Chevrolet Silverado owners have reported 7 problems related to automatic transmission park/neutral start switch (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While vehicle was in park consumers wife was standing outside of vehicle when turned on ignition, and pawl jumped from park into reverse. Vehicle rolled backwards, dragging wife with the door open. Vehicle stopped and crashed into another vehicle. Dealer could not determine what could have happened. Consumer feels accident was caused by a faulty park or neutral switch.

Consumer was at stop sign and when light turned green he proceeded to cross the intersection. Vehicle shifted to first gear and into reverse, and stripped reverse gear out due electrical part inside of transmission. Dealership was aware of problem.

While vehicle was in park it juimped out of gear and into reverse, and hit a trailer, causing a crash. Vehicle was still in "parked" position. When the vehicle could not get traction on ice/snow, the driver stopped the vehicle and put into park but the vehicle suddenly moved in reverse.
While driving and coming to a stop vehicle will jump into neutral. Then, jumps back into drive with acceleration, almost hitting vehicle in front. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated that there was a problem with these vehicles.
Truck was in park and 4wd low parked o a 14 degree hill with engine faciang up the road; truck jumped out of park while operator was behind the truck and rolled backwards down the hill.
