Transmission Gear Slipping Problems of Dodge Caravan

Transmission experiencing 2nd gear slippage causing hesitation and degraded acceleration which is a safety issue for entering highway traffic.

While driving 55mph the transmission slipped and when tap the accelerator pedal the vehicle violently surges forward. Ts.

Transmission was leaking, and then some time after that transmission was slipping to the point where vehicle would not move. Contacted dealer ,and then dealer was not willing to do anything.

While driving about 35 m/p/h up small incline transmission slips to low gear and then the car stops moving forward totally. No lights light up on the dashboard. No codes are set for the mechanics to check. This happens sporadically when the engine is warm and without warning. Also of note that when this happens the gears are lit on the dash but none are highlighted so the car appears to be totally out of gear. I have been so very lucky-it has happened 3 times and I was not rear-ended in traffic. This has always happened in the morning and always after I have driven about 10 miles and about one half hour to 1 hour.

While consumer was driving engine check light came on. Transmission started slipping, so consumer took vehicle to dealer.

Transmission slips and shifts into gears at unusual speeds. At initial start up each day, car lurches into gear when shifted into reverse.

Transmission engages with loud and forceful "clunck', when engine is cold. Improves when warmed though. Transmission slips from one gear to next: also until vehicle warms up. Was able to drive vehicle "as is" by backing into parking space before shutting down for evening and did not report until January of 1998. Service was done at that time to "adjust bands" but did not correct problem. Have been trying to work with Chrysler again, since October for repair, but vehicle is no longer under warranty. Condition is now deteriorating substantially and needs repair.

Automatic transmission is slipping gears. Dealer's mechanic recommends replacing the transmission.

While driving gear pin slipped out at 30mhp and shot through the casing of the transmission. Manufaturer was contacted and told the consumer to have the dealer evaluate the situation, but no actions were taken.

While applying the gear the transmission will slip and will not move. Please provide additional information dealer is aware of the problem. Ts.
