Power steering went out and water pump.
Having steering and turning problems. Looking to be the electronic steering pump.
Eps (electronic power steering) went out randomly while stopped at a gas station. Steering wheel began to twitch and the electronic power steering goes in and out. Car was stationary, started, placed in reverse and moved from a parking spot to a gas pump. When I turned the vehicle off and back on, the eps was out. After cycling power a few times, the eps comes back. Once you turn off the car it goes back to not working. My year make and model were all a part of a recall for the eps, but gm states it does not apply to my VIN. No dealer will attempt to help fix this problem. This is ridiculous considering its the same problem that was already recalled for other vins of the same make year and model. See gm bulletin 14116 and dcs3206.
The power steering keeps going out while I'm driving. The brakes fell when all of the break lights come on. . When I try to pump gas the gas comes back out at me.
My power steering keeps locking up on me and will not allow me to turn. It locks up while im drving on the highway and it locks up some time when I start the car up. Also my furl pump failed. It does not read telling me how much fuel I have in my tank.
Steering was clunking and making other noises that made me question my safety. Took to dealer and had the repair done under extended 10 year/150,000 mile warranty with $49. 50 as my deductible. Car is now making same noises 18 months later. Awaiting my chevy dealer to get steering pump in stock so as to get repairs done and apply for reimbursement for initial repair due to recall.
My daughter was driving her car and for no reason the car just shuts off. This has happened 3 times in the last weeks. The car also on 6 occasions would not start(has brand new battery) won't turn over, my daughter has been stranded several times. After a $400. 00 fuel pump replacement , which after it was replaced the car , other cars which are just shutting off while they are being driven. This is very dangerous to lose all power while driving!. And as well there have been numerous car owners who have replaced fuel pumps, which did not solve the problem. The car now has had the ignition replace as the mechanics "think:"its the security system!. To date the repairs are hitting $1,000. Also the turning signals, radio and a/c all work intermittently. I am no mechanic but seems there is electrical/security systems issues with these cars. The forums are loaded with car owners having the same issues! but of course they are so varied that most not reported to you!and we all know the garages don't report all issues! thanks for your help!.
2005 Malibu maxx have a "power steering motor (electrical)" versus a power steering pump. The vehicle losses power steering due to electrical issues (3500 rpm see tbs 08-02-32-005) my vehicle had this happen dealership said it was due to time/mileage failure of steering column sensor. . . . . I had to pay $1200. 00 for new column and motor for what I believe is a safety and design flaw.
I bought a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu new in 2005. Since then, we repeatedly lost steering with the car. I was only recently made aware that there were ¿issues with the power steering motor on these vehicles. They do not have the conventional power steering pump, but have an electrical power steering ¿motor. No recall was issued. Gm knew. I visited my local junkyard the other day. There are many of these cars with front end damage. I can only surmise how many accidents/injuries/fatalities were the result of this steering flaw. Gm never informed me of the potential risks. (I did not move or change address. ) I found out via the internet. I now see where gm is involved in yet another safety issue, ignition switches. Is there an investigation ongoing on these steering issues? someone is going to get killed.
