1 Engine Knocking Noise problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 12/18/2013

Brought the car in August 2011. At every service I would report of knocking noise as if the car was in need of oil. I was repeatedly told that there is/was nothing wrong with the car. Again in December 2013, mileage was 17,000 I complained (very loudly) about the noise. . . . One of the tech's took it for a hard test drive and blow up the engine. They said my engine was gone and they needed to replace it which they did do. The only thing I have to ask should the warranty start over? I copied and pasted this but added my own stuff to it! you cannot detect a bad engine barring with a computer sensor. . . . You have to use your brain. . . . . . . Something that has gone with the times:(.

3 Engine Knocking Noise problem of the 2011 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Approximately 2 months after I purchased my 2011 Nissan Versa I noticed a knocking sound under the hood. It almost sounded as though the car was low of oil but this wasn't the case. I took it to the Nissan dealership and was told that "the valves or valve sleeves were cut too long during the machining process of the motor and they were tapping against the bottom of the motor". He explained to me that this should not cause any problems, however. . . After reading several other stories of what sounds like the same symptoms and then having to have the motor replaced I decided to write this in hopes of an investigation of a possible recall.
