On Chevrolet 2007 Impala ltz passenger automatic airbag sensor does not turn air bag control on when my wife who was 5'4" tall and weighed 92 lbs occupied the seat. I had the car evaluated by Chevrolet service department, and I was informed that all sensors were working according to design. This meant that there was no way of turning the air bag to function as intended since this was a weight sensitive control. I have been informed by Chevrolet customer service that there was no fix for this unsafe condition.

The contact took the car to the dealer (graff Chevrolet ) they told him that the tire pressure monitor on over half of their new Impalas don't work properly; and that they did not know why the air bag system lost its coding, but they did reinstall a new code.

Rain water leaking in underneath dash into passenger floor board somehow shorting out the airbag system. Have heard of other Impalas having same problem. Has been a continuos problem since a couple months after purchase from dealer. Asked dealer about this problem and they want to charge lots of money to "leak test" it but denied any kind of factory defect or design flaw. Have searched internet and found quite a few other poeple with same car having similar problems. Havent had money to correct problem.

On my 2001 Chevrolet Impala, an air bag light was on. The gm dealership in new richmond WI, replaced an airbag module in October. A few weeks later I noticed online that there was a recall for my car, that being the airbag module that was changed. So I brought in the recall information to the gm dealership and they said my VIN doesn't show up as being part of the recall, so they couldn't help. But they said I could call up gm. So I called the Chevrolet customer assistance center at 1-800-222-1020. They also said that my car wasn't part of the recall. With having the right year, make, model, and replacing the exact part that was recalled, I believe my car should have been apart of the recall. Can you help? joel hetzel.
