Right brake light continues to go out and the connector is burned and corroded. Also, I am continuously replacing my headlights and brake lights. Once replacing, the light works for about 3-4 weeks. It appears there is a problem with the brake light connector circuit board. Please help!.

Right rear brake light not functioning. Found melted socket on rear light circuit board is causing contact issues with light bulb. Other bulb sockets on this circuit board show no sign of melting.
Third brake light trim fell off vehicle wile traveling on highway at fast rate of speed. Vehicles behind had to swerve to miss flying parts. Have seen this is a common problem. Very dangerous situation.
I turned on my car at dusk and my daytime running lights weren't on, and my lowbeam headlamps would not go on either. Blinkers, brake lights, and every other type of light worked, but I was unable to see on my drive home because of the headlamps that would not turn on.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While operating the vehicle, the low beam headlights and the brake lights randomly stopped illuminating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the light bulbs, circuit boards, and fuses; however, the failures continued. When replacing the brake lights, the bulbs melted into the circuit board. The local dealer was not notified of the failures. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 160,000.

Rear piece above hatch which holds the third brake light, came off and was dangling by the wire. This is a safety hazard and can cause an accident if it falls off. This is held on by double stick tape. Gm needs to do something about this problem, they redesigned the piece and that tells me they know it is dangerous.
While driving down highway started to hear a banging noise turns out it was my plastic that's above my hatch where my 3 red brake light is it hasn't fallen off yet just loose and flopping around I have read this happens to a lot of Trailblazer this should be a safety recall on this and even you guys are aware of the problem the molding which is double sided tape is not a proper use for this the company should have to fix it is it gonna take one flying off and causing a death and major accident before anyone does something?.
The indicated vehicle is my wife's. We bought it brand new on 09/26/2001. She has never towed anything and has city and highway miles. We have had numerous problems: instrument cluster, rear tailgate strap, right rear brake light, (3) solenoids, spare tire dropdown and deteriorated transmission lines. I have repaired all of the previous out of pocket (except for the strap and the spare tire dropdown). Now, my wife was on the way to the bicycle store in her truck, with the bicycle on the back. She was making a turn onto the main road when she heard grinding and squealing, and the speed dropped drastically. Luckily, it was around 10am when there is not much traffic on the road. Reading numerous posts on this website, it is the same problem everyone has had, the transmission sun shell, and no reverse. With 98911 miles, I was about to spend the weekend changing the fluid in the transmission to keep it to spec. Now, I'm looking at a very expensive bill of which I cannot afford. $30 is easier than $1200. And, I'm a manufacturing engineer, so I check fluids regularly, even though the oil change stations check them. Seeing that there are problems with these components, I think that general motors should produce a recall. I'm very disappointed that with all of the complaints, nothing has been done to remedy the situation. We will be calling the dealer that we bought the vehicle from first thing Monday morning.

Additionally, the contact stated that the parking brake failed to activate when engaged. The contact mentioned that she replaced the rear drivers side tail light and brake light on more than two occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The summer of 2013 I had it brought to my attention that my driver side brake light would fail to light up as the brake was applied. I tried changing the bulb but that proved to not be the problem as it still failed to light up. The following summer the same thing happened with the passenger side brake light. I am unsure if it is an electrical problem or a sensor that has gone bad. I can only assume that it is an electrical problem due to the fact that the back windsheild wiper stopped working due to electrical issues.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, he discovered that the brake lights were not functioning correctly. The fiberglass cowling on top of the rear hatch fell off while driving, dangling only by the brake light cable. I had to cut the wire and remove the piece of body and light. Went to dealer asking about repair, they said it was caused by "use of the tailgate during winter conditions of snow and ice. " they said "we see it all the time. " I asked, since it occurs with high frequency, if it is covered by warranty, bulletin or recall and they said "no, gm considers this an owner/operator error. " in other words, on this vehicle, a 4x4, the tailgate cannot nor should not be used, in the midwest, during periods of snow or ice? alas, I am driving without the mandatory center brake light. Please remedy this situation with proper replacement. Sadly, I see this condition on the same make and model more often than not.
Was traveling on interstate and the rear spoiler with brake light just broke off my vehicle.
Rear brake lights keep going and having to change them bi weekly.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact heard a clicking noise while driving and decelerated to 40 mph. The rear brake third light molding then flew off the vehicle and caused the brake light to fail. The interior light wires were also exposed and failed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 183,624.
The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet blazer. The contact stated that the brake lights failed. While traveling around town on 3/14/12, I noticed when it got dark that I did not have any low beam headlights. I was traveling on a interstate which caused me to have to use only my high beam headlights until I got home. On the trip home many drivers became very agitated due to me having to drive with my high beams. . I found online that many Trailblazer owners have had the same problems, but Chevrolet has not issued a recall for those problems. I have not noticed or have been told that my brake lights are out at the same time, I just want gm to own up to this defect and offer assistance in paying for this repair.
While traveling out of town on 9/29/11, I noticied when it got dark that I did not have any low beam headlights. I was traveling over 800 miles on interstate which caused me to have to use only my high beam headlights for the duration of the trip. While on the trip, I stopped at a red light when a gentlemen pulled up next to me to let me know that I did not have any brake lights either. I immediately pulled over and checked the lights and found that none of my brake lights were working. The blinkers and flashers work, but that was all. During the trip many drivers became very agitated due to us having to drive with our high beams, one person became so enraged that they turned around and followed us while trying to run us off of the road. I found online that many Trailblazer owners have had the same problems, but Chevrolet has not issued a recall for those problems. I contacted Chevrolet's headquarters and was told that a recall has not been issued and the cost would be my responsibility.
I am the original owner of a 2003 chevy Trailblazer. When I first purchased the vehicle in the month of October/2002, I didn't experience any problems until maybe the fourth year, going on its 5th; right before the warranty was about to expire. The first problem I encountered with the vehicle was the transmission. It didn't want to change gears properly. Because of the 5 year warranty, the dealership was able to fix that problem, at that time. Today, I continue to experience transmission problems: with a loud noise, a struggle in horse power and a vibration when I am at a complete stop. I have spent so much money on other electrical parts as well. I have purchased over ten light bulbs for rear brake lights that continue to malfunction. I recently replaced a relay because the head lights would constantly go out after the vehicle was turned on. I replaced the fan clutch and water pump because they both went out. I also replaced a battery and two starters. For the past few months, my vehicle smells like fuel everytime I turn it on. I am asking that your department look into all of these claims. It appears that almost everyone that owes a 2003 Trailblazer has been experiencing the same issues, but yet; no one is doing enough to protect all those consumers who have been grateful to this country in purchasing american made vehicles. A sincere thanks.
The 3rd brake light housing over the rear hatch totally broke off which I have noticed on numerous similar vehicles. Now Chevrolet is charging almost $300. 00 for a replacement . Ive noticed too many vehicles of the same model with either completely missing third brake light houseings or a taped up repair.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the drivers side brake light would not illuminate when the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the wires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000 and the current mileage was 109,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I requests that NHTSA open an investigation into the performance/reliability of the fuel level sensor installed in model year 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer vehicles. I allege that the fuel tank level sensor is defective and could result in a subject vehicle running out of fuel, stall, and being rear ended by another vehicle. I also allege that the rear center brake light cover assembly located above the rear hatch on these vehicles routinely fails resulting in the assembly falling off of the truck and would cause damage to another vehicle driving behind the Trailblazer.

I have replaced the rear passenger brake light only 9 months ago and it's once again not working. The passenger side headlight also began to not work at time as is now, not working at all. My mechanic checked out the bulbs and did some testing and discovered the problem is in the circuit board. As of today, the drivers side headlight is now out. . . . So the truck has no headlights and only 1 brake light.
The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the brake light overheated and caused the bulb socket to melt. The contact replaced the bake light socket assembly himself but the failure was not corrected and the brake light failed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised the contact to have the vehicle diagnosed by the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 115,000 and the current mileage was 125,000.
My 2003 Trailblazer ext lost its third brake light, which fell off (for the third time). The entire housing flew off, and it was lost. Also, the passenger brake light will not work, even after replacing the control board and bulb.
The low beam headlights on my 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext continue to go out. The problem started about 3 years ago where initially the drivers side low beam light would turn on and off intermittently. Then, the pig-tail wiring to the bulb burned up (luckily not causing a fire, which my mechanic said could have happened). The pig-tail was replaced and the light worked, but only for about 8-10 months, which the wiring burned up again. The same mechanic replaced the wiring again, and this time it only lasted about 6-8 months, and he replaced it yet again. This final wiring replacement lasted, but the relay went up. We replaced the relay several months ago, but now the light is starting to work intermittently again, worrying me that the pig-tail will burn up again and possibly catch fire. The first time it burned up, I noticed some very noxious fumes while driving which nausiated me terribly. I understand other Trailblazers have this problem. I would love to see a recall on it as there is a similar recall on some of the Trailblazers for the brake lights.
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated the brake lights would continuously fail without warning. The contact replaced the fuse, relay switch, bulbs and the circuit board in an attempt to correct the failure but to no avail. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The VIN was not accepted. The failure and current mileages were 78,000.
Third brake light wing flew off while driving on the expressway.
While going home from work yesterday, someone pulled up and told me that my rear lights were out. Upon my husband inspecting the lights, he discovered that the connection to the rear brake lights is out. There was a recall done in 2004 but gm will not honor it.
Brake lights seem to be overheating. Bulb melts off the contact piece. Interior of housing unit is melting as well. I have replaced the bulbs at least 2-3 times a year. The only thing I haven't done yet is replace the housing unit.
