My 2001 S10 died, and would not start, when I checked the battery, the positive battery cable fell off, along with part of the battery. Corrosion on the positive battery cable, also caused the end of the cable to fall off easily. Truck had to be towed home. New battery, and aftermarket battery cable treminal seems to have fixed the problem. Truck only had 41000 miles on it, and already out of warranty.
Battery post ruptured and damaged the wires causing rust to occur on all area affected battery cable and starter. Yh.
