Dodge RAM owners have reported 3 problems related to emission control (under the engine and engine cooling category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I own a 2005 Dodge Ram slt 1500 4x4. This truck currently has around 15000 miles on it. I have personally put 3500 miles on this truck. In the 2 months that I have driven this truck the engine died 4 times as I was driving. Each time the engine died I was turning uphill and to the left with my foot off the accelerator. I have taken this truck to the dealership twice. The second time I took it to the dealership , 3 weeks ago, to see if they could fix the problem. I convinced them to replace the idle air control motor. The same problem occurred again today. The engine died as I was pulling into a friend's driveway. The problem has the potential to cause a serious accident. The first time this happened I was pulling out onto a busy road. This problem has never shown up on the diagnostic computer at the dealership, and I urge you to research this problem to prevent future accidents. I have heard from other owners of the 05 Ram series that have the same problem.
