The airbag light on the instrument panel will randomly illuminate and ding as if the airbag has failed. This happens at random and under no specific circumstances while driving on the road. This concerns me for the fact I fear the air bags will not deploy if an accident occurs.

Airbags did not deploy in the crash. Van has been totaled by the insurance. Much front end damage; van flipped end for end braking windshield & both front drivers & passengers windows. Seat belts saved their lives, with injuries to body & heads. Van speed maybe 40 m. P. H. On highway & uphill on a curve. Single vehicle accident, driver blinded by on coming headlights from another vehicle. We never received a recall, but looks like modular/airbag control unit may corrode & fail, recall s07 for some 2008 vans only. Nhtsa reference #16v047000 & number affected 111,519 vans. My VIN# shows no recalls open for it & shows all others have been done. This recall should have been on my van too. Not one airbag went off & we could have been killed. The van is totaled, most damage to front, even bumper is bent right under, what more damage does it take for the airbags to go off. Please check out why mine was not recalled.

I was traveling on the highway in my 2009 town and country when a vehicle crossed the center line at a high rate of speed and struck me head on. The impact from collision left me seriously injured and I was transported by helicopter to the nearest trauma center. Neither my front of side airbags deployed in the collision. I suffered a broken arm from the side impact and a dislocated hip, pelvic fracture, and patella injuries from the front impact. I am unsure about whether or not my vehicle contained defective takata airbags, but to my knowledge, I had not received a recall. I would like answers regarding why the airbags failed to deploy.

The dealer was not contacted and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
Vehicle invoved in accident on fwy, collision did over $6500 in damage. But the airbags never deployed. From looking thru internet I see that probs with the tipm can cause airbags not to deploy when needed. Have had other issues with tipm such as veh not starting on numerous occasions.

My airbag light comes on and off continually when I am driving my vehicle. This issue has occurred since the vehicle was purchased. I believe if this issue continues it may cause the airbag not to deploy or to deploy in error. This is very concerning. Dealership has failed to repair this issues after 3 attempts. The vehicle is on a street or highway when issue occurs.
I got into a car accident hit from side my car sustained over 5,000 of damage my children and I were in the car at the time the airbags did not deploy. I reported this to Chrysler they just advised me to go to dealer to have airbags checked. Never offered to do any further inquiry. Currently, my van starts at times and at others does not my new battery which was costly continues to be drained I called Chrysler they said it would cost 145. Just to diagnose the problem I don't have that kind of money available to check the car I said to the service dept. "you know these vans are experiencing these problems yet you still charge me so much to have a known problem checked?" they said yes do you want to make an apt. ? of course I did not.
