I put my truck into park and started to get out with the engine running and the truck rolled backwards, catching me with one leg on the ground and one leg still in the vehicle. The driver's side door hit me in the chest, knocking me to the ground. The above events took place extremely quickly, and I had no time to react. Luckily, someone was nearby and stopped the truck before it hit me or anything else. Unfortunately, my leg was still in the vehicle, even while I was on the ground. I was dragged about 5 feet and received some lacerations on my shoulder.

2 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 02/28/2005

Vehicle experienced a problem with the transmission. When the vehicle is in park and the driver wants to put the vehicle in drive the driver does not have to press down on the brakes before the vehicle will go into drive. Owner took the vehicle back to the dealer, and was informed that this was a normal function.

3 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500

The consumer shifted the vehicle in park and was getting ready to turn the ignition off when the vehicle started moving backwards. The vehicle went over the curb before the consumer was able to apply the brake. The vehicle's indicator light indicated that he vehicle was in park , however it was in reverse. When the consumer attempted to shift the vehicle again the shifter had no tension.

Transmission sticks when placing the gear in drive. It will only go to the speed of 7 miles . This is the third time the vehicle has been serviced, and the transmission keeps slipping.

5 Automatic Transmission Gear Indicator problem of the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500

Failure Date: 08/19/2003

When vehicle is put into a particular gear it will not respond. When the gear shift is put in park it is really in neutral. When in drive it is really in reverse. When changing gears, reading in the dash board is not synchronized with the shift from park to drive. Truck was repaired 4 time but with no avail. Consumer feared that it was the electronic gear indicator. This is because when vehicle was in park, consumer's wife witnessed that the back-up light went on.
