36 Equipment problem of the 2023 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/20/2024

Back-up camera: vehicle equipped with an analog camera which at times will not clearly display the view to the rear of the vehicle. Had the camera looked at by the selling dealer who advised that the issue was due to the quality and design of the camera the rear view under certain lighting conditions (in daylight) displayed a washed out display. I have other vehicles with back-up cameras that do not display this condition.

Failure Date: 02/10/2024

My radio screen went bad and it’s killing my battery when the car is off but the screen still works. Also it won’t play music on my speakers due to the screen messing. The screen is also affecting my speakers and everything obviously and I seen there was a recall on the cars radios.

40 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/08/2024

I have had to replace the vapor canister on 2 Dodge Chargers I have owned seems to be a common issue. Check engine light came on both instances one causing issues with inspection the other with emissions test and I had to replace the vapor canister on both in order to fix my issues delayed the process in getting my vehicle registered by the state. Seems there was a previous recall on the issue but has since lapsed the time period to have fixed with reimbursement had the issue checked by an auto services establishment and family member to confirm my issues and then repaired issues each time with a family member. I have also had several issues with the key fob the initial one I received the key itself was never cut for my vehicle so would not unlock my car had to have someone cut the key to access my doors, also the fob itself stopped working I had to pay to get replaced which stopped working several days later and they had issues when programming the key it had flagged issues in their systems giving issues programming since I still have not been able to have an operating key fob.

41 Equipment problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

The abs module has malfunctioned which affects the cruise control, most of the dash controls on the steering wheel and has several lights on the dash that stay lit. The Dodge dealer is aware of this and states that right now there is no fix from Dodge. I'm putting an estimate date below due to ongoing issue.

42 Equipment problem of the 2019 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 11/13/2023

Over 2 years ago I took my vehicle in for an oil change and asked them to drive it and see why it sometimes pulls the steering when going around a curve to the left. They drove it and said it never did pull. Since then, it now pulls to the right when going around curves to the right also. It is doing it more frequently and I am in fear that it will either cause me to go off the road or hit someone when it all of a sudden jerks, like it is catching on something in the tire or something. I wouldn't even let my grandson drive it when he got his learners permit. I have since then decided to look for a safer vehicle and will be trading it since no one can figure out the issue. It jerks hard all of a sudden and you have to make sure you are holding the steering wheel tight. I am reporting to hopefully prevent an accident.

43 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/02/2023

My screen is delaminating and posing a risk for backing up and using the rear view camera. I am unable to use navigation which causes me to make wrong turns and struggle to get where I’m going as I have to hold my phone for navigation. This is very stressful as the screen touches things by itself. It makes calls during my drive so I struggle to end them before going through.

44 Equipment problem of the 2015 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/30/2023

It started with the door panels warping but as we know there is nothing going to be done about that now my dash is warping and lifting almost directly in front of the windshield not sure what components that would affect it completely lifted or separated from dashboard. Could become visibility issue if continue to raise on 2015 Dodge Charger sxt. Just noticed issue this week wasnt there last week. Doors have been for a couple years. This is new issue.

45 Equipment problem of the 2012 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/11/2023

I am experiencing the same issue as identified with NHTSA id number: 11525511, June 5, 2023. Dodge has a known issue with the wiring for the fuse for the a/c located in the front pdc. Technical service bulletin number: 08-040-14 rev. A. On or around June 2020, I took my 2012 Dodge Charger to my local dealership during the covid pandemic for an issue with my ac not working. I had the car inspected by numerous mechanics who indicated there was an issue with the fuse for the a/c clutch (#12), they would replace the fuse numerous times, the ac would come on and blow warm air or cool air, but mostly warm. Replacing the fuse numerous of times did not resolve the issue. Neither did replacing all the cooling system and radiator and fan as well. My auto shop had a mechanic who specializes on the computer for cars take a look at my Charger and found technical service bulletins number: 08-040-14 and number: 08-040-14 rev. A which directly describes the issue I am experiencing with my vehicle. The mechanic has even placed a small nail in the cavity next to the fuse to hold it in its place and my ac is blowing fine and cold air until that fuse is moved or touched. This also caused issues with the fuse for the steering wheel on the car which the Dodge dealership addressed when I lost steering power on my vehicle. They did not repair the issue with number: 08-040-14 on my vehicle. I paid the $199. 00 diagnostic fee just for the shop to put a new fuse in (which I repeatedly told them was not the issue at that time) and I am still having the same problem. I would like Chrysler/Dodge to contact armory Dodge and authorize not only a refund for the $199. 00 diagnostic fee I paid to have the issue identified (which they did not) and also authorize the repair needed as instructed on the TSB number: 08-040-14. The dealership has informed me that they do not even have the repair kit needed part no. 68235388aa (wire harness kit) and would need to do a workaround to repair the issue.

46 Equipment problem of the 2019 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/03/2023

The interior doors on my car are wrapping and the drivers door arm rest is broken on the inside. I see plenty of complaints on this model with the same problems and there should be a recall done. My car only has 44,261 miles and is well maintained. I was told by the dealer that my extended warranty does not cover the inside doors . He broke it down to the door trim its not the trimp it's the door interior .

47 Equipment problem of the 2007 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/05/2023

48 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/15/2023

Back up camera not working. Screen turns blue. Tried resetting and had serviced. Camera will not work. According to the forum many others have the same issue.

49 Equipment problem of the 2012 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/15/2023

My ac was working decent, not how it should be, when I first got the vehicle. Now, the ac just blows warm air, no recirculation for feet setting. I am getting the code p0741 and it doesn't change.

50 Equipment problem of the 2021 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 03/01/2023

I had a flat tire on the left rear. I pulled the car onto a flat paved surface, placed it in park, and applied the parking brake. I broke the lug nuts loose and proceeded to jack the car up. When I had the car partially jacked up the scissor jack kicked out from under the car into the area I had parked in. Since I no longer felt safe using the jack I called aaa. Oddly enough, the aaa service man told me that he had just returned from a call on a Chrysler 300 that had done the same thing. I no longer feel safe using that jack.

51 Equipment problem of the 2019 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/22/2023

Ac still smells meldo thru the vents fixed it last year or so still issues steering makes piping noise when backing up to the right.

52 Equipment problem of the 2015 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 02/01/2023

This problem first appeared on 2/1/23. After driving the vehicle and I park, when I place the car shifter in park and press the push to start button to turn off the car, the car shuts off but the start button stays in acc mode and will not go to off mode option no matter how many times you press it. The vehicle will go from acc then to start only. The warning lights display on the dash saying, service shifter, vehicle not in park and traction light appears then shows service airbag. The vehicle is in park but the push button will not allow it to go into off mode. It will stay on acc. The only two options are acc and start. The vehicle believes the car is not in park but it is. No matter what you do it will not go into off mode. The only way to temporarily put it in off is to disconnect the battery. When you start the car again, it will turn on but when it's time to turn the vehicle off it will repeat the same problem and stay in acc and will not allow it to be pushed into off mode this has not been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer or insurance company yet. In my research of the problem other Dodge charges have the same issue. Safety issue is not being able to turn the car off completely. Unknown of other safety risks.

53 Equipment problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 01/05/2023

There is an issue with the awd system. There is a clunking/shudder that occurs intermittently that sounds metallic. It is progressively getting worse over time. I took it to the Dodge dealership to get looked at but they spent about 30 minutes on it and told me they could not diagnose it. They said that it could be a cv shaft starting to fail but to wait it out and allow it to get worse. Since it is only happening in awd, that does not seem practical. I am concerned that the awd system will fail while I am driving in bad, snowy weather and will get into an accident due to this. I did say this to the dealer but they assured me that would not happen. I drive mostly highway miles and do not have another vehicle to drive. I will also note that I had to get the transmission replaced at 60k miles.

54 Equipment problem of the 2013 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 12/15/2022

Back up camera malfunction. This problem was recalled for 2015 models however my car is 2013. This still is a safety issue. Can not see over trunk without camera.

55 Equipment problem of the 2020 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 12/04/2022

I was in a car accident. A woman hit my car in the drivers door at 40mph straight into the door. My air bags did not deploy. None of them deployed at all. The manufacturer was no help to me at all. I was injured in the car accident.

56 Equipment problem of the 2020 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/26/2022

I was stopped in break down lane and a Ford f150 going about 60mph slammed into the back of me and spun my Charger into a jersey barrier. Not 1 airbag deployed. If it had deployed it could have prevented my fiancé from splitting his head open on impact.

57 Equipment problem of the 2014 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 10/25/2022

Took car in to south point Dodge for a recall. The canister vapor was replaced,as I was smelling gas fumes inside the car. It was replaced as I was told. But I'm still smelling gas fumes. I called Dodge and explained that this was the problem, as I received the code: po456: evap system small leak. Which is associated to the recall. Evap canister that was replaced. So I was told if I bring it back in, and the evap canister is not the problem that I will be charged 250 dollars to have it looked at. If I'm getting a code that that there's a evap system small leak and I'm still smelling fumes, it's got to be that the replacement of the canister vapor wasn't properly replaced. So I'm wanting to have the recall looked at again without me being charged 250 dollars for a diagnosis test ??.

58 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 08/18/2022

I have a Dodge 2018 Charger, recently I am seeing the uconnect touchsceen began delaminating and the buttons are being ghost pushed randomly, sometime the clock setting pops up and suddenly the volume goes to 100% and sometimes it randomly does sos dial or dial's someone else, this is a safety hazard on driver's attention as when you are driving down a freeway it freaks you out if the volume suddenly rises to 100% for the music or it randomly dials something when you are on a emergency call maybe and wont let you talk while on 911 call, clearly this issue is seen on all models after 2017 (details can be found on the internet). A lot of accident's can happen because of this as the driver is taken in awe by suden changes in the cabin.

59 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/21/2022

Hello, I am not sure if this is the correct place to report the issues that are plaguing 2014 and up Dodge Charger and challenger owners. The door panels and center counsel on our cars are coming apart it is a manufacturing defect that exposes the electronic systems on our doors including the locking mechanisms and window regulators to moisture and heat. This is the second time this has occurred the first time my car was under warranty now it is not and Dodge does not want to repair the panels they said because there is not a recall on it they do not have to even though it is a widespread issue. Thank you for your time. Thank you,.

60 Equipment problem of the 2016 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/20/2022

I have multiple Dodge Chargers ranging from 2011 to 2016 and for some reason the fans broke on all of them placing a hole in all the radiators. The fan broke on one car more than once. As a result, the cars begin to overheat. Countless of money has been spent buying these parts. I believe there is a defect in the fans on these vehicles. I have been left on the side of the road with my children a few times because of my car overheating. My 2016 may need a new engine due to fan breaking. Please look into conducting a recall on the Dodge Chargers cooling fan from the year 2011 to 2017.

61 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/12/2022

The screen in my 2018 Charger is melting. At first it just started to delaminate, a very common issue I wasn’t worried about. But now the screen becomes very hot to the touch, to the point where you wouldn’t want to keep your hand on it very long. Just recently and why I’m making this report is because there are now what appear to be visible drips inside the screen that look as though something is now actually melting. I believe this is a safety concern because this seems like a fire hazard if this continues to heat up and melt.

62 Equipment problem of the 2017 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 07/07/2022

Both the front door interior panels are warped. I had to glue them because they pulled almost completely off the door.

63 Equipment problem of the 2013 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 06/29/2022

Intermittent disabling of the steering system resulting in multiple lights (abs, etc. ) and steering locking up with the car in gear with no prior indication of an issue and no warning light or message prior to failure then today this happened along with delayed start and the power steering system fail message presented so g with the car steering locking up and the car becoming immovable while in gear. This followed by the car not starting at all and remaining immovable requiring a rollback tow.

64 Equipment problem of the 2017 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 06/15/2022

The safety issue is due to the delamination between the liquid crystal display (lcd) and touch screen digitizer of the uconnect 8. 4 instrument panel module. This unit controls the infotainment system, navigation, and numerous vehicle settings. The failure mode of continuous false selections (ghost touches) is far beyond merely annoying. It is very distracting to drive a vehicle which is randomly switching to random modes. It is dangerous because the driver knows the car is changing functions without command inputs and is almost compulsively distracted to turn attention to the display to understand what happened and whether corrective action is needed. Fca offers no recourse other than component replacement by the dealer at owner cost if out of warranty. I was quoted a price of $1930 due to expiration of warranty. This is a known materials defect that should be corrected by the manufacturer regardless of warranty. As a material and manufacturing defect, the problem was present from vehicle assembly with high probability of manifestation at some future time.

65 Equipment problem of the 2012 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/26/2022

A licensed mechanic did a diagnostic test and the code p1db7 came up. The reason for calling the mechanic was after driving my car the next day it didn't want to start, there was recalls already repaired apparently yet the code states that it's a faulty torque converter clutch (tcc) faulty transmission control module (tcm). There's still an electrical problem tpms is still not reading the computer system correctly is just not right therefore it's not reading anything correctly. The original control arms w/ball jt including the steering column is all bad and will cause a wreck or someone killed caused of the instability.

66 Equipment problem of the 2015 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/22/2022

The gear shift, camshaft. Have to keep taking it back for repairs after having repairs done on car.

67 Equipment problem of the 2017 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/14/2022

2017 Charger uconnect system going crazy due to delamination problem causing driver to take attention from the road. Dodge knows of this issue but has not issued a recall.

68 Equipment problem of the 2018 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 05/01/2022

The screen cover separates from the touch screen on the radio. This makes the radio not function but more importantly other vehicle operational features are inaccessible. Apparently the screen feels random touches so even when I power it down it turns itself back on constantly beeping changinging stations, adjusting the heating/cooling controls, the clock etc. This is very distracting to a driver and I did nothing unusual to this device. I contacted the dealership and just the screen alone is over $1000. Before I pay this I wonder if anyone else has had similar issues or if its been previously addressed.

69 Equipment problem of the 2019 Dodge Charger

Failure Date: 04/23/2022

The vehicles first issue I had was about a month of owning the vehicle , with the uconnect infotainment system not wanting to turn off or on and being frozen with only showing a still image of the back camera. I fixed it after I disconnected the battery for about 2 minutes. Then I had a transmission problem which needed servicing not even a year into owning the vehicle. I had to go to the service center to have part replaced, took about a month to get replaced due to back order. Then in June of 2021 the car wouldn't go in reverse or drive. As if the emergency brake was on and wouldn't budge. Had to tow the car to the dealership and leave overnight. When the car was dropped off at the dealership it had to be shaken off the tow bed. Was called to come pick the care up the next day because "no issues were found and car is functioning properly". Now in April of 2022 the steering wheel makes a grinding sound as if it's chewing rocks inside. When it was taken to the dealership was advised the steering column would need to be replaced and the part would be available in the first week of may. When I called to follow up, they advised it would be in may 12th. I called to confirm if that was true and was told the part would now come may 26th. Called again and part won't be available until June 9th. When making turns in vehicle steering wheel sticks and power steering is disabled. Feels like I'm going to crash or flip the vehicle.
