When I was driving Monday, 11/26/2012 part of the dash fell out and now there is a big hole in my dashboard! I have been looking for a replacement but found nothing I can afford.

Dashboard developed large crack that can interfere with operation of the air bag or cause plastic shards to hit the passenger. Per review of several websites, as well as complaints per the NHTSA website, this is a very common problem amongst these trucks and the car manufacturer will not take action. A recall should be issued to replace the defective dashes.
My Dodge ram1500 has a dashboard problem that seems to run in that year truck. The dashboard started cracking and has continued to do so. I think that there should be a recall to repair this problem before something drastic happens. The repair shop says there is no recall for that problem and the repair cost will be appprox. $1000. 00.
The dash has started to crack, and the latest one is right above the passenger air bag. My concern is what would happen in the event of a air bag deployment if a big shard of plastic from the dash were to fall in front of the air bag during deployment. What would happen to the front passenger, or my young kids sitting in the back seat? I have also found reports of owners reporting wiring problems due to parts of the dash falling down.
Dashboard is cracking badly---possible sharp shreds if accident occurs--possible problem with defrost if pieces of dash clog defrost vents--vehicle was garage kept for most of it 9 yrs---vehicle in like new condition other than dash falling apart---thank you.
Dash is cracked all way causing a safety problem with sharp pieces.
Cracked dash I opened the door to my truck one morning and looked up at my dashboard and there was a crack all the way across it. I have researched this and it appears that this is a factory defect and almost all Dodge ram trucks have this problem. I feel that this should be taken care of by the manufacturer.
Dashboard cracked in multiple places. Defrost vents disintegrated and fell into ducts. Defrost blend door not functioning and causing windshield to fog up when using a/c. Rear fenders rotted out from the inside out on both sides in the exact same place. Random engine loss of power, re-starting fixes problem until next occurrence.

I love my truck and paid hard earned money for it. I keep it in good shape. Earlier this summer, I noticed my dash has started cracking. I keep protectant on it and sun shields in the front windshield. It's dis-heartening to have something I took care of and spent good money on fail in this manner.
I could not get past the enter 'failed component' requirement so I had to chose air bags because it is the closest component related to the dash area I could find. I am one of the thousands of people who owns a Dodge truck with a severely cracking dash. I realize that this may not seem to be a 'safety' issue, but believe me, when you have a dash that is cracked into pieces with numerous sharp edges it should be. I would never let any child be in my truck unsupervised because this dash is so bad I truly believe an injury could result from contact with the sharp edges. I realize Dodge would be out an incredible amount of money to recall this problem, and I've also been told they are still selling the same bad plastic dashes as replacements, but something should be done. At least they could offer a new dash made from different material at a much more affordable cost. Please find a way to help those of us who are trying to cope with this problem. . . Thank you for your time.

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 quadcab. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact approached a turn however, the turn signal failed to respond when engaged. The windshield wipers, horn and rear brake lights became inoperable. In addition, both turn signals would not function upon activation. A certified mechanic inspected the vehicle and was unable to determine the cause of failure. In addition, large fragments of material separated throughout the dashboard surface. There were also numerous cracks within the dashboard. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the permanent malfunctions. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.
Completely cracked dashboard, sharp edges, effecting electrical components, headlights.
Very large and sharp jagged edges coming up from a very badly cracked dashboard. There needs to be a recall on 02-09 Dodge ram trucks. Very dangerous to driver and passengers. Especially if that vehicle is involved in an accident.
I own a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 laramie slt, purchased used in 2004 from the original owner. The dashboard began to crack within the first year I owned the truck. I recently had to have the heater core replaced, which requires removing the dashboard. The dashboard is now full of holes and larger cracks. I believe it poses a danger to me and any passenger in the event of an accident, or the deployment of the passenger airbag would likely cause the dash to do harm to anyone hit by any piece of it. I am told that Dodge is aware of the problem and will do nothing about correcting it.
A part of the dash of my 1999 Dodge ram , dislodged from its position atop of my dash. The dash of the vehicle is cracked and caving in like all Dodge dashes this year and model. I was accelerating from a stop on a hill, when a piece dislodged from it position on my dash, and cut me in the left side of my face below my left eye, this could have blinded me, and I know the NHTSA, would never allow a vehicle with large sharp abs plastic pieces flying around the cabin. The abs plastic dash is in horrible condition, it is cracked and fallen in and pieces fly out all the time. I am prepared to sue Chrysler corp. If this is not addressed by the NHTSA, thank you.

The dash is cracking and caving in. Radio isn't working now due to cut or burnt wires. The passenger side airbag could deploy at any sec with all the cracks and pieces fallen.
This is my second Dodge ram that my dash has cracked and came apart. The last one was a 2002 Dodge ram. With the sharp edges this causes and the wiring dangers this is defenatly a hazard and Dodge should recall all these trucks and replace at no charge. I have seen countless web sites with so many people complaining about the same thing its rediculas Dodge can get by with this. . . So much for american workmanship. . .

Dashbord crack.
Severely cracked dash board. Parts falling down into the electrical wiring including airbag area. Continues to crack in different areas. Major portions of the dash is caving in. Could cause gauge, lighting, airbag and heating/cooling problems.
Have had a cracked dashboard for quite some time now, I have filed a complaint before and could not get a resolution from Chrysler/Dodge. My dashboard has cracked to pieces causing a safety hazard. Finally my electrical systems have started to malfunction due to the pieces of my fallen dashboard falling on electrical components, there was a small short/fire that caused my cruise control to stop working and my dash lights also. I feel it has been long enough and something needs to be done before, someone not as lucky as me, gets really hurt from this safety hazard issue that has haunted us Dodge ram owners for a long time. We need to get our dashboard replaced ASAP.
Dash board is cracked above passenger side air bag.
Dashboard cracked and hvac air flow recirculator vent broken as with many other Ram 1500s from various model years. Customer care only offers to remove the labor costs for replacement of damaged areas. Owner is made to pay for materials at full retail cost. Will never buy another Chrysler product again!.
