Air Bag Light On Problems of Nissan Sentra - part 2

Have a 1997 Nissan Sentra 1. 6 x e four-door sedan. This morning starting the vehicle I noticed the airbag light stayed on and begin to blank and would not shut off after further inspection I realize that no one had made any contact with my vehicle sitting in my driveway the vehicle is at 227xxx miles but I would never expect for a safety restraint system to expire or malfunction I really hope that Nissan takes this into consideration.

The air bag light keeps flashing. My grandmother took it to the dealer and they said it needed to be reset, she drove off and a mile later the light came back on. I have not taken it back to the dealer yet, but I see other drivers are reporting the same problem with this car. I googled how to reset it, did it myself, but as soon as you start driving it comes back on.

Airbag light began flashing intermittently (not during motion). Taken to dealer to reset, came back on almost immediately. Was told airbag and module would need to be replaced. No cause as far as I can tell (not involved in accident, airbag didn't deploy, etc).

And somewhere around June, the airbag light on dash board came again and we've tried to summit the supplement for the airbag issue, and had it diagnosed by autonation Nissan at lewisville TX and the insurance company denied the supplement request because the autonation Nissan has stated that "airbag malfunctioning on Nissan Sentra is a common problem" and for that reason the supplement was denied, and it got me thinking that if it's the common problem as the service adviser of the Nissan stated, then why won't Nissan issue recall order for such an critical issue that may cause catastrophic event if it keeps malfunctioning? I would like NHTSA to have proper investigation on this matter. . . Because if the airbag sensor malfunction is not related to the accident I had, then Nissan is not caring about the lives of people who drives the same model vehicle as my Sentra. . .

When passengers sit in front seat, intermittently the airbag lights goes on and off. Don't know if the airbag is really going to work when it is supposed to. Taken to dealer and they say nothing wrong, but obviously there is something wrong when 200 pound person sitting there and the airbag says it is turned off. Dealer won't do anything to fix the problem. Tells me the car is safe. I don't feel it is safe and now feel I have to take picture of airbag notification when driving just in case of an accident to protect myself. Shouldn't have to have a vehicle that has safety features that don't work properly. This type of problem occurs whether the car is running or not running when the passenger gets in.

Takata recall my airbag light is flashing and when it was diagnosed at patpeck Nissan of mobile they told me my car wasnt part of the recall but it is the passenger air bag light and was told it will not deploy in a crash.

I reported this problem to Nissan February 2015. They have not been able to fix this yet. Nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 last time I brought my vehicle in Nov 28, I gave them a video I had taken of the passenger air bag light indicating the airbag was disabled on Nov 26 during a trip from san francisco to la. The passenger air bag was disabled during 120 miles of the trip. The technician said that this can happen if I move, like lifting your butt to remove your wallet out of your back pocket, I just have to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road, turn it off, wait for a minute and start it again. I pointed out how ridiculous that statement was. So what happens if you drive on a bumpy road? he responded: ok, we will reset the sensor but it will probably not solve the problem. He was right in that, same evening the passenger air bag got disabled again. I have several videos of the air bag being disabled at multiple occasions while driving on streets and highways. The car have now been in twice for Nissan to fix this problem. But they don't seem to have the ability to do just that.

My car had a recall on the passenger seat belt, I took it to the dealer to be fixed and after they did, they told me that the airbag light will stay on until someone over 100 pounds sets there then it will turn off, and they told me that the red seat belt light on the dash board will stay on all the time, and yes I still have this problem with my car, both lights are on all the time and the dealer is not doing anything about it. If my car dose not detect any one hows less than 100 pounds on the passenger side that means my car is not safe at all.

They had a recall about the air bag light indication that it might not deploy in a accident on the passage side. I very concern about this I had it check when they first had the recall but the light is back on. I called the dealer and they can check it today but the time of the appointment I have to be somewhere, so I have to wait and make a appointment. So I called the recall number for Nissan and filed a complain and was given a claims number 24443789 and she said they only do the one recall I very concern about my family safety can you investigate this problem please thank you emily crawford.

Passenger front airbag light does not go off (indicating airbag is on) when passenger sits in seat. This is intermittent problem as it will sometimes go off and sometimes not. Multiple trips to dealer and calls to Nissan customer relations have not resolved issue. Were told on last contact nothing could be done. Passenger weighs 118 lbs. And this is not a problem when she rides in other vehicles, I. E. Hyundai santa fe and Subaru outback. Case #24255363 with customer relations. Byerely Ford-Nissan, louisville, ky is dealer. In the event of an accident this is a safety issue should the airbag fail to operate.

After recall was completed, my passenger airbag light comes on and stays on with no weight on the seat. This happens stationary and moving.

Airbag light started randomly blinking when I started the car. I brought it to the dealer, they said "faulty clock spring and drivers airbag assy - replace (b1049 drivers airbag open)". The cost was $1,468. 32 no including tax, etc and said it was unusual for both pieces to be faulty.

My 2008 Nissan Sentra air bag light came on in the past and I had it reset by the dealer. It stayed out for a long period of time. The dealer advised me to replace the left side seat assembly and that it would cost me approximately $3,400 to do so. Is this possible for a 2008 Nissan with only 56,000 miles on it? the air bags for this model are not on the recall list, but I'm questioning if they should be.

The car is in the shop at the dealer for the airbag recall for the 5th time now the fix was supposed to turn on the airbag when someone sits in the seat. On different occasions the airbag remains off when someone is sitting in the seat while driving this is the second time they're replacing the control module for the airbags they have reset it three different times without success. They gave me a rental car looks to be about the same year make and model it also has issues with the airbag light it's supposed to remain on while no one is in the seat yesterday I videotaped it being off while no one was in the seat they still have not been able to correct this problem and could end up in injury or death if in an accident.

Passenger side airbag indicator light goes on and off. Does not recognize when a 135 pound person is sitting in the passenger seat. Noticed the recall on NHTSA and took the vehicle to streater smith Nissan in conroe texas. They performed a zero point reset and said there were no recalls on this vehicle when it is clearly listed on the NHTSA website. I have real concerns that Nissan has not seen fit to order an actual recall on this defective issue. Because until they do their dealers will not fix the situation. The vehicle was in motion with a passenger in the seat. I do not remember the exact date with a passenger in the vehicle the date below is when the vehicle was taken to Nissan.

Driver air bag light came on while driving and won't go off. Even when reset it returns. Went to dealer and they confirmed that there was something wrong but didn't think it was a recall, and would charge close to $1000 to troubleshoot and fix.
