Nissan Rogue owners have reported 4 problems related to manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Nissan Rogue based on all problems reported for the Rogue.
Our 2015 Nissan Rogue had to have an intake manifold assembly basically the top of the engine due to the intake manifold assembly is made of plastic!!! who in their right mind would put plastic parts on the top of an engine??? also, the blind spot detection camera which is placed in the front of the car by the Nissan symbol where it can be hit by a rock or a bug as I was told. Why would this camera not be protected from this being damaged so easily. The intake manifold assembly cost $1,071. 48 to repair. It was going to cost $1,200. 00 to repair the blind spot detection camera. We knew there was an issue with the engine due to the check engine light came on. I have invoices to show the cost of the replacement of the intake manifold assembly. We did not elect to have the blind spot detection camera fixed since it is in a non-protected area.

My fiancES check engine light came on in her 2016 Nissan Rogue. I wanted to see what problems would present themselves. Upon taking it for a test drive right away after starting the vehicle I noticed the engine was shaking and could be felt throughout the whole cabin of the vehicle, similar to a complaint filed I saw on the website (NHTSA id number: 11266446). I also noticed that strong fumes were coming into the cabin of vehicle as well. Driving the vehicle around a few blocks I noticed it was having a hard time accelerating and felt like it had a misfire to it as well. I got a diagnostic test done on the Rogue and I was told it was the intake manifold and that it was a common problem in the Nissan Rogue, both by christian brothers automotive and by the parts department at the Nissan dealership. The part itself would cost over 400 dollars from the dealership if I was to replace it myself and over 1200 dollars parts and labor if I let christian brothers automotive do the work. I was also told that the the replacement intake manifold was a newer updated model which is another big reason for this complaint because clearly they know this is a problem and they want the customers to pick up the bill instead of them owning up to their faulty technology and replacing it themselves.

When driving up a hill my engine would essentially vapor lock and I couldn't go past 45 to 50 mph. I would be flooring the gas pedal and my car would be going 45 to 50 mph up a hill. I took it to my mechanic and found it to be the intake manifold runner code p2004. That part comes with a new intake manifold on my car. He did some research and found there was a flaw on the p2004. It was made of plastic and it would cause part of the manifold to be stuck and not receive air. While he was doing his research to order the part I needed, he found that Nissan knew about this flaw and had to redesign the engine for the Rogue. This part was no longer made. This is happening to so many rouge owners that the part needed is back ordered. The supply is so low and the demand is high right now that the Nissan dealership in irvine CA, raised their price for a intake manifold from $300 to $550. On top of the fact that Nissan is aware of the issue they are price gouging customers. I firmly believe this needs to be a recall issue and Nissan needs to take responsibility. No car that is made in 2014 should have an issue that it cant go up a hill at 45 mph. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed ASAP. I called the dealership and the Nissan consumer affairs and they are not responsible for what happens to the car. Any car on the road that cant go above 45 mph is a ticking time bomb for an accident to happen on the freeway. .

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, she attempted to merge onto the highway and the vehicle decelerated without warning. The engine rpms increased and after repeated pressure to the accelerate pedal, the vehicle was able to increase speed. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer four times. The technician was unable to duplicate the problem. On a separate occasion, a roaring noise emitted outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the intake manifold was adjusted and the motor mount replaced. The failure continued to occur. In addition, a specialist performed an investigation and there was no resolution. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 4,822.
