Driver's side power window stopped working. Mileage approx. 126,123. Toyota dealer said window regulator assembly and motor needed to be replaced. I specifically asked if the master power window switch was involved, because Toyota just sent out recall 15v689000 saying the master power window switch in some Toyota vehicles could melt or overheat. Toyota assured me that no, the switch was not involved. I took the van to another shop for repair. They replaced the window regulator assembly and motor, as per Toyota diagnosis. The window still did not work! and when the master switch was depressed, the control panel began to visibly smoke! to further test, the shop supplied separate power to my original window regulator assembly and motor - and they worked fine. The shop then re-installed my original window regulator assembly and motor, and replaced the master switch. The window now works. Toyota clearly missed the boat on this one. The switch failed and the fact that it visibly smoked means that it does, indeed, fall under the recall. This repair should be covered or reimbursed under the Toyota recall. And yes, the Sienna is affected.

While driving on 4 lane highway, I began to smell burning rubber, then noticed that the battery discharge indicator light came on. Found that the serpentine belt driving the alternator and compressor had been shredded and and was hanging to the ground. Upon a closer look, the crankshaft pulley had failed (it had come apart). It appeared that the outer ring had separated from the rubber inner ring of the pulley and the outer ring had become misaligned. The misalignment appeared to have caused the serpentine belt failure. It also caused damage to the timing belt cover, the timing belt and the power steering belt. The battery light came on because of the failed serpentine belt. Fortunately, I maintained power steering because the power steering belt had not completely failed when I pulled off the highway. The failure seems to be identical to that covered by safety recall NHTSA campaign number: 11v539000. However, Toyota claims that my VIN number is not subject to the recall. Toyota's response to me does not make sense since this is the same model, same model year, same engine model, same parts manufacture (pulley contains the mark noted in the recall), same manufacture date (Feb. 2005), etc of the vehicles covered by the recall. Seems that the recall has not covered all of the vehicles affected by this failure. My vehicle was purchased new on September 15, 2005.

In Nov 2013, the battery light on the dashboard turned on. Within a few minutes of that happening, the vehicle stalled while driving and would not move again. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the dealer discovered that the car’s alternator needed to be replaced. In Jan 2014, the battery light turned on again, so I drove the vehicle back to the dealer, where they claimed that the problem was once again with the alternator. They replaced the Sienna’s alternator again. In Mar 2014, the battery light came on yet again. I brought it into the dealer for a third time, but this time the dealer claimed to be unable to find any problems with the car’s electrical system. He returned it to me with advice to bring it back in if the problem continued. After the third dealer visit for the battery light issue, we still saw that the battery light would light up on several occasions. The dealer made it clear that I should only bring in the car if the battery light was on so that they could diagnose the problem. However, the intermittent times that it was on would not line up well with the dealer’s repair shop’s schedule. I have recorded video evidence that the car exhibits the battery light issue outside of dealer hours and sent it back to Toyota. I have tried to contact Toyota through both the dealer and directly. I have even filed a claim through California's lemon law. Toyota denied my claim, saying that they conformed my vehicle to the terms of the warranty within a reasonable number of opportunities. Despite this, the problem persists. It has been over half a year since the problem started, and I still do not know if my vehicle is safe to drive in. I fear that one day it may stall again without warning while driving on the road and put my loved ones and myself in danger. Toyota's handling of the situation has been slow and puts my family's safety in danger.

I experience battery drain that will empty my battery if I completely shut off the van, remove the keys, and remain in the van for longer than 10 minutes. This occurs after testing the alternator and replacing the battery. It happened the month after I purchased the van at just one year old. I have at the same time experienced the front headlight burning out and/or going out repeatedly. I believe there is something innately causing battery drain having to do with the headlight or the pressure sensor of the seat that the passenger sits in.

Toyota (2004 Sienna) seat heater burned a hole through the leather on drivers seat. Toyota (judy faul) interviewed me/my case and submitted to terrence chu (regulatory affairs). He wrote me a letter 3 months later and said Toyota was not at fault because I had a towel (8"x8" baby burp cloth) adjacent to my leg (left outer thigh) and the owners manual states "not to use an insulating object" with the seat heater operating. He never contacted me for clarification on the incident. I have been denied access to anyone at Toyota. The dealer (peoria, IL) said they will repair for $1337, but will not support me to repair the damage the faulty heater created. I can see their logic if sitting on a stack of towles, but not a rag, of which the consistency is less than the ski pants worn (with the heater operating) or my wife sweater dresses in the same manner. Personal friends (torry olsen) had the same year van and the same problem. Toyota repaired theirs as it was under warranty. The heater element is still hooked up (and dangerous) and Toyota will not service unless we pay.

My 2004 Toyota Sienna xle limited's alternator belt got cut and the vehicle immediately stopped on the road and had to be taken to a Toyota dealer. The dealer says my vehicle had a "catastrophic ac failure" which caused the belt to break and says it will cost $2400 in parts and $1600 in labor. He then contacted Toyota and said that Toyota will pay for the parts. This problem seems to happen a lot on this model, I searched on the internet and could find a lot of people with the same issues and Toyota has still not done any recall on the ac unit. Since this seems to a total design flaw, I would like Toyota to pick up the full tab for this repair. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
1. We bought Toyota Sienna 2007 le #3 on July 21, 2007
2. After 2 weeks on Aug 4 2007 maintenance required and all other lights were on and ac was stopped working. We called the dealer and he scheduled earliest appointment on August 7 2007. 3. On August 6 2007 Toyota Sienna broke down on interstate and I towed this van to the dealer. 4. Dealer first found problem with the alternator and replaced alternator in a week. 5. Then he found another problem as two computer inside car were not functioning properly and he worked with Toyota specialists and order replacements of computer harness equipment. 6. After installing these new equipment he found that all the lights on the dash board are turned on with this vehicle. 7. He scheduled inspection to resolve this issue by Toyota technicians. They are flying in from California to resolve this.

Approximately a month ago the clock lost the time. 4/28/04 mileage 42k driving on nh highway rte 3 so. Approaching the bedford toll in the highspeed lane (40-45 miles per hour) through a construction zone when the vehicle lost all power!
enough speed left to pull into the left barrier and put the vehicle in park. Third attempt to start the vehicle and the power was regained. Autofair Toyota dealer ship indicated that Toyota had forwarded a champaign. Toyota corporate customer service indicated that the champaign is a service bulletin only and not to be confused with a recall. However, no warning light ever came on in the vehicle when this happened. Not check battery, check engine, nothing!.
