I recently purchased my car on the 4th of November 2015, first everything was fine; but now when I drive, at the most random times the alarm for the passenger side air bag goes off (while no one is sitting there) and also if someone is sitting in the passenger side, it will read "airbag off".

Takata recall we have a 2009 and a 2011 Corolla under recall for fixing passenger side airbags. It has been 10 months since the original notice and we have not been contacted for a fix. Since the airbag can be deadly if deployed, this is totally unacceptable and we have not heard from Toyota in a long time about it. Please help. Thank you. Alan altany.

Takata recall: we received a notice dated 5. 23. 16 informing us of the recall on the passenger side airbag and that we would receive a 2nd notice when a remedy became available. We have not received a second notice and Toyota indicates [via website and phone call] a remedy is still not available and will not be until 2017. In the meantime, we have been told to "not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. " it does not appear that Toyota is resolving this issue in a "timely manner" and we are left without the full use of our vehicle.

Takata recall. We received a passenger side airbag recall (report date5/23/16) in mid July, 2016 ad took it to our Toyota dealer July 25, 2016 for repair. We were told that since we were in zone a and that our card had been in florida for 4 months of every year, and also its age, we were a top priority for the airbag replacement. More that three months have passed. We followed up with the dealer and were advised that Toyota have no idea when the replacements parts will be available for our car . We are aware that Toyotas and other auto makes are being repaired and seek assistance in getting ours repaired.
Takata recall. Nhtsa recall no. 15v-285 and 16v-127. This involves what appears to me to be slow walking of the installation of the recalled passenger side airbag for my vehicle. In response to the recall letter I received from Toyota (which is undated, but which I received on April 15, 2016), I called and requested that the replacement part be ordered on April 18, 2016 and I was advised by my local dealer (wolfchase Toyota) that it would be "4 to 6 weeks" before the part would be available. It is now the 6th week and the service department here cannot give me any idea as to when the part will actually arrive. Although I appreciate the NHTSA's attempt to address this issue through recall, if in fact parts are not going to be furnished to implement the remedy in a timely fashion, consumers are left paying the price by having to refrain from having any passengers sit in the front (a definite hardship when one's family contains enough people to fill the car). Because consumers are "on notice," liability is presumably reduced or eliminated for both takata and Toyota, while they further avoid the cost of recall implementation by just having the part "on order" in perpetuity.
Takata recall zone a - g0p (interim g1p) red zone. Nhtsa recall no. 16v-340. I received a takata passenger-side airbag recall notice a year ago may 2016 when I still lived in zone a florida. Toyota says it still hasn't found a remedy, whatever that means, and keeps telling me I can buy a new car. As you can imagine, I have some thoughts on what Toyota can do. Newspapers keep reporting that a lot of people haven't taken their vehicles in for takata recall repairs. I believe the real problem is that Toyota is dragging its feet. My daughter's Subaru had a takata recall this spring and her dealer fixed it the next week! we both live in columbus, OH now. I have to haul my grandchildren so I am very concerned about how Toyota is dragging its feet.
I took my vehicle in to john roberts Toyota, manchester, TN. And was promised a 'as soon as we can' replacement for passenger side airbag. That was may 04, 2016 and it is now may 27, 2016. 'as soon as we can' is over 23 days now.
********takata recall********* received the notice over a year ago. Still waiting. I was told because it is the passenger side air bag it is not a priority - but it is important enough to be told that I should not allow anyone to ride in the passenger seat until this is remedied. This is very inconvenient. They offer no help with a loaner car or help with paying for a rental vehicle until this is remedied!.
Takata recall- our Toyota still has the recalled airbag in place with no estimated time from Toyota on a fix. We are only told not to have someone in the passenger side of the car and to wait for them to notify us of a remedy. This is going on way to long and it is unexceptable to not be able to use our vehicle. They tell me they cannot disable the passenger side airbag in the interim.
I was notified by the dealership that a recall for passenger side airbags was currently in place. When I tried to make an appointment, they told me it would be a 4-6 month wait! that's a long time to be driving an unsafe vehicle or are they discriminating against an older model Toyota? anything I can do to speed this up?.
Toyota sends recall notices. For the past year dealer keeps telling us that they do not have the equipment necessary to make the repair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we keep calling, they keep telling us they can't make the repair or replace the passenger side airbag. Have contacted Toyota directly, Toyota did not seem interested in problem.
Takata recall - after getting my passenger airbag replaced in Feb 2016 from the takata2015 recall, I was advised by the dealer that now my driver side airbag needed to be replaced. Per the Toyota dealer invoice # 451453, "open in d squib circuit" aka spiral cable. This should be part of the takata recall but I haven't received any notification of such.
Takata recall I received a recall notice from Toyota in June 2015, letting me know about the problem with the passenger side airbag. In the notice, they said "until the remedy becomes available in your location, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. " since then I've contacted Toyota several times to try to find out when the replacement airbag would be available, but they are unable to give me any time frame whatsoever. Also, their representative who answered the phone at the toll-free number Toyota provided told me that if we don't feel safe in the vehicle, we could go to a Toyota dealer and request a replacement vehicle until Toyota is able to remedy our vehicle. When I went to the Toyota dealer with that information, they told me it wasn't true, and that they could not provide another vehicle. My concern is that Toyota is unable or unwilling to give me any kind of a time frame of when the replacement airbag will be available in our part of the country. Meanwhile, have decided to not use the front passenger seat, based on Toyota's recommendation, and that doesn't work for us. In addition, the resale value of the vehicle has decreased substantially because of the airbag problem. I feel that Toyota should do a better job of letting us know an approximate date for the replacement part, or they should provide us with a temporary replacement vehicle, as their own employee suggested from a phone number Toyota asked us to call.
I need my passenger side airbag safety recall situation addressed as soon as possible. We need and use our front passenger seat each and every day. That is how the family is structured. Please send parts for repair to be done as soon as possible. Does this aire bag problem effect the coolant fluid?.
Takata recall our car srs lights on , while diaganosed in Toyota service centre they found fault as 'an open in right side air bag harness' , for this they asked to replace the air bag harness at the cost of 1246. There is no accident or small collition till now. Then how this air bag problem will come. May be air bag quality is not good. Also for diagnosed they billed $122. This is too costly. Since we have not touched anything in this part how this kind of air bag issue is coming. Please help us on this issue. Is Toyota service called us for fix this air bag issue without cost then it would be appreciated.
I have been notified that my 2006 Toyota Corolla has a safety recall notice stating that the passenger side airbag could potentially deploy causing metal fragments to pass through the cushion of the airbag which could cause serious injury and/or death to the vehicle occupants. I have called Toyota motor sales in torrance, California and have been told that there is no timeline of when the airbag will be replaced. I strongly believe that is totally unreasonable not to have a tentative date of replacement and not offer stipends for rental vehicles or even a free inspection of the airbag in question. Toyota currently and has been putting my life in danger as well the occupants of my vehicle on a daily basis.
Takata recall. The contact owned a 2008 Toyota Corolla. While driving approximately 35 mph, the driver crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags deployed and the front passenger side air bag deployed violently. The driver sustained bruising to the face and the front passenger sustained a severe contusion from the lower abdominal area to the breast, a fractured sternum, and a bruised face. The passenger required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v127000 (air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Toyota has issued me a safety recall notice indicating that the passenger-side airbag could cause serious injury or death. They have warned me not to have anyone in the front passenger seat, yet they have not provided any details about replacement parts or timeline - other than to say that it will happen sometime in the future. This is not a solution, nor is it helpful.

Dear NHTSA, today we received an interim recall notice on our 2007 Toyota Corolla instructing us not to drive the car with a front passenger. I contacted Toyota to explain that we purchased this car specifically for my 16 year old daughter who currently has her ohio temporary drivers license. Per this interim letter, Toyota is telling us that she cannot drive this car we purchased specifically for her. Ohio temporary driver licenses require a licensed front passenger. I was given Toyota case #1508103451 by the Toyota representative. I requested one of the initial recall repair appointments available. The Toyota representative refused, and advised me to call a local Toyota dealership to get on an initial call back list. I called metro Toyota in cleveland, ohio at 888. 439. 0914. The service representative advised me that they are not making appointments or taking phone numbers for Toyota call back appointments. The metro Toyota service representative also advised it may be two months to two years before they receive parts for the takata passenger side airbag recall replacements. I am extremely disappointed in both Toyota corporate USA and metro Toyota. Both parties appeared to be unconcerned with rendering my 2007 Corolla useless for my daughter to drive for possibly two years. I believe Toyota needs to step to the plate and offer us a replacement vehicle in safe non-recall condition in exchange for our 2007 Corolla if they cannot provide us with a timely recall repair. My daughter needs a vehicle to drive. Best regards.
A month ago I received a recall notice from Toyota for the front passenger side airbag, alerting me that it is unsafe to transport passengers in the car at this time. This is exceptionally inconvenient, as I have a chronically ill partner who needs to be driven to doctor's appointments, etc. I am writing to complain about what I believe is an unreasonable amount of time for the company to supply the part.

Received notice for recall regarding front passenger side airbag four months ago and have not been notified as to time frame for repairs. Temporary remedy severely limits use of my car. Problem has been known for several years and want my car fixed.
The remedy for the defective passenger side air bags is not within a reasonable time. The recall was known may 13, 2015 and the parts to correct are still not available. How long does it take to correct this error??? it is most annoying to not be able to use my front passenger seat. I am loosing my faith in Toyota. A Toyota owner since 1977.
Fluid leaking from passenger side air bag and sometimes can hear a fluid running sound near passenger side air area.
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Corolla. While driving 10 mph and attempting to avoid crashing into a vehicle, the contact crashed into a tree. The driver side air bag deployed, but did not inflate. The contact sustained injuries to the right leg, both shoulders, and neck. The contact did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
I was driving brand new vehicle only 2 hours old . I was in extreme right lane when tractor trailer from middle lane attempted to change lanes ,into my lane severely impacting drivers side of vehicle no side air bags deployed and traffic in front of me came to a sudden unexpected slow down and I impacted vehicle in front of me and again no air bags deployed also when tractor trailer hit me I immediately hit brakes and both front tires exploded. No safety items in car deployed causing me to have multiple injuries.

2003 Toyota Corolla. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle driver side and passenger side airbags issues. Consumer sent additional correspondence. The consumer was informed the parts were not available.
Stopped at stop light to make left had turn. Was waved on by driver in opposite lane as I started to make the turn I was hit by on coming car. Upon impact all air bags deployed, including side air bags which shouldn't of happened since the impact of the car was in the front. The side air bag hit the passenger which caused him to be injured.
The contact owned a 2003 Toyota Corolla. While driving 8 mph leaving a parking lot, the driver side air bag deployed without an impact occurring. A police report was filed for the incident. The contact sustained minor injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v285000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.
Takata recall my son hit by inflated driver side air bag on 18th dec2014 at university of houston resulted due to passenger side tire hit the curb right side of road curb . This may happen due to passenger side front tire blew after hitting the curb ( guess) because car passenger end strut touched the curb and got damaged . It also damaged the fire wall . The car was with normal in campus speed 25 mph . Tires were new & had replaced just three months before accident . Police called 911 & he has been transported to st. Joseph hospital , downtown - houston due to sever injuries due to air bag inflate . I was shocked due to deep cut on his forehead , few facial cuts & fractured nose . I called Toyota customer center in first week on Jan 2015 to inform about air bag injury & investigate probable cause , but they denied and told me such injury can take place due air bag impact . My intention was to avoid such injuries to all others but no positive response I received from Toyota . In 1st week of July 2017 , I received the notice about recall of air bag at my previous resident address . After reading the notice , I got shocked because of Toyota's stand in 2015 . I called Toyota & asked them to investigate the matter but the case manger informed that the recall is associated with passenger side air bag & nothing to do driver side air bag . Attached case number & letter for your reference . I haven't heard back from them , need to resolve the issue . Car is still running without driver end air bag .
