Torque converter clutch failed and sent debris throughout trans. // catastrophic engine failure at 74,000 miles 10 mos. Later. Con. Rod through the block at 70 mph. $2,900 cost with a salvage engine.

2 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Charger. When the contact started the vehicle, he heard a loud rattling noise coming from the engine. Prior to the failure, he did not see any warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer inspected the vehicle and stated that the noise was a normal characteristic. Immediately after the inspection, the failure resurfaced. A remedy has not yet been provided to resolve the noise. The failure mileage was 32,000 and current mileage was 34,616. Updated 03-04-09 the dealer replaced all of the valve rockers and pins. Updated 03/05/09.
