The exhaust manifolds on this vehicle are extremely prone to cracking. There are hundreds of reports online of them cracking so Nissan is certainly aware of the issue. They cracked on my vehicle and exhaust gasses leak into the passenger compartment so this is definitely a safety hazard.

Two cracked exhaust manifolds. At times I an getting exhaust fumes into drivers compartment. I understand this is a wide problem with Nissan 5. 6 l v-8s and a big problem with the Titans. My local Nissan dealer est. Repair at $3,507. 50 and he told me the it is not uncommon for both to fail at the same time. Nissan customer support will not do anything. I started have problem at 100. 000 mile I am at 124. 000 now. From what I have been told this is a design defect. I think this should be made into a recall. My truck looks like new from the outside.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Titan. While the vehicle was being serviced by the dealer for a routine oil change, the dealer noticed that the vehicle was louder than necessary. It was diagnosed that the exhaust manifold cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The exhaust manifolds are faulty and crack allowing deadly carbon monoxide exhaust gases to enter the cab of the truck while the vehicle is in operation. This could cause the driver to lose consciousness and crash. It was only after my 6th long road trip (3+ hours driving) did I discover I was being poisoned by carbon monoxide. I took my truck to an exhaust repair company and as soon as I mentioned my vehicle the technician told me he was 99% sure I had a cracked manifold. He later confirmed this with a diagnostic test which revealed both manifolds cracked and leaking exhaust fumes into the cab. This could have killed me just sitting in a parking lot! I thought I was just getting bad headaches from the long drive and my nausea was from the extreme headaches. After this happening so many times I knew there had to be more to this. Think about somebody driving, being poisoned to the point to where they pull off the road to rest and try to sleep off their headache in a running vehicle to stay warm and end up dying. Nissan needs to fix this. I don't want a new defective manifold, I want a fix!.

Cracked exhaust manifold has been noted, and/or. Possible malfunction of catalytic converters welded to manifolds. 118,500 miles. Replacement manifolds/cats cost is very expensive and labor intensive. So-called "common problem" with Titans. Imo, this problem may possibly send co2 to passengers if not corrected, not to mention poor vehicle performance and possible severe engine damage if not corrected. Nissan should certainly initiate a recall on this dangerous problem.

Exhaust manifold cracked at about 75,000 miles.
"takata recall" cracked manifolds bank 1.
My only complaint would be why hasn't their been a recall on any Titans that are having cracked exhaust manifolds, which cause check engine light and very expensive repairs.

I had the dealer inspect the vehicle. They said both exhaust manifolds had cracked. They said there was a previous notice from Nissan and they should be replaced. I was not notified and the dealer did not contact me. Now they said too much time had elapsed to take advantage of this free replacement. This is clearly a design defect since Nissan had them replaced on some vehicles. This is a safety hazard because cracked manifolds can cause a carbon monoxide leak or set a fire while driving fast. The cost to repair is near $1000 for the parts plus labor to install. There must be other people who had this safety problem so the government should force Nissan to fix all the vehicles. Mine has only 86000 easy miles on it.

The other day I was sitting in traffic for almost 30 min stopped with the engine running (lots of christmas traffic on the 5 south freeway), I put the truck in park because I notice an accident. I had my windows up and my cabin air on. Then a few min later I started feeling dizzy almost fainting. The car next to me saw that I was struggling, came to my window and asked me if I was ok. I rolled down my window and he noticed the smell of exhaust inside my truck. After my headache went away. I went to the dealership and they told me both of my exhaust manifolds were cracked and that's how the exhaust was entering near the front cabin.
Exhaust leak at manifold on both sides of the engine. There is a significant crack in the manifold that is a defect and causes gases to escape into engine compartment and into the cab.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Nissan Titan. The contact indicated that the abs sensor intermittently illuminated. The contact noticed that upon inspecting the vehicle, the flange on the exhaust pipe was rusted along with the two bolts and there was an exhaust leak under the vehicle along with a crack on the exhaust manifold. The vehicle was to be taken to an authorized dealer for further inspection, diagnosis and repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,400. Dyd.
I found my truck has 3 recalls that need to be done. But my exhaust manifold is also cracked I have heard of this bing a known problem as well. It has been cracked and leaking for a while but I haven't been driving it to much seens it's been leaking.
My 2004 Nissan Titan with 81k mile has 2 cracked exhaust manifolds. Both passenger and driver sides have crack just in front of last cycle on both sides. My truck was running fine one night. The next morning my truck was sounding like it had an exhaust leak. Send my truck in to have recalls address and it was confirmed by Nissan mechanics that both sides are cracked. Was told it would be about $3000 to replace both sides. Many people have reported this issue and nothing has been done.

My exhust manifold on the driver side cracked in half.
Cracked exhaust manifolds. Both at the same time.
Manifold cracked and had to be replaced by the dealer.
The exhaust manifolds crack and cause emissions leaks.
Was told during yearly state vehicle inspection that it would not pass due to cracked exhaust manifolds on both the driver's and passenger's side. I was 19 days out of warranty, but almost 23,000 miles under. This is a pleasure use truck that averages roughly 7000 miles per year and sometimes isn't driven for weeks. I have had it serviced by the dealership from the day I bought it. Sought assistance from Nissan America but was declined without explanation. It's clear that both did not crack after the expiration date of the warranty. It is also clear, based on only a few minutes of internet research, that this is a widespread and well published problem. The fact that it won't pass a state inspection speaks to the danger of serious personal injury due to exhaust fumes entering the cabin. Why have you not forced a recall? the manifolds being replaced have no design improvements to prevent future failures. Nissan needs to be forced to correct their design issues. Replacing failed parts with identical parts, that are sure to fail, is nothing more than retaliation for being forced to honor any sort of warranty and a "gotcha" to the consumer.
Exaust fumes in cabin due to cracked exaust manifolds. I only use the truck for family trips, and on the last trip I notices a ticking noise coming from the engine, especially when cold, I also noticed exaust fumes in the cabin when the truck was at a light or a long stop sign. I am the first owner of this truck and after some research it looks like this is a common problem with Nissan Titans but the worst part is that the replacments have the same issue, so now I can not use this vehicle. Looking to see what is the best permanent solution.
