1 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 09/27/2020

My battery is draining. I put $300 worth of parts in it and come to find out it is an electrical issue that other people with Suburbans are having as well. It caused my brake light to stop working even with new bulbs, there is a burning smell coming from my air vents, my battery is draining while I'm driving the car, my dash lights went out for no reason and sometimes the radio doesn't want to work or the locks. I will hit u lock but sometimes I have to hit the button more then once. It does it when I'm driving. I can charge the battery and it will be good for about a day then I have to charge it again. I have had the battery tested and it is good and I have a brand new alternator and have spent a lot of money for my mechanic to do some looking around the car. That is when we found out it is an electrical issue. We just haven't pin pointed to exactly what because I dont have the money to keep looking. I called chevy and they said there's nothing they can do even tho some chevys do have a recall for wiring but mine does not.

2 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 10/15/2018

Vehicle continues to have random electrical problems after adding new grounds, new alternator, new battery, checking contacts. It's been at 4 repair shops including a chevy dealer and continues to have problems. Doors cycle on lock/unlock, lights cycle dimming, abs and other indicator lights come on, lose acceleration and vehicle stalls and dies. Seems to happen more frequently in cold weather and after a rest may or may not start no rhyme or reason. Has baffled mechanics for over 2 years. Pls help.

3 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 08/31/2018

While driving all of the power cuts off including power steering. Alternator, oil, fuel, struts, battery x 2 have been changed out in attempt to correct issue. Issue is still present. Local chevy dealership unable to rectify problem. There have been numerous incidents with potential accidents. There seems to be a power draw on the system, unable to find any kinked or frayed wires. While driving all lighting including gauges dims usually prior to complete vehicle electrical failure. I have a video of electrical dimming, but unable to load on here. Vehicle is labeled as 2015 but manufacture date is 2014, ive noticed there is a recall on 2014 models for electrical chassis failure however my VIN is not encompassed in this recall.

5 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

The vehicle intermittently exhibits a dead battery. This happens regardless of whether the vehicle has been driven for hundreds of miles or none at all. At seemingly random times, we go to start the vehicle and the battery is dead. We have had the battery, alternator and cables tested. All tested good. We also notice that around the same time this problem started occurring, that engine noise could be heard through the vehicle speakers regardless of whether the stereo is on. This also occurs at intermittent intervals. We have taken to the dealership and they cannot reproduce the problem in shop in order to troubleshoot. Parasitic draw test is negative due to the fact that the problem is intermittent and not constant.
