The child was thrown from the safety seat. The child suffered no injuries. A police report was not filed. The air bag warning light was illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that the seat belt latch failed. The air bag failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the incident. The contact stated that the dealer had documented that they had performed a software update,however,the failure persisted. My 2007 Nissan Sentra caught on fire while I was driving on the highway. No warning lights came on, no noise, just stalled and I was not able to pull off the road. Car was a total loss. I had taken it in to the dealer for 2 recalls (brake master cylinder and airbags) last year, but was told my car cleared both.
