirror and the transmission were not repaired. The failure mileage was 36,500 and the current mileage was 92,000. Kmj.

57 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

I own a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder with 78000 miles. I purchased this brand new. The fuel gauge sensor stopped working around 76000 miles. I get a service engine light and my electronic fuel gauge does not register that I have any fuel. Nissan recently sent out a warranty extension to fix this problem up to 75000 miles, but what about the rest of us who did not start having this problem until later?.

58 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/28/2010

The check engine soon light came on. I checked with obd ii and it was the fuel sensor. I checked online and found many others with the same problem. With so many failures it seems apparent it is the result of a faulty part and a recall should be issued. It causes the gas gauge to work erratically. Nissan is charging over $500 to fix this mess to the customer.

59 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/20/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. Upon starting the vehicle, the contact noticed the service engine light was illuminated on the instrument panel. 62 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/02/2010

When you fuel up the fuel gauge drops to empty. It will later go to full put the engine service light comes on. To get the light to go off you have to have someone clear the code or disconnect the battery cable. I found a large number of people who have had the same problems with their Nissan vehicles.

63 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/01/2010

Radiator leaks fluid into transmission, Nissan knows this is a flaw and they will only flush your transmission, just to put it off until you are out of warranty. I started taking my Nissan in at 52,000miles for this problem and they kept telling me that they are unfamiliar with the problems I was experiencing and they couldn't find anything wrong with the truck. Now I'm out of warranty and my transmission needs replaced. Nissan also has a problem with they fuel gage, sometimes it shows gas levels, and sometimes it doesn't. I have ran out of gas 3 times now, on the highway! again, Nissan knows this is a problem, they even sent an "extended warranty" to cover this problem specifically. But, only if you are under a certain mileage. And they didn't send me the notice until I was under the mileage limit by 300 miles! please help!!.

64 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/15/2010

I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. It has been diagnosed by a Nissan dealer with a defective fuel level sensor. This same issue has triggered a recall for 2005 and 2006 vehicles manufactured within three months of my manufacturer date yet has not been expanded to include all of the 2006 model year. This is an existing issue that should be included in the current recall. This could result in accidents and injuries as vehicles can unexpectedly run out of gas and become uncontrollable on highways or other dangerous scenarios. I contacted Nissan and asked them to review this issue and include the entire 2006 model year but was told that it would not be at this time.

65 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/11/2010

Nissan 2006 Pathfinder models come with defects that Nissan will not take responsibility for. The fuel sending unit on this vehicles are defected and can cause people to run out of gas and put themselves in danger. Also the radiator can cause a leek and send fluid into the transmission causing possible accident. Nissan refuses to admit this is a recall problem.

67 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/08/2010

2005 Nissan Pathfinder fuel sensor defective. Nissan don't want to recall any car that 2005 n earlier. I never see any other car that fuel sensor go bad when it reach 40000 miles.
