Number one the engine has been rebuilt twice because of engine misfire. Also the gas pedal sometimes gets stuck which is dangerous . And now the air bag sensor has been on and there is no reason for it to be on. I have done research and there are a lot of complaints with this model of vehicle in regards to the air bag sensor. It is the front air bag sensor that is on. I need this repaired . It is a very serious safety issue as I don't even know if the air bag will work correctly.

Filed complaint about defective airbag sensors last year and heard nothing back. . They are still defective. . There is a recall on this issue but my VIN is after the ones that were recalled. . They also have this issue in 2006 town and countries. . They used the same junk parts in all the vans, why weren't all of them recalled for this. . There is a number you have issued for this, ea06003. Has anything been determined to allow all vehicles with this problem to be covered under the recall order. . Thanks. . .

Airbag dash signal intermittently illuminates. It seems to be related to a sensor in the driver seatbelt. Was given an estimate of $375. It chimes when I turn the wheel. I'm not confident that the airbag will safely deploy if in an accident.
Passenger seatbelt buckle pretensioner deployment control - circuit open. Causing a lost communication with right b-pillar impact acceleration sensor, lost communication with the right door track impact acceleration sensor and seat belt light. Vehicle was stationary.
Airbag showed as failed upon starting my minivan. Took the van to my dealer and was told the sensors were bad and I ordered new sensors. Cantacted Chrysler as per NHTSA campaign id number: 10v008000, NHTSA action number: rq09003. And was told my car wasn't on recall, if it was added they would let me know. I am trying to get may car added to the recall list. Internet chat as follows: randolph: hi, my name is randolph. How may I help you? randolph: hello richard. Richard wohlers: I had to have airbag sensors replace on 05 t&c and wish reimbursement richard wohlers: NHTSA campaign id number: 10v008000 NHTSA action number: rq09003 component: air bags:frontal:sensor/control module richard wohlers: 5-18-2016 @ krieger¿s: diagnosed problem and purchased sensors. Randolph: that is very frustrating to hear that you had this air bag recall on your vehicle and I will definitely look into the reimbursement process for you. Randolph: is this the last 8 characters 5r196579 of the VIN? richard wohlers: previous owner had the car in California and it enter rust zone in 09 or so randolph: I do apologize but I do not have a way of adding the recall to your vehicle. This is documented and if there is enough complaints about this on your type of vehicle it is possible that another recall may come out for this. If one does you will be notified by mail at which time you can submit the receipts in for possible reimbursement.
The problem is that the light on the dash keeps coming on and then going off. I have had this replaced 4 times and each time not at a very cheap price. Yet there still seems to be a problem with the front airbag sensor. This comes on right after start up of the vehicle and then goes on and off as you drive.
Checking recalls and found NHTSA campaign number: 10v008000 involving airbag sensors. Virginia and tennesse and other northern states were listed but not north carolina. Why was that?. If this is a cold climate issue, my vehicle spends time in the mountains of nc which has a climate like northern states. Should I be worried about my air bags functioning when needed if the same make, model, and year in many other states required a recall and repair?.

Traveling east bound on I-24 about 20 miles west of chattanooga while in the stat of georgia I rear ended a car that had stoped for a line of cars in front of him. The front of my car was badly damages with the frame showing on the left hand corner. The air bags did not function. My wife hit the seat belt cracking her sternum. The car appeared totaled although their was no damage to the interior. The minivan ended up being repaired. Contacting our local Chrysler dealer their thought was that the sensor was not in the right place to employ the airbags. There is no way to verify my speed at the time of the collision as I was braking at the time.

I was never notified of this recall. I contacted Chrysler about it and they said since I am the second owner of the vehicle, I was not contacted. They only contact the first owners.

2005 Chrysler Town & Country. Consumer states problem with air bag light and swelling on the steering wheel where air bag is located the consumer stated he saw a commercial on tv that a recall had been issued for the 2005-2006 models. When the consumer contacted Chrysler he was informed his vehicle was not included in the recall, even though his vehicle is a 2005.
For at least six months, we have had an issue with the airbag sensor coming on in our vehicle. This concerns us that our air bag may not operate correctly in the event of a collision. We checked the recall list and found that there is a recall for our type of vehicle, but for those manufactured a few months after ours. I feel the same problem probably exists in our car and should be included in the recall. I also fear that it is a safety issue. The recall says it is Chrysler's campaign number j38.

The contact owns 2006 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that air bags frontal sensor/control module (10v008000) was related to her vehicle. The recall affects vehicles in cold climate states and at the time the contact lived in arizona. The contact recently relocated to indiana and would like the recall repaired on her vehicle. The manufacturer informed the contact that the remedy could not be performed because the VIN was not a part of the recall. The contact stated that the air bag could deployed due to the cold weather in the state and fears that it could cause an injury. The contact wanted the manufacturer to perform the remedy repair under the recall before the defect occurred while driving. The failure mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler town and country. The contact started the ignition and the "air bag" warning light indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The failure was a permanent occurrence. The dealer was notified and stated that there were two different recalls associated with the NHTSA campaign id numbers 07v192000 and 10v008000 (air bags: frontal: sensor/control module). Did a little survey on your site (odi) and found the following ref. The # of complaints per year model for air bag related failures (category air bags-airbags frontal - air bag sensor) year 2001. 52 complaints year 2002. - 51 complaints vehicles recalled and repaired by Chrysler . Year 2003 - 14 complaints year 2004 - 2 complaints sounds like the problem is fixed ????? year 2005 - 91 yes 91 complaints for the airbag "system" namely the clockspring. I think that a life and safety device that the consumer has paid for should work and it's time for Chrysler to come forward and repair it.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership to have defective parts replaced and the dealer informed the contact that a recall was open on the vehicle: recall 10v008000 (air bags: frontal: sensor/control module). The dealer stated that the manufacturer only supplied the dealerships with one air bag sensor every fourteen days. The contact was concerned that the part was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
Five different times we have had the sensor for the airbags need to be replaced. We were part of a recall on the outer one, but this is the one that is affected by the driver's seat being moved. We have had this same sensor "fixed" four times. Each time we pay and then it breaks again. It begins sending a signal that it is out when moving the driver's seat but will go back off if you move the seat again. This goes on for a few weeks and then the sensor goes bad permanently. We are now driving yet again without airbags. We have called Chrysler and have been told that we can pay yet again to have it fixed and perhaps they can send someone who knows how to fix it permanently. Or, we can get a deal on a new car. We have already paid to have it fixed more than once and we believe that Chrysler is aware of this problem and are not willing to fix it. Thus we are stuck with an unsafe car to drive our children in.
2006 Chrysler town and country van. Consumer seeks reimbursement for airbag repairs the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated. He took the vehicle to a local repair shop and was informed the air bag sensor was faulty.
I hit a power pole and a ditch at 55mph. The car went airborn, hit the pole, spun around and landed on the passenger side. No airbags deployed. I filed a complaint with Chrysler and they said that I did not decelerate fast enough for the airbags to go off. I was injured slightly but my seat belt was on. The key was jammed in the ignition and twisted and the car was shut down. The impact was that hard. I find it hard to believe that the airbags would not go off. The state trooper, insurance company and the man who owns the garage where the vehicle was towed all said in their professional opinion the airbags should have gone off. I don't know where to turn at this point. It is my understanding from what I saw on the news that the airbag sensors may be being recalled in the near future. However, I don't feel like they addressed this issue at all. I was alone in the vehicle and I was on my home from work after a 12 1/2 hour shift. I did fall asleep and was less than one mile from my home.
Air-bag fault light came on while driving down the road. Dealer says that both front impact sensors need to be replaced due to corrosion, to the tune of $300! it doesn't seem reasonable that after 5 years and 62,000 a required safety device this important should have to be replaced at my expense due to corrosion.
Even though Chrysler has issued a recall for defective front air bag crash sensors my VIN is not listed so they will not issue me a recall notice even though I have had this problem for 3 months.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler town and country. When the vehicle was turned on, the air bag light illuminated and stayed lit. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the contact was informed that the front air bag sensor had failed. The dealer and the manufacturer both informed the contact about recall 10v008000 (air bags: frontal: sensor/control module) but stated that his vehicle was not included although he was experiencing the same failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The current mileage was approximately 100,000.
