Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Caravan. While driving 50 mph going uphill, the transmission made a clunking noise and hesitated to shift into the correct gear. Also, the vehicle made a high pitched noise when the engine was revved. The vehicle was taken to west hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (900 w hills blvd, bremerton, wa 98312, (360) 377-4418) and they rebooted the computer system, which temporarily corrected the failure. The dealer stated that the vehicle had over 36,000 miles and was out of warranty. The manufacturer also stated that the vehicle was out of warranty and was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 25,000.

The transmission would not go into drive, reverse, and all the way to park. It would finally go into drive after in was in park for a few minutes. Had not contacted Dodge dealer yet, but this started happening last Saturday July 16, 2005. Noticed since then when coming to a stop it made a clinking noise like it was tryingto shift down.

Sometimes while driving at times my van (automatic 4-cylinder 2000 Caravan), it will continuously shift, making the van fell like its pulling and giving/jerky (**scary when this happens**). The van will shake(vibrate). The gas pedal even vibrates. The van sounds loud(front area of car), my son says it sounds like a race car. He gets scared. The wheels seems to be hugging/gripping the ground( another way to describe it, it feels as if gravity was pulling the car downward). The van seems to lose power, and pressing the gas pedal makes the rumbling noise (engine?) louder.

Dt the vehicle has been fixed, but it could be dangerous. The consumer could hear a noise when shifting gears. The consumer brought the vehicle to the dealer and they foundthat the axle nuts were loose. Three months later the consumer had to bring the vehicle bafck to the dealer for the same thing. They said that the nuts had just come loose and were not sure what caused it. This happened on may 12, 2004. The consumer was charged both times to have it fixed.

My 2000 Dodge Caravan has experienced a complete transmission failure at only 57000 miles. The transmission exhibits a "whining" noise which increases with engine rpm, has "bad" shifts and burnt smelling fluid. Dealer only gave the response that they would have to "tear it apart" to even offer an estimate. A local transmission shop, in business locally for 45 yrs. Was able to estimate a full rebuild and unknown repairs to the transmission front pump assembly at $1800-$2200 to repair the condition. Although confronted with the extensive volume of information related to problems with this transmission over the last dozen years, both the dealer and Chrysler customer service refused to assume any sort of responsibility for repair.
While stopping at light vehicle downshifted and made a noise. Engine check light came on. Lost all gears except one. Dealer contacted.

Came home from a long trip, pulled up in the driveway, put gear in reverse and it made a loud bang noise. Kept foot on gas pedal, and transmission wouldn't shift. Tried it in drive and same thing happened. Contacted dealer. Dealer had the transmission replaced for the third time. Manufacturer was willing to pay for parts only.
