2 Battery Dead problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 11/27/2020

When attempting to start from a stop at an intersection when the auto start/stop function has stopped the engine, the vehicle will frequently hesitate to start, then once started exhibits unusual engine/transmission behavior. This truck is now on its fifth check-engine light service for identical failures of the auto start/stop function. The gm onstar diagnostics reports indicate 2 failure modes, one with the engine/transmission and the other with the lithium-ion battery. I have several concerns. 1, I may be stranded at an intersection with a vehicle that will not restart and/or has stalled in the intersection and 2, the lithium-ion battery will fail catastrophically leading to a vehicle fire.

3 Battery Dead problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 08/24/2020

The truck has had the battery die a few times over the past couple weeks for no apparent reason. Then we let it sit for a week and go to start it and all of our warning lights come on and lots of warnings start flashing across the screen stating reduced engine output, etc. The truck won't start. We hook it up to my husbands work van to charge the battery (per the request of the dealer) and it finally starts, but when it starts, the entire instrument cluster was out. We couldn't see anything. We let it sit overnight and started it again the next day and still nothing on the instrument cluster. The dealer sent a tow to pick it up. The look it over and can't find anything wrong with it. They disconnect the battery, reconnect the battery and now say it's fine. They want to charge us a fee because they couldn't find anything wrong with the truck, but obviously something was wrong or this wouldn't have happened.

4 Battery Dead problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

Frequently when driving truck will do some or all of the following things, door locks locking and unlocking, dash lights flashing, stereo coming on and off, electronic stability control turns off, all lights, exterior and interior, turn off and on sometimes staying off long enough at night will scare you, truck speeds up but then sometimes losing power. All of those things happen when the truck is in motion. I drive on the highway every day which is bad when truck does these things. Not a safe situation for me. Then sometimes when you turn it off you hear a loud clicking noise. If you do nothing battery will be dead when you try to start it next time. I can get it to stop the clicking by raising hoo I and tapping on positive battery can I let or the mega fuse that is on the firewall. Chevrolet has recalled the 2008 trucks for something similar to this. I.

5 Battery Dead problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 02/13/2019

Battery died due to headlights coming on while car was parked. Lights can not be shut off from switch, opening the hood I detected electrical smell. I removed the fuse box cover and noticed water collecting and stains. I pulled several fuses and found three that melted. All this happened after a ice storm followed by a warming up and melting trend the water collected on the fender brace and leaked into under hood fuse block. I replaced the fuse block and all is ok. Though fuses were melted apart they still made contact and easily could have started a fire. I drilled holes into fender braces and redirected the water.

7 Battery Dead problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/08/2012

Hypothetical situation 1: electrical fire in car, shorts our power to passenger compartment. Electric windows won't work, power door locks won't work. On gm vehicles, with power door locks there is no way to escape from the passenger compartment. Outcome: serious injury or death hypothetical situation 2: vehicle submerged in water shorting out power. No way to escape, as electric windows don't work and power locks don't work. Outcome: serious injury or death hypothetical situation 3: sitting in vehicle, hot summer day, fuse blows, electrical short, or battery dies, with windows up, and doors locked, no way to escape short of breaking window, if able. Needless to say, gm vehicles with power windows and power door locks have a safety issue. Simple solution do as all other auto manufactures do, connect door handles to open door even if locked.

My truck will not start all the time. 60 days after purchasing new truck I started having many dead batteries. I was receiving emails from onstar at same time telling me they had diagnosed my truck the preceding night. I advised onstar to stay out of my truck because of the problem. I pick up truck 1/20/2009. 1/21/2009 I started truck with my remote, got in truck, inserted key and then turned off motor. I tried to start it again and truck would not start. I waited an hour and tried truck again. The truck started. I drove it immediately to a different dealer. Gm called me 1/23/2009 and said they could not find any problem with my truck. I have had this problem for 12 different times. One time the radio was overheated when battery was dead, but lately the battery is not dead. This truck is proving to be very unreliable and I am very frustrated. Can you help me!.

This vehicle is 9 months old. From purchase of the new vehicle there was a rattling noise under the dash - dealership replaced flex pipes. The noise has come back about 6 months later. From purchase of the new vehicle the left driver side mirror shakes, am unable to see out of it. Under the driver side seat, the truck shakes. Dealership refuses to admit these problems exist. The valves are clattering in the engine compartment while driving, not just with accelerating. Rotors act as though they are warped. Upon resetting the oil change indicator light, the battery failed.
