1 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/21/2013

This has happened to me on two occasions now. Driving along in peak traffic and suddenly vehicle shuts off. No power steering and almost involved in accidents both occasions the first time I was alone the second time I had my grand babies with me and that was terriffing for them as the other road users where whizzing past and they were stopped. Both times I looked at the digital reading on the display and it displayed the miles as 80 miles to empty and 60 miles to empty and the manual gauge still showed just under 1/4 tank left. The low fuel light never came on either time. This needs to be sorted out before some one gets killed especially as this is used to transport children. . . . Updated 04-10-14.

2 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2012 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/19/2012

3 months after purchasing a brand new 2012 Nissan Quest (purchased vehicle on 04/15/2012), I was driving down a hill at a low rate of speed when the engine shut off and the car stated there was no more gas, even though there was a quarter tank. Cars behind me slammed on their breaks and luckily we were not hit. I put the car in neutral and after coasting down the hill and reaching a level part of the road, my car started again and told me that I had a quarter tank. After taking the car to the dealer, I learned there was an open recall campaign (NHTSA recall 12v076) on the 2012 Quest and the remedy was not performed prior to me purchasing the vehicle, which is against regulations as the recall campaign was started by Nissan before I purchased the vehicle. On 06/20/2012 (1 day after the incident) I took the car to a Nissan dealer to be repaired and the problem was supposedly fixed at town center Nissan under r/o number 6012078/1. On September 26th I started to turn into an intersection on a green arrow when my car shut off and said I was out of gas, (a minute prior to that the car said I had 37 miles and a quarter tank left). I was almost rear ended (the car had to swerve into another lane) and good samaritans pushed me into a parking lot close by. I realize that NHTSA has already acted on the problem my car experienced, but I feel something should be done with regards to the dealer "gwinnett place Nissan" who sold me the car without first fixing the problem (since it was a brand new car). I also want NHTSA to be aware that the "fix" so far has not worked for my vehicle. We are giving them a "final repair opportunity notice" via the lemon law.

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2011 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/07/2012

I purchased my Nissan November of 2011. On January 7th 2012 as I was driving going down hill on hwy 70 in blue springs going on a on ramp which is down hill going approxamately 45-50 mph and my engine out of no where just shut off while I was driving. I had my wife and three kids in the car with me and this is a serious safety issue. I am in the marine corps stationed in arizona and I had to go back to my duty station there. This occurance has happened many more times with my wife, on one incident almost caused a serious accident (which could of killed someone) and my wife and children where she was driving in the middle lane and randomly the engine cutoff on her on highway 70 going about 70mph and it wasnt even on a hill it was on flat pavement by the grace of god she made it over to the side of the hwy and once stopped she couldnt restart for about 10 minutes I asked her if she was out of fuel she said no it had about half a tank. My wife is terrified to drive this car terrified and she has to drive it to take my son to school and I am not even able to be there to help address the situation. This is a serious issue and I am contacting Nissan corporate and addressing it. I am extremely worried for my families safety and im making payments on a vehicle that seems to be a death trap. Anything you can do to help me and my family would be greatly appreciated.
