1 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/10/2018

While coming out of a complete stop on city streets, the engine will not accelerate. This has happened twice. Additionally, when we take the car for drives longer than an hour on the interstate or up a canyon (we live near mountains) we have had it where the engine does not accelerate at all. We have taken it into a family mechanic and he says its our transmission and that it should be covered in warranty. We took it into Nissan, they run the diagnostic test, says that our car has overheated 7 times and that it has to do with the transmission. But of course it's not covered by warranty. They say they can replace the whole transmission for an insane amount or add on an exterior cooling system for a little less insane amount. We've only had it since February.

2 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/03/2015

I was driving on I-5 from los angeles traveling about 65mph. I had been driving for about 55min when my vehicle rpm's started to increase and my mph's started to decrese. I tried to push the gas pedal down to accelerate but just the rpm's would rev up and car kept lossing speed. I had to pull over various times and let the car sit while off for about 20-25 min before I could drive safely again. This only lasted for about an hour at the most before I would have the same problem again and have to pull over to let the car sit for a while. Also I checked all fluids when I pulled over and everything was at optimal level as required. The car was not over heating either.

3 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/13/2012

When going over 60 miles an hour, usually about an hour into a long drive, the Nissan Rogue will not accelerate. The rpm indicator goes haywire and my foot is completely down on the pedal but there is no acceleration. This first happened in August 2012 when I was driving over a mountain to get to the desert so I thought the car was overheating. Since then this has been happening consistently whenever I drive for over an hour (which I often do for work). At times, the car will not move forward if it is at a stoplight even when my foot is completely on the floor. Then it revs up after a minute but not before everyone else starts honking. This is extremely dangerous when you are on the freeway and suddenly your car stops accelerating. All the cars behind you start passing you but it will only take one car not paying attention to cause a huge accident, injury or death and then Nissan will be in real trouble. I have found hundreds of incidences and complaints from other Nissan Rogue drivers over the past couple years with the exact same problem.
