Air conditioner stop working after just over 3yrs. ? is this normal? this did not happen while vehicle was under warranty but just after warranty had expired in Nov. 2009. My alternator went first ( around June 2009 est. ) then my air conditioner around sept. 2009.

Engine check light comes on, and the engine overheats. Also, heater doesn't work, and hears rattling noise when consumer starts the vehicle.
