The dealer stated that the failure would not be covered under warranty. The manufacturer would not provide compensation because the failure was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was 31,000 and current mileage was 33,500.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext 370. While the contact was driving approximately 65 mph, the rear spoiler brake light cover detached onto the road. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the rear spoiler brake light cover was replaced two times. The third recurrence, the brake light assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage and VIN were unavailable.
The third brake light on my 2005 chevy Trailblazer works yet the other two brake lights do not. The bulbs have been replaced and that is not the issue. Also, the headlights flicker to high beam at night for no reason. No one seems to know the issue.
Right side brake and signal lamps continue to burn out. Whole bracket holds water, dealer was suppose to fix problem, but after the recall warranty has expired, brake lamp and turn signal lamps continue to short out.

2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer ex. Both brake lights were not working. The center high brake light was working. I took it to the dealer and was told the repair would be covered under my private extended warranty that I purchased with the vehicle. I stated I thought it might be covered under a recall or special policy extended warranty. The service person said that he would check. 1) there was recall NHTSA actions # ea04021 that does not include this year vehicle. 2) I was told there was a gm special policy that would cover the right taillight circuit board. I was told this failure caused the bulbs in the left brake light to fail. There is not policy to replace the left circuit board. If it fails there it will be covered for 6 years or 75,000 miles. My issue is it there is some sort of defect that is causing both brake lights to fail but there is not a recall for this year model.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact was pulled over by a police officer. He was informed that both the driver's and passenger side brake lights were inoperable. He drove the vehicle to his residence, checked the fuse panel, and noticed that the fuse was still good. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 04v527000 (exterior lighting:brake lights). The manufacturer also stated that they were not obligated to perform the repairs on the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact to bring the vehicle to their establishment for inspection. The current mileage was 71,624 and failure mileage was 71,589.
While driving on the highway, the rear brake light accessory fell off my 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext. While the vehicle was in motion. There was no prior indication that the piece was loose. The piece, fortunately, remained attached to the vehicle while slamming against my rear window. I am concerned that the manufacturer of this vehicle is not properly securing the rear brake light piece and endangering my family as well as other motorists. When I tried to rectify with the dealerships service shop, they claimed that ice can cause this problem, citing that they had seen this happen a couple of times prior, and refused to take responsibility for correcting the problem, claiming that it was due to an act of nature and perhaps I could file a claim with my automobile insurance provider.
Both brake lights constantly fail. Im tired of going back to the dealer, having them tell me they've corrected the problem and a few days later my brake lights are out again. It is truly a pain to travel with infants knowing that the back brake lights are out. We've attempted everything possible and the problem still persists. There appears to be no long term or permanent fix.

While I do not own a chevy Trailblazer, I frequently am driving behind these vehicles and note that the brake light on one side or the other is often burnt out. Seems that there is a problem of some kind or maybe Trailblazer owners are just prone to not checking their lights.
I have replace my tail/brake light several times since I purchase the vehicle. Just this morning I have to go to Chevrolet service department to get my brake light replaced. It cost me 14. 79 to have it replaced. So I decided to research the recalls to see if there is a recall. I remember getting a letter earlier indicating that the light would be replaced free of charge for a certain amount of time. Please let me know if this is correct. Thank you, betty wilson.
: the contact stated the rear brake lights are defective. The lights have failed three times. There is an NHTSA recall, #04v527000 concerning the exterior lighting; brake lights however the recall did not correct the problem. The first time the dealer replaced the whole unit. The unit melted and was replaced again. The lights have gone out a third time and the vehicle is now at the dealership and they would not offer a third repair without charge under the recall.
I have had to replace both drivers side and passenger side brake lights numerous times only to have them burn out within 4-6 months of installing new ones. This cannot be normal.
My complaint is on the Chevrolet Trailblazer. I have personally witnessed at least 8 instances in my area where the brake lights on the Trailblazer don't work. The 3rd light on top of the lift gate works, but the regular brake lights don't work. Every time it has been both of them not working. That leads me to believe it isn't just a bulb being burnt out. I have luckily not witnessed any accidents resulting from this issue, but my father owns a Trailblazer and if there is something wrong electrically causing this problem I don't want the same thing to happen to his resulting in him potentially being rear ended. I saw one on i94 just east of i696 yesterday. I notified the woman and she said that she knew so hopefully it is just the bulbs, but I don't know for sure.
Who do I contact about recalls not being performed on my vehicle?.
Dealer refused to complete repairs for stoplight assembly recall on the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Consumer received numerous safety recall notices regarding air bags, defective stop light assemblies, etc. Serviceman performed the seat belt tests, informed that both of the tail light assemblies required replacement under the recall notice at no charge to consumer. No delivery date was available for parts.
Stop lights keep going out.
Dealer was contacted Jan 2005 to schedule replacement parts for rear lights as part of the recall. I was told that they could not do it without the recall notice number that was sent to me. Called back a day later and gave the dealer the number from the recall notice. He told me that the parts would need to be ordered and they would call me. I received a third recall notice from Chevrolet on 2/26/05 and called the dealer on 3/2/05 and spoke with a man in service. He told me that the parts were not ordered and that I would need to bring the car in for them to order the parts and then again when the parts come in. I have explained to him that I have replaced 6 taillight and brake lights within the last 6 months and why wasn't I informed of this when I called before. Apparently they do not have a call back procedure for when they screw up.
Nhtsa recall campaign 04v527000 concerning brake lamp failure. It's has been over sixty days, and the dealer does not have the parts available.
Nhtsa recall campaign 04v527000 concerning brake lamp failure. No parts were available. . . . . . .
Nhtsa recall campaign 04v527000 concerning brake lamp failure. It has been over sixty days and the dealer does not have the parts available. This information was provided by david mcculoch.
The brake light would go off on its own. The light bulbs needed replacement. Mechanic informed the driver that the problem could not be duplicated.
I have a 2002 chevy Trailblazer on which I has replaced the right brake light 6 times, and left brake light 3 times in 44,000 miles. I have a relative who also owns the same make/model and is about even with that count. Chevy has offered to extend the warranty and replace these lights and sockets for free but this does not fix the problem as I have had 3 light failures since my socket was last replaced as has my relative. It is apparent that chevy is not willing to fix this problem, only patch it up. With tail lights, you only discover it is out if a cop hands you a ticket, or someone else is kind enough to tell you when you stop. Given the frequency with which this occurs, it is very likely that you would end up driving around with no brake lights at all and not realize it.
The left brake light of my 2003 chevy Trailblazer has failed for the second time. The dealer I bought the car from repaired the light the first time. No accident has resulted from this problem.
While driving consumer stepped on the brakes and directional signal became disengaged. Talso, brake light and the tail light became inoperable.
Left brale light failure due to socket not holding bulb tight dealer would not fix because about 600 miles over warranty.
Consumer stated brake lights failed.
I own a 2002 trail blazer ext. I bought it brand new and I have had many many problems with it. I finally have had it and decided to see if the internet reported any similar problems and to my amazement there are many people out there with the same problems, but here is my story. I have had to have the brake lights electrical system on both sides replaced, molding around the license plate frame repaired, oxygen sensor replaced, sway bars replaced, windshield wiper motors replaced, left side passenger window motor broke twice, gas tank replaced because it was leaking gas and now it is back in the shop once again because the engine light came on and I had the onstar system do an engine analysis and they said something is wrong with my power train. I took it to the dealership and they call to tell me the gas tank is leaking gas and needs to be replaced. I told them I just had it done in October 2003. They told me I could not drive my vehicle. I see there was a recall done on some 2002 Trailblazers due to a problem like this, but they say my vehicle is not one of them. Why? I am having the same problems with the gas tank. This is the second one. I am lucky I took it in or something may have happened if it is this dangerous. I would appreciate a response back. Thank you, kathy yates.
Brake & tail lights have blown three times in the past three months.
Brake light failure, left rear (drivers side)brake light bulb burns out on a regular basis. I have noticed this same condition on many other Trailblazers. Many Trailblazers that I see on the road, I notice their same brake light out and the driver is unaware! I need to replace this bulb every few months.
