The car is in the shop every week I have had it towed 12 times since may. I took it in for the recall (electrical issued recently) the vehicle ran great, now the dealership says I need 3 new injectors. The injectors are bad. I am reading reviews and others stated their BMW's need new injectors. So is their a recall for injectors I did not see? the car stahled while I was driving it stopped in the middle of the road.

I was stopped at a traffic light when smoke began arising from my right front wheel and was followed by flames. . . I had had my car in for ac malfunctioning earlier in the the summer and asked about the recall relative to motor blower wiring. . They said at BMW not the problem and no fix yet available . . The contact owned a 2007 BMW 335. While driving 55 mph, an abnormal odor drifted through the air vents and the vehicle caught on fire. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the fire was coming from the engine compartment. The local fire department extinguished the fire and a police report was filed. There were no injuries; however, the contact inhaled smoke. The vehicle continues to stahl and now the dealer said it was the high/low fuel pumps and injectors which cost more than the vehicle. I am stuck making payments this car is junk and the car needs to be recalled. . . . . . Every month I have a problem since October the vehicle has been in the shop 12 times. Poor fuel injectors cause bad emmision injectors become faulty and cause less fuel being delivered to the combustion chamber. In turn, cause lean burning, high nox emission. BMW should cover the cost to correct this issue, (changed out the fuel injectors). The engine stalled multiple times driving on the highway. When I turn off the car and turn on the car, it would go back to normal. I researched this is a problem for 335d, I think im experiencing the same problem, not sure why 335i is not included in the recall list. This happened multiple times for me and I ignored it at that time, other person has also experienced the same issue when he was driving my car. Now the electrical battery power is completely shut off and there is no recall, this really bothers me.

Blower motor recall. My BMW caught on fire on 5/17/2018. I believe it may be related to the current recall concerning engine fires in several model lines. It was parked in my driveway. Had been turned off for over 1 1/2 hours. Damage was primarily isolated to the front and rear. Fire department was called and arrived within 3 minutes to extinguish the fire. Comments made by arson investigators were odd burn patterns. First thought was electrical related fire. They had to call back fire fighters due to worry the battery would reignite.

Have not heard back from dealer for air bag recall. Car is also producing smoke in engine bay and strong smell of burning through vents is present. Receive notice of recall for blower motor wiring but the car is definitely well in need of recall service as smoke is very visible and burnin order is very apparent in engine bay and through vents.

While driving the car the reduced power message came on, drove car for another 15 minutes home, at home in the driveway opened the hood and saw that the engine was glowing red on passenger side, very hot under the hood, within minutes flames ignited and black smoke came from under the hood. We ran for water hose and put out the fire. Vehicle now has multiple error messages due to damaged wire harness according to BMW dealer, wire harness will need to be replaced before full understanding of the condition of the car can be determined.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i for about 4 years. Last month I was driving the car home after picking it up from dealer. I brought the car to the dealer because the crankshaft sensor failed and also went for the battery recall. Driving back from the dealer back to my apartment was about 30-40 minutes. So right when I pulled into the apartment parking lot, I noticed my trunk was smoking through my rear view mirror. I quickly tried to park somewhere empty, then I got out and I saw the rear end of the car was flaming up. It took less than 20 minutes, the entire car was covered with fire. Since the fire started from the rear, I am sure that's the battery wire connection that caused this. I am frustrated because I dd this car and only happen after the service from the dealer. Also why BMW design and position the freaking battery and wires behind the gas tank?.

The car has had numerous issues since purchased. This all came to a head when driving home, under normal conditions, it suddenly would not shift past 1st gear. I proceeded to pull off to a side street and attempt to idle home, as I was about 1 mile from home. After approximately . 5 mile, the transmission suddenly lost first gear, there was an audible bang under the hood, and the car completely lost power. After being in a service center for a couple weeks, I am now informed that the engine is locked down and that the car will require a new engine to be working again. This car had been an absolute nightmare and has turned me quite calloused towards Bmws quality standards.

Fuel injectors are faulty.

While driving on the freeway going to work, around 5:30 in the morning, the power train warning light came on the screen. . , while on sport mode selected I noticed that my rpm was close to 3k doing 65 mph. , the vehicle slowed down to 45 miles per hour and had no power. . , I was able to pull over the shoulder and tried several times to re-start the car to no avail. , I had the car towed to the nearest BMW dealership, and they diagnosed it as a bad high pressure fuel pump. They replaced the pump the same day, test drove it and everything is back to normal. The repair was covered under warranty, I sent the towing expenses to the BMW road side assistance for reimbursement. , said it will take a few weeks to get it in the mail. .

Drive train malfunction has occurred twice in which the cars output is minimized. We were on one highway, connecting with another and went to accelerated to merge with traffic and the car would not accelerate. Top speed was 40mph. The second time we could at least do 65mph. Occurred 7/5/16 and 9/19/16.

BMW 335i 2007 has (x3)three times now, the vehicle was traveling during the daylight hours at highways speeds of 65-70mph in the number 1 far left lane of (CA 101 fwy) in may of 2016 when the vehicle displayed ¿engine temperature was high, and that the car needed to be driven at a moderate speed¿. Immediately took my foot off the accelerator and began to coast in idle state to the shoulder (CA 101 fwy) 5 lanes over. Before I was able to move to the 3rd lane the vehicle stated ¿engine to hot¿, turned off, lost power (much like if you run out of gas), and I frightfully merged creeping along to the shoulder narrowly missed being hit by several other trucks and vehicles. I went to lift the hood, expecting to be overwhelmed by heat and conditions that would cause a BMW to disable suddenly and lose power. My vehicles fuel consumption has worsened. Headlights flickers. Vehicle goes into limp mode often. Vehicle feels like it's choking or running on less cylinders. I have to constantly change my clock. Misfiring still occurring even after tune up. Loss of power. Waste gate rattle.

While parking car in usual parking lot at work, 8:30 am, turning wheels to left, car suddenly accelerated on it's own without any warning, causing car to jump over parking bumper, through concrete block wall and continued to ram into private home, making home unsafe to enter. All this caused $14000. 00, now, updated to $19000. 00 damage to the car, not including the cost of damage to the wall and building. BMW dealership will not look into the accelerator cables etc. . . Says it is not an issue with this incident. This should be investigated further as safety of occupants / pedestrians and other vehicles could be in jeopardy! p. S. We have not driven the car yet since it has been at the BMW body shop since December 8 2015. Car is second owned by us. We bought car at 6k miles and now has 10k miles. My wife is scared of getting behind the wheel and driving the car.

On 8/21/2015, I was driving my 2009 BMW 335d to work when it suddenly lost power and started spewing smoke on jefferson Ave. I pulled over near my work and saw smoke seeping in from the steering column. I exited the vehicle immediately and opened the hood and saw that the engine compartment was on fire. I ran inside my workplace and grabbed a fire extinguisher and cautiously returned to the vehicle. I was able to put out the fire. After filing a claim with state farm, the claims adjuster and plaza motor company BMW came to the determination that the car's wiring harness malfunctioned and that they're going to replace it. But that's not my issue. I'm concerned with how the fire started in the first place. Plaza motors nor state farm can tell me why or how it happened but they are willing to replace the defective part and have me drive the vehicle again without any assurances that this will never happen again. I was fortunate enough to had exited the vehicle before the car was engulfed in flames and I was also fortunate enough to had been close to a fire extinguisher. My complaint is that I feel like my claim is being handled in a very leisurely, run-of-the-mill manner akin to changing a flat tire or a dented bumper. But a car spontaneously catching fire is anything but typical. Plaza motors and state farm's casual nature is disconcerting to say the least. I do not feel safe driving this car ever again. I don't feel like BMW is taking any responsibility for their catch spontaneously catching fire. Also, one week prior to the fire, I had a diagnostics test conducted on my car by autohaus BMW in st. Louis, mo and the two minor issues were unrelated to the electrical fire.

On Saturday 8/8/15, I was parking my BMW 335i car to get groceries, and while entering the parking spot, the engine began racing out of control. I hit the brakes hard, but the car would not stop. I tried to shift into neutral, but the shift control was locked in drive and would not move. Lastly I finally hit the stop engine button, and the car finally stopped, but not after I had bumped into the car in front of me in my parking space. As I was resting against the bumper of the car in front of me, I had been able to move the shifter after stopping the car's engine into park, and re-started the car. The engine idled at 7000 rpm, totally racing again. I turned the engine off and sat there for about two minutes. I turned the engine on again, and it finally idled normally at 800-1000 rpm, put it in reverse, and backed off the bumper of the car in front of me. I got out, and saw no damage thankfully, but was very afraid of this out of control car behavior that I experienced. I now know to hit the stop button if the brakes just don't work well enough if this unintended acceleration issue happens again. I am contacting my dealership to see if they are aware of this issue in the 335i, and see if they can effect a repair.

While accelerating from a stop into traffic, the charge pipe leading from turbo to engine ruptured causing a dangerous loss of power which resulted in a near collision. BMW uses plastic for the charge pipe which is easily cracked under normal turbo boost loads.

This is a know fault problem that is directly tied to emissions of the deisel engine starting at 2008-2012 for all BMW deisel engines. Maybe even newer models. This so called scr temperature sensor that is located inside the def (urea) tank fails, which in term fails the smog inspection if it is not replaced. Some owners and dealers have replaced this tank/sensor ( which is one part together, cant buy separately) under emissions warenty. But most dealers will deny the fact this system is the primary system of emmission. And if it's not working how intended I'm sure emissions of this car won't meetc the federal or state requirment. Please look into this and get this fixed/ added to the emmission system failure list.

When starting car engine, its take a long time to crank up and get the engine going. It also sound really weak unlike when I first bought it. Engine also show warning engine malfunction light up from time to time.

The engine malfunction "reduced power " message keeps coming on and off , low engine oil message keeps coming on even though its good on oil , the steering wheel was hard to turn while I was driving causing me to have to pull over and turn the car off and back on and the steering was ok after that. It's currently being looked at my the dealer where I purchased it only 3 months ago.

My car might have turbo charger issue that was settle under class action in 2010 . I'm being charged for repairs that will able BMW to make diagnosis for that problem at first for vacuum turbo lines almost for 1000 dollars and today for some other issue another 500. I'm being pressured by BMW to fix it or quit. The extended warranty is only till 82 thousand miles. So either I pay or end up not knowing if my car has this issue. When I was driving and trying to speed to pass another vehicle my engine light came on saying that engine is not working in full capacity and to slow down or stop. . . Pls help me to resolve that issue. Thank you. I called BMW or northern America and spoke with sky and was told that it is what it is and I have to pay since the mechanics know better what needs to be done. When I asked for somebody that is in direct relations with BMW of germany I was told that he is the top of the line person and entity in his self. I feel that anything related to this issue should be cover by BMW not me.
