2013 Dodge Dart with 2 liter motor auto transmission. The car won't start. On the shifter all letters on gear indicator shows red (p,r,n,d) engine light on. Car will. It start in any gear. This is the third shifter assembly I had to purchase to fix the problem . Vehical was stationary when it wouldn't start , when it was running the gear indicator light went red car shifted hard. Also wouldn't indicat what gear it was in on the dash. Now car won't start at all.
Check engine light will flash while simultaneously the gear selections lights all glow red. Stability indicator signals loss as well as extremely rough shifting. Loss of reverse camera, moon roof, loss of auto windows both up and down, as well as practically all forward motion as if the transmission has suddenly stopped working. Once stopped safely and vehicle has been disabled I. T will not start without a series of steps prior to ignition. 1. Press accessory button. 2. Place in nuetral. 3. Return to park. 4. Open and close driver door. 5. Apply foot to the brake pedal. 6. Press ignition switch to start the vehicle. These steps allow the vehicle to become operational; however the check engine light will remain on for various lengths of time. The transmission now shifts less rough than during the initial malfunction. I have experienced this malfunction both while starting my car and during operation on the open road. At which point the vehicle becomes clearly unsafe to operate, due to loss of motion. I personally do not feel safe operating this vehicle alone and especially with my family aboard. I have researched this issue hours on end and found masses falling to the same vehicle malfunction. As of yet my specific VIN# has yet to be recalled regardless of the nature of the malfunctions. I charge you NHTSA to press upon Chrysler for safety of not only my family but all the others out in the world at risk due to faulty engineering and equipment.

The car won't start. Battery is completly dead. Won't even charge. (that's not the big deal) the big deal is when I try to reverse it's like it doesn't want to get in gear. Then whole car shakes, and then it feels like the transmission stops and is about to drop. Gear shift lights all turn red. Have to start car and turn back on to get it to go to normal. Engine light comes on too. Then eventually turns off.
My car is messing up the gears the lights turn red the car would not start left me stranded also when I put my car in drive the cart shifts hard back and forth I took it to aamco they said it the motor mount the rear one I do buy the part had it replaced and now the car is leaving me stranded it was parked.
On 12/16/2014 the vehicle flashed a "service transmission" indicator upon turning the car off the car would not start and the gear indicators all turned red showing no available gears. After a short time with the vehicle off the vehicle started again but the "check engine" light was on. It was taken to a local service center where they stated that it needed some reprogramming. On 01/22/2015 the same issue occurred and the vehicle was taken back in for service. Upon looking at the car I was informed no indicators were showing and their were no diagnostic codes (somehow the car mysteriously lost them). 01/25/2015 the issue occurred again and is presently awaiting service.
