Chevrolet Silverado owners have reported 9 problems related to automatic transmission control module (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
In June of 2017, I bought a new Chevrolet Silverado. It runs great no problems. In November 2017 I called to make an appointment to have the oil changed. The service department told me that there is a recall on the chuggle drive quality. The service did what was needed to be done. I had to make a 5-hour trip up north when I noticed that my truck wasn't running like it was before the recall was done. I noticed that the transmission was shifting hard. When the cylinder deactivation went to 4 cylinders the engine lugs. Before the recall was done I couldn't tell when the cylinder activation was switching to 4 cylinders back to 8 cylinders it ran very smoothly no lugging of the engine. What concerns me now is when I was driving an went to make a left turn at slow speed the transmission downshifted hard where the back wheels locked up. Went through a drive through after I placed the order proceeded to the window my truck lunged forward from first gear to second gear. I am glad that no one was in front of me. I have taken it to the service department at the dealership several times. Was told nothing was wrong no codes came up. Even called gm got nowhere with them. The chuggle drive is a reprogramming of the transmission control module. Gm trying to fix one problem created another problem. I pull a 5000-pound camper with this truck with the issues I am having now with the transmission shifting hard and engine lugging I am afraid it might cause me to have an accident. My truck ran perfectly before the chuggle drive quality recall was done. The recall has to be the problem. It's not a good fix.

Onsumer is not satisfied with this vehicle. Dealership had vehicle for thirty days over two month period. Consumer heard a grinding noise underneath the hood . Front four wheel drive differential was replaced. Also, steering wheel had a lot of play, and was replaced with upper and lower shaft/ transmission wouldn't shift into second and third gears. Dealership reprogramed pcm, and the transmission still doesn't operate at all. The back window flew open from the third door.
When in overdrive gear at approximately 45 mph and going up a grade or tiny hill, vibration would occur, coming from drivetrain. Consumer could feel it through floor. Dealer reprogrammed pcm, but defect still occurred.
