Fuel Pump Problems of Dodge Caravan - part 2

Recall 99 v 216 000/ fuel pump. After dealer had repaired vehicle under the recall fuel tank leaked. Since the initial repair , the dealer has attempted to repair the vehicle unsuccessfully. Manufacturer has been notified.

Fuel pump module failed prior to recall notice causing the vehile to stall while driving. Nlm.

The smell of fuel filled the vehicle while being driven. The consumer stated that there were problems with the fuel pump. There were recalls that corresponded with the consumers complaint(recall numbers 99v216000, 00v268000).

When the vehicles gas tank was filled, gas leaked out onto the ground. When the tank was half filled there was no leakage.

Owner states that there was a short in is fuel pump which resulted in his vehicle catching fire.

Consumer contacted dealer in reference to recall number 99v216000/ fuel pump. Dealer corrected the recall problem, consumer noticed fuel was leaking from the tank. Please provide any further details.

Over a period of 4 months, my vehicle stalled on the highway at 55 mph on 3 separate occasions. On each occasion I took the car to a Dodge dealership for repair. After the third visit the fuel pump was found defective and replaced. Dealer attempted to replace fuel pump, but at first they did not have the parts in stock, then caused additional problems with the fuel tank, and entire fuel tank needed to be replaced. Repairs took about a month to complete, owner was informed that the recall repairs should take an hour.

Consumer received recall 99v216000 concerning fuel pump. Contacted dealer, no parts were available to correct the problem. Please give any further details.

Nhtsa recall 99v216000/manufacturer's recall 845/fuel pump. Had the necessary repairs done on 11-Mar-2000, and the remedy failed on 12-Mar-200. Fuel was leaking from the bolt which had either loosened up or was not tight enough. Was told by dealer that the torque setting was not adequate. Manufacturer suggested to increase torque specifications. Had the vehicle towed back to the dealer on 13-Mar-2000.

After recall repair of the fuel pump module seal (99v216) the tank seal began to leak. Nlm.

Fuel leak from the gasoline tank, replace fuel pump level unit, gasket, o ring.

Recall repair (99v216) was completed on vehicle, however vehicle is continuing to leak fuel, dealer told consumer that in order to fix the problem it would not be included in recall and consumer would have to pay for repairs, consumer feels this should still be included in recall.

Vehicle was making a loud noise indicating that it needs gasoline. Consumer filled up vehicle with gasoline, and there is still a problem. She received a recall notice.
