I have 2 problems with this vehicle that Chrysler refuses to respond to with appropriate answers. The 1st one is the front brakes. This has been an issue since the purchase of the vehicle. 4-2010 the rotors always create hot spots then causes the brakes to fail. . There is never any wear on the brake pads just the rotors. There was a letter sent out a couple years ago that they would repair the brakes with either a $50. 00 to $100. 00 deductible. Now , they will not honor that letter. Obviously, there was a problem then for the letter to be sent out, why change it now. I still have the same van and the same problem, only to get worse. The second is the airbags. I was involved in an accident with excessive front end damage as well as totaled the car that was hit by me. The airbags never deployed, fortunately, I was not injured. Chrysler refuses to speak to me about these this issue. That keep telling me that because my auto insurance was involved then they would have to do a subrogation report. This is untrue as per my insurance company. This report only needs to be filled out if the driver or passenger's were injured from the accident. Well since there was no injuries, then there is no need for a report. This incident is a consumers complaint. Chrysler doesn't see it that way. They are trying to find every excuse in the book to not cooperate with my complaints. What is Chrysler waiting for? someone to die if my van is to become into another accident? well, I do not want to wait for that to happen. They need to find the problem and fix it before something bad happens again.

My wife was driving alone, north bound on I 65 south of louisville, kentucky when the back end of the vehicle swayed and she proceeded to slow down and pull off by driving on to the right berm. A tractor which was mowing the grass the side of the road swung up onto the pavement and my wife ran into it. The tractor driver was ejected from the tractor. The front end of the Town & Country received extensive damage and the insurance company stated that the vehicle was totaled. My wife received extensive bruises to her right side, and her forehead struck the steering wheel. Both bones in her left arm were broken, probably due to the fact that the air bag did not deploy. She was taken to the hospital in louisville, kentucky. Two days later surgery was required as plates and screws were installed in her left arm to hold the bones together and a cast applied. Inspection of the front seat after the accident showed that the horn in the steering wheel still worked but the cover of the air bag in the steering wheel was still secured.
The srs (airbag warning light) came on my 2009 Chrysler Town & Country during the last week of February 2013. I took the car into the local dealership for diagnostics. They found that the orc (occupant restraint controller) module was giving a fault code b2208 and needs to be replaced by part # 68148358aa (orc module). My own research found a 2011 Chrysler safety recall l01 occupant restraint controller module (attached) for 2008 models of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge. Page 3 calls for replacing the orc module with same part number as the one on my vehicle (68148358aa) and replace with caa3l016ab. Also a k25 recall for a drain grommet kit is called for. Only difference is the recall is for the 2008 Town & Country. The dealership said that my vehicle VIN 2a8hr44e19r502288 is not listed for the recall. I called the Chrysler group recall assistance center @ 1-800-853-1403 and they basically said the same thing as the dealership told me. Chrysler needs to honor their commitment to customer safety by including my vehicle in this recall. The same part numbers exist on both the 2008 model and the 2009 model. This tells me that Chrysler did not improve the orc module in 2009. They used the same. Therefore the same condition exists in the 2009. The safety recall l01 was issued in October 2011. So Chrysler continued to use the same orc module and drain grommet kit in subsequent models until enough customer complaints justified issuing a recall. I'm very concerned that the air bag system may not deploy or it may deploy inadvertantly until this is repaired.

Traveling in rush hour traffic when the chevy silverado applied his brakes all of a sudden. Tried to change lanes, but couldn't as there was cars present. Hit the silverado in the middle to drivers side front end. Being the main point of contact. Yet the drivers air bag did not deploy. The car was totaled, as the frame was bent and there was extensive damaged to the front of the vehicle.
My wife was stopped on the I-94 freeway in detroit, mi. A vehicle was closing in behind her at a high rate of speed, and crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. Her vehicle then lunged forward and hit the vehicle in front of her. The front and rear of the vehicle experienced significant damage, yet none of the airbags in the vehicle deployed. My wife's head contacted the steering wheel. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation. She currently has a fractured nose, and severely swollen/black&blue eyes. We have 2 children under the age of 5, who thankfully were not in the vehicle. The fireman on the scene had stated that he has been working as a fireman for 18 years, and he has never seen a vehicle with as much frontal damage in which the airbags did not deploy. We have filed a claim with our insurance company, and fully expect the vehicle to be totaled out due to the significant damage. I have since taken many pictures of the damage, and can send them to you if you provide an actual email address.

While driving my 2007 Chrysler town and county van at a normal highway speed, a red light came on that indicated that the airbag system was deactivated. I took it to a Chrysler dealer who charged me $160 to fix the problem. When I had gone 3 miles the light came back on. I then took it to the Dodge dealer where I had purchased the van. They did a better diagnostic test and said they could fix it but they would need to order the failed part, which was an air bladder sensor that cost $1300. They asked me to pay in advance which I did, about a month later they said the part was in. I brought the van in, they told me they made a mistake, the part would be in next month. This next month, next month routine has been going on now for close to two years. During this time the light is intermittently on and off. I have involved, the service manager, the regional parts manager and Chrysler customer care. The Dodge people have been friendly and helpful but unable to solve the problem. After a year Chrysler reimbursed me 95% of my cost for the part which never arrived, they closed the case as solved. The problem was never fixed and the van is still unsafe. I have spoken to many mechanics about this and they have told this is a serious safety issue that Chrysler should fix it for free. Chrysler has reassigned a new customer care person who tells me the part will be available next month and next month and hint at a cost near $3000. I have spoken to other owners of Chrysler cars and they too have had issues with the airbag light. Their problems were less involved than mine but I suspect that some of the systems were just deactivated. I wonder how many Chrysler vehicles are unsafe to drive due to faulty air bag systems. I have alerted my attorney that if I am in an accident and the airbags do not deploy and I am injured or killed to sue Chrysler and tell the media.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) [xxx] I have a Chrysler, town and country touring, 2005 model, I met with an accident on 02/03/10 while driving to washington DC, my touring is totally damaged in the front, damages over $7,000. 00, however the air bags did not deploy, I have been trying to communicate with Chrysler, but they have been stalling me for the past month. I strongly urge that this defective airbags be investigated as it could lead to fatalities.
The airbag light came on this winter during snowy sloppy weather conditions, indicating an air bag safety failure on our 2006 town and country Mini van. It has remained on all winter. We talked to the dealer and they stated they would fix it but we would have to pay for it. Our concern is why Chrysler is waiting so long to issue a recall. This could be a life or death situation since the airbag will not deploy when that light is on.

Our 2006 Chrysler town and country air bag warning lights lit occasionally in fall 2009. By Dec 2009 both driver and passenger air bag warning light are always lit when the van is running. Our internet search found that 270,000 2005 Chrysler minivans were recalled for this same issue (warning lights stayed on, airbag sensors were corroded causing airbags to either fail to deploy or deploy at an improper rate). This seems to be a significant safety issue. Why haven't the 2006 Chrysler minivans been recalled?.
My wife was in an accident on the 28th of October going south on sudley manor dr. In manassas, va at 35 mph when a Ford f-350 made a left turn in front of her. She hit the truck in the rear quarter panel head on smashing the front end of the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. Surprisingly, the drivers air bag did not deploy on an accident at 35 mph. My wife sustained injuries requiring her to receive a month of therapy.
Light came on indicating an issue with the airbags. Light on most times the car is started, however, a few times it did not appear. Was told that it was a short in the electrical system of the srs located in the driver's side seat belt clip. The short would result in the airbags not deploying.
I own a 2006 Chrysler town and country with 54,000 miles. The airbag light is continuously illuminated on the dashboard. Since the airbag light is illuminated, the airbag will not deploy. I had a mechanic look at the codes, and the drivers side frontal sensor is corroded. This is the same problem as the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country which has a recall with NHTSA campaign number: 07v192000. I hope you can amend the 2005 recall to include 2006 models, that way; this can be paid for by the manufacturer. The cost for a mechanic to repair is approximately $160 or parts and labor.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the passenger and driver's side impact sensors were corroded. The sensor flashes on the instrument panel, which indicates that the air bags will not deploy. The contact discovered a recall on the internet, but the vehicle was not included. If the vehicle was involved in a crash, the air bags would not deploy. The occupants in the vehicle could be seriously injured. The current mileage was 53,500 and failure mileage was 52,500.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler town and country. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle was involved in a head on crash. The air bags failed to deploy and the contact was injured. A police report was filed. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 36,000.
Air bag warning light began to light (intermittently) at approx 58,500 miles for no apparent reason. Progressively became more frequent, and would remain lit for long periods of time / miles. The few times the warning light would cease, I was able to trigger the error by wiggling the steering wheel left and right several times. Suspected the 'clock spring' cable in steering column, since the problem sounded very similar to recall 04v480000 (which covers 1998-2000 Town & Country minivans). Became concerned when I found out that air bags would likely not deploy if the warning light was lit during an accident. Requested dealer inspect and advise. I also pointed out the earlier recall on 1998-2000 models. Dealer indicated a $100 diagnostic charge would be billed to me. I spoke to Chrysler customer service on 21-July 2008 who indicated no recall was in effect for 2002 t & c's, and I would have to pay for the repair. Customer service indicated I might get reimbursed if a recall was ever ordered. End result: dealer technician determined the 'clock spring' within the steering column was indeed faulty and so I paid the dealer $244. 41 to replace the 'clock spring'. Air bag lamp now only lights during the test phase / initial start-up and quickly goes out (as it should). Please note: in contrast to earlier reports of 'clock spring' failure / defect, I did not have any concurrent problem with the cruise control or horn within the steering wheel. These worked fine before and after repair.

On June 28, 2008 we purchased a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country van from a local dealer. When I test drove it I noticed a chip in the windshield, front headlight fogged up from moisture inside it and the airbag light stayed on continuously. I pointed this out to the salesperson who stated she would make sure these things were fixed as they interfered with the safety of the vehicle. When I took delivery of the vehicle all things seemed to be alright and then after a few miles the airbag light again illuminated and stayed that way. I took the van back in and told the sales manager about the light. At first he refused to fix it for free. Eventually he stated that they would fix it if we paid $100 towards the repair. I decided to accept this offer. When I returned to pick up the van all seemed well but after a few miles of driving the light again came on and stayed on. Thinking that there was nothing further we could do, we drove it that way. We still own the van and only recently I was told that as long as that light was on the airbags would not deploy. We are now wanting to sell the van but can't due to this safety problem. I also only learned recently that a dealer can not legally sell a vehicle while the airbag light was on like that. Thanking you in advance for any help you can offer, bill deem.
We own a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. Earlier today, the vehicle was in a 65mph full frontal crash with a light pole at the side of a tollway. For reasons unknown, both the front driver and passenger airbags failed to deploy. The van was towed to a collision yard pending insurance claim.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler town and country. The contact started the ignition and the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The light remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. Recently, the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failure was related to an electrical malfunction in the air bag sensor. The technician advised that the sensor be replaced due to the risk of the air bags not deploying during a front end crash. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000 and current mileage was 67,200.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler town and country. While driving 15 mph, another vehicle driving 40 mph crashed head on with the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. Smoke rose from the engine and all five passengers were injured. The front seat passenger suffered bruises to her legs, chest, and waist along with a sprained left ankle. The driver sustained neck and knee injuries. The three passengers seated in the rear sustained bruises to their chests from the seat belts. The vehicle was destroyed. The mechanic stated that the air bag sensors were not tripped and were still in tact. The power train was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 18,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler town and country. The contact's vehicle was rear ended and her head struck the steering wheel. The air bag failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The engine size and vehicle speed were unknown. The current mileage is 51 and failure mileage was 50.
While driving normally, the airbag light comes on. It then turns on then off again while turning at low speeds. This is accompanied by a ticking or popping type sound in the steering wheel. Since this is a family van, I am worried that the air bag will fail or self deploy will driving.

Possible defect 2003 Chrysler t & c limited - air bag failure - offset left front crash at approx. 25 mph - all air bags failed to deploy - force was strong enough to break left front axel and upper control arm. Dealer notified of problem.
1) 2004 Chrysler town and country minivan was the third car in a six car crash. It was stopped at a light behind other vehicles and in front of a red mercedes when a Nissan sedan slammed into the rear of the line of cars without ever applying its brakes. 2) a & b. Front driver and passenger airbags failed to deploy when the t&c slammed into the Cadillac immediately in front of it sending that car into the two cars further up the line. C. The back of the occupied second row captain's chair broke sending its occupant backwards into an occupant of the third row seat. Four of the five septagenarians in the t&c were taken to the hospital with injuries. The driver's head smashed into the roof of the vehicle and his left arm was thrown violently into the door. My father, the driver, says he was knocked unconscious. He could not see out of his left eye for several days. The car was a total loss. I flew from CA to TX and drove his RV to my sister's home in va so she could look after mom and dad. They and their RV buddies cut short their planned trip and all three rvs returned to va this week. Charlie, arlene, and betty are receiving medical attention for their injuries. 3) the car was a total loss. Therefore, it will be replaced with a safer vehicle. However, the NHTSA shows two four star and two five star ratings for this vehicle.

Car accident which severely damaged the front end of my 2005 Chrysler town and country where the air bag did not deploy.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries sustained. The contact also mentioned that the ignition key failed to engage into the vehicle intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The body damage was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system) however, the failure recurred. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000.
