The vehicle has had an open recall for over a year about the fuel pump relay. My vehicle has stopped running a few times while being driven on the freeway. At first, it was able to restart after a few minutes. Then, the vehicle did not start at all. Dodge says they still do not have the proper recall repair part made yet and would still replace it with the current part that has been recalled. I did need to have that done to be able to drive. After 2 months of driving an 80 mile daily round trip to work and home, it has stopped running again. I have called Dodge and tried to get the vehicle towed and fixed properly but they act like it is not their complete concern. They are currently not providing towing or a rental. This is very unacceptable for a manufacturer to post a recall and then not get it properly fixed in over a year time frame.

While driving my Dodge Durango on city streets as well as multi lane highway the vehicle will unexpectedly experience a stall condition. I have experienced this failure approximately six times. Placing the vehicle in neutral while in motion to attempt a restart was unsuccessful as I found that the vehicle must be in park for a restart. This is especially concerning on the multilane highway at 50 mph speeds, as the potential for collision without power is of great risk to me. Having to place a vehicle in park if unable to coast to shoulder or curb lane puts everyone in the area at risk of collision and exposing myself and family to a rear end collision at increased highway speeds. On city streets I have experienced a loss of power at approximately 20 mph while mid turn through an intersection resulting in me blocking the intersection while attempting a restart. This has occurred in both left and right hand turns. Of note my family members with less driving experience could be at risk of collision/injury should the engine die suddenly. I have also experienced approximately twenty occurrences where my vehicle fails to start. I have noted that this usually occurs after a short drive with an attempt to restart after approximately 30 mins which results in the no start condition. An example would be a trip to a grocery store. Frustrating beyond belief. Chrysler service center unable to help as no parts or remedy available for the ordered recall. Contacted fiat/Chrysler rep but he was of no assistance. The rep insisted that the vehicle was safe to drive but I strongly disagree. His remedy is to tow the vehicle at my cost to the dealer upon experiencing stall but I feel that driving the vehicle to failure is grossly negligent. This Dodge Durango is not only unreliable having experienced so many no start conditions but the stall at speed is certainly unsafe.

Durango has stalled at high speeds. While slowing down at lower speeds, the vehicle will, on occasion, start to stall as it sort of rumbles and shakes. Now the Durango will not start. All symptoms seem to align with known recall issues, however, recall repair is not yet available. Has been symptomatic since April 2019 until present. I have taken this problem to the Dodge dealership for diagnosis and repair. They are unable to replicate the issue but were able to run up a bill of $3000 for items that did not fix the issue. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and worry about having a total power failure while at high speed.

I purchased my 2012 Dodge Durango, used, with approximately 75k miles. Since purchasing the vehicle, I've experienced numerous problems that began with the transmission. Additionally, the car goes into "low gear" even when you don't turn the knob. Over the past year, the car has been in the shop more times than I can count for the doors locking and unlocking on their own. I haven't been able to lock the doors when in public. My key fob hasn't worked even after replacing the battery inside. The car has set the alarm off even when unprompted. It will lock/unlock while driving. The car has stalled, while driving, at least 3 times since November 2019. For each occurrence, the vehicle was slowing/excelling with a traffic light or to turn into a parking lot. On one occasion, the car would not crank over and a red light was blinking on the dash. The lock issue began happening again and I could not get it started. It had been stationary. When I came back to the vehicle later, it worked fine with no red light. The mechanics noticed the temperamental problems but could not get the vehicle to consistently repeat the problem. I've also replaced the water pump and had issues with the air conditioning. At this moment, it doesn't want to work for the driver's spot only.
My car will not start due to the fuel pump relay recall.
The vehicle will not start once driven and turned off. When start is pressed after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle just turns over and don't start. I have taken the vehicle to auto nation Dodge several times and the service dept claims they replaced the tpim but the vehicle stills wont start at times and does it more often when restarted.

Went to head home from vacation and stopped at a store with the engine running. Vehicle engine sputtered then cut off. Tried to start vehicle and vehicle would not start. Sounded like it was turning over. Had to have car towed 2 1/2 hours to our dealership. Once in dealership found tipm to be defective which caused the fuel pump to break. 16 days later the water pump failed. At 28,000 miles 3 major engine parts have been replaced. Not to mention all the other flaws in this vehicle. Passenger side window also works intermittently. Vehicle is still in service department for the second time in less than a month.

I had stopped at a stop sign and attempted to turn left. As soon as I took my foot off brake & onto gas, car completely stopped and shut off, leaving the car in the middle of the intersection. It was raining & similar has happened twice before during rain. Both previous times though, all electrical systems would work but I would have to wait about 15 minutes until car would restart. This time however, nothing was working, not even hazard flashers. Every time I tried restarting, dashboard lights would blink randomly. I took the battery to be tested, which tested fine. It has now been 3 days and car will not restart, same lighting issues when ever I have the key in the ignition, and nothing electrical is working including the key to unlock the doors remotely.

While driving my 2017 Dodge Durango citadel (6980 miles) home from work, I had the adaptive cruise control set. I was in a steady line of traffic and cars lined up behind me. The truck started to steadily decrease in speed, there were no objects in the path of the vehicle and the car in front was at least 6 car lengths ahead. When I tried to accelerate the vehicle nothing happened when I tried to accelerate, I then attempted to brake, my brakes were not active as well. I placed my hazard lights on and attempted to turn the steering wheel slightly to move my vehicle from the road. However, at this time my steering had tightened and I could not move my vehicle. I ended up coasting to the right side of the road until my vehicle came to a stop. Nothing was working on my truck. I could not open my door or let my windows down. It was like I was trapped inside. Finally, I was able to get my windows down after 3 or more minutes. When the towing service picked my vehicle up, the back windows would not roll up and my lift gate opened by itself. We got the lift gate back down manually. However, the vehicle would not start. If you placed your foot on the brake, pushed the start button it just made a clicking noise. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and will be looked at tomorrow, 9/26/17. This could have been a horrible, fatal accident. Some type of investigation needs to take place into this matter. My son and I travel many miles a week and this would have definitely been fatal if we were on the interstate on an inside lane.
This may be a scenario for the ongoing investigation of rollaway (NHTSA action number: pe16014) the vehicle in this scenario was stationary. I follow the normal procedure for parking my Durango by (1)applying parking brake, (2)moving the shifter to park, (3) turn ignition off, and then (4)exiting the vehicle. Today, I brought my vehicle to stop for parking, which triggered the stop-start system, turning the engine off. At this time, before shifting the transmission to park, I opened the door of the vehicle. This action of opening door made the stop-start system unavailable. After this when I lifted my foot from the brake pedal, and moved transmission to park (with park light lit), my thinking was that the vehicle would start its engine as it would be coming out of stop-start system. But, this did not happen as the driver door was open and the stop-start system was disabled. At this time, when I lifted my foot of the brake, the car advanced forward with no power. Even then the engine did not start. Then I turned the car off and turned it back on and all worked fine. While checking this scenario again, I turned the car off while the stop-start was deactivated. The vehicle did a powerless rolling. I started the vehicle again and all worked fine. It seems that the opening of the driver door before the vehicle exits the stop-start system initiated engine-off, causes the vehicle to enter a state where things are not predictable. My expectation was that the taking foot off the brake pedal or changing gear shifter, would make the engine come back to life. But that did not happen. I hope that there could be solution for this issue. I always apply parking brake since the time I have learned how to drive, and that surely must be helping me here.

Seat belt is locked but light comes on as if it was not on. I have to undo, and reapply for light to go off. Radio will not work at times. Radio repair guy said I needed a new amplifier. One day it just starts playing, but when I stopped to get gas, the car would not start. After battery was replaced, the cargo lamp stays on if I open my rear hatch. The vehicle would not start. I am now concerned that the vehicle electrical system is going to fail in route. If this happens then there is going to be an accident as the brake system and power steering will fail causing the vehicle to crash. Are they waiting for that to happen before they spend the money to fix it? my family's lives are at stake here as well as anyone we pass on the road. It says in the recall notice that they are concerned with our safety but I beg to differ. I received this recall notice about 3 months ago with no follow up at this time! when I called Chrysler about the fix they said that the parts were not available unless the vehicle had actually stopped working and had to be towed to their facility. Really?.
