2 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2004 Dodge Intrepid

Failure Date: 09/11/2007

2004 Dodge Intrepid 2. 7l engine - failure due to oil sludge. My car starting overheating a couple months ago. I had to have some friends pick me up when it wouldn't start 3 times. Then 2 weeks ago my car finally quit in the middle of the road. I had to sit blocking traffic with a police officer while waiting on the tow truck. My car is now sitting in my garage useless because every mechanic I talk to says they don't want to touch it because of the known manufacturer's problem w/ that engine. I still owe $10k on a car that doesn't work! now what???.

3 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2001 Dodge Intrepid

Failure Date: 07/23/2006

I was driving on the tollway when my car began to overheat. I turned on the heater to maximum and drove at about 55 mph. About one mile from home another car pulled along side to tell me that there were flames coming from underneath my car. I immediately pulled over but could not stop immediately as I lost all power and had no brakes. Since the exit was on an incline I was able to coast to a stop and my wife and I exited the car. Within less than 10 seconds after we exited the car was engulfed in flames and was totaled.

4 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2000 Dodge Intrepid

Failure Date: 06/09/2005

I purchased a 2000 Dodge Intrepid from gary smith Ford of fort walton beach in early June 2005. Every since the day I purchased it, the vehicle has been overheating and breaking down intermittently. In the first month of ownership the vehicle was in the playground automotive repair shop (fort walton beach, FL) a total of 16 days. The repair shop kept stating they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. The 2000 Dodge Intrepid has continued to overheat and breakdown sometimes in heavy traffic and numerous accidents have been narrowly averted. Gary smith Ford has been no assistance in correcting this problem and they have told me it's my problem not theirs. What are my options at this point?.
