Car felt "stuck" in gear, wouldn't accelerate, low on transmission fluid. Added more fluid, replaced speed sensor, camshaft & crankshaft sensors. Still having issues with rpms going high, car slamming from one gear into another. Also cannot run heat while driving, fan draws power & causes engine to stall out. Car also burning through gas very quickly.

The gm ls2 engine installed in the Trailblazer ss models has a known oiling issue which causes the engine to be starved for oil and thus, spins a rod bearing. Being that the Trailblazer ss is a limited production vehicle, gm hasn't lifted a finger to recall or repair this design flaw. The problem only exists in the Trailblazer ss (not corvette or gto to my knowledge) due to a problem with the oil pan.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving approximately 10 to 15 mph, the driver traveled over a railroad track and the engine stalled unexpectedly. There were no warning light indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact made several unsuccessful attempts to restart the engine and observed that the "empty fuel" indicator was displayed on the fuel gauge. When the engine restarted, the fuel gauge displayed the accurate reading. The vehicle was able to resume normal operation. The contact has concerns of the significant safety risk. The VIN was rejected from the system. The failure mileage was 71,200. The current mileage was 71,220.

My 2003 Trailblazer LS engine has stalled and completely died while I've been driving it numerous times. The first time was on 9/8/06 and I was slowing down at a stop light, about 35 miles an hour, the engine just died, and I had traffic behind me and was nearly rear ended. I finally got it restarted after turning off the ac and got it off the road, towed to dealer and they could not find anything wrong after 2 days. I got it back from the dealer and it proceeded to die on me on 4 separate days, each time when slowing down and with the a/c on. I've so far been able to get out of the way of oncoming cars and get it restarted, but refuse to drive it on the interstate for fear of being rear ended. I took it to the dealer again on 9/18/2006 and they kept it for 3 days while I paid for a rental and could not find anything wrong with it. All they did was drive it around a few miles and tell me they couldn't get it to fail. On the way home from the dealership, it failed on me again. I've researched on the internet and this seems to be happening with a number of 2003 Trailblazers, I can't believe chevy doesn't know what is wrong.
: the contact stated while driving various speeds, the engine stalled without warning. Afterward, the engine easily restarted. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who was unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was alerted. Updated 09/12/06.

2002 Trailblazer. Engine stalls while at low engine rpm. With it in park can hit the gas and rpms will go down below 500 then recover. Has actually died once. Almost died while pulling into a parking spot. Almost died when coming to a quick stop at light. At first thought it only occured with the ac on but have declared it to do same with the ac off but not as bad. Noticed several complaints of same issue here and on edmunds. Com. Ours hasn't stalled at highway speeds but I fear it won't be long before it does and my wife is the primary driver and is now pregnant with our second child. Vehicle has been to dealer at least three times for this issue. Gm needs to put us (all Trailblazer owners) in a safe vehicle and diagnose problem nationally before someone is killed.
Engine stalled in traffic and idles rough on startup. Dealer reprogrammed idle control module. Engine surges and shakes under a load from power steering or alterantor. Dealer cleaned throttle body (only 4800 miles) and found large leak at evap vapor pipe. Continued to have problem. Dealership contact gm for help. Gm replied that "4. 2 liter motors have an inherent vibration at that speed. " gm technical assistance also stated "engine surge under is normal under load by design. " car is ticking time bomb for another stall in traffic and daily endangers my family.
Tick tick tick at idle. Engine stalls during idle - oil pressure drops to sensor level then engine stalls.
Engine knock and rattle on cold start, worsens when loaded (in gear). After several minutes, knocking diminishes. Coincides with intermittent cold engine stall with no ses light set.
Engine stalls after start regardless of transmission gear selected. Will restart, but is stalling after backing out into a major local raod with heavy traffic, posing a rear end collision risk.
Engine stalled while driving 60 mph. Dealer inspected vehicle and determined engine needed to be replaced due to sleeve of one piston falling off.
