While traveling home in wet conditions, my friend lost control of the vehicle striking 2 full size pine trees and two electric poles, basically we bounced from one to the other hitting the front head on and front left and right before coming to a stop on top of a fire hydrant. . . The only airbag to deploy was the drivers steering airbag. I was obviously sitting in the passenger seat and due to the passenger airbag not deploying I slammed my head into the dash before the seatbelt locked. This needs to be looked into and researched, my friend and myself could have and probably should be dead due to the airbag defect in these vehicles, there are multiple complaints regarding this style Yaris that's pertaining to the same issue.

The srs airbag warning light started lighting up periodacally and then eventually stayed on. Ran an obd test that showed the clock spring was shorted. This is located in the steering wheel behind the airbag. Have seen many online complanits on this issue and feel a recall is in order. This is not a cheap dealer repair (more than $500) and can be a serious safty issue if the airbags do not deploy in a crash. It really needs to be ungently looked into before life or limb is lost, if it hasn't happened already.

While my daughters were travelling north on the freeway an oncoming vehicle driven by an elderly lady entered the freeway going in the wrong direction. It was night time and it was raining. I was recently involved in a motor vehicle accident. I was driving down a main road at approximately 37 mph. There was another vehicle (SUV) which was stopped at a stop sign. The vehicle pulled out in front of my vehicle and the front end of my vehicle collided with the side of the other vehicle. The front of my 2008 Toyota Yaris had a lot of damage including the bumper and hood being pushed completely out of place. It did cause bodily injuries to me including an injured back and neck. Additionally, I believe I have re-torn ligaments in which I previously had surgically repaired. My major concern is that my airbag did not deploy.

On 12/19/2009 I was in a car accident on the northern state parkway I hit the guard rail cement divider at 40 miles an hour. My air bags did not deploy. The imprint of the square seat belt buckle is still visible on her chest. She is a senior citizen, and is still in very serious pain. No one else should have to suffer the pain and suffering that my mother is going through now. The car is now in the body shop incurring many thousands of dollars worth of damage.

I noticed other failures concerning the same type of vehicle, same year I hope that odi will make Toyota fix this problem before someone dies in a crash.

Going 35 mph south on paved road, it had just started raining, I slowed down to due to deer in the road, instead of slowing down, my car when into a complete 180 spin, had no control, the anitlock brakes did not kick in, my air bags did not deploy. I feel that my car should have responded more effectively, to me pumping the brakes, but instead, I landed in the ditch. Car was just reported to me as a total loss.
