The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 quad. While driving above 50 mph, the contact noticed that when he would roll the rear windows down, the vehicle would shake excessively almost causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The dealer was aware of the issue, informed the contact that there were no related recalls and offered no additional assistance. Dash board caved in. Now frame that holds the insturment panel, fan controls, and light controls is broke and brittle. The dash board has tendicy to tilt toward me when accellerating.

The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving under normal road conditions, the dashboard exhibited an abnormal popping and then completely cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised that the failure was a constant issue with the year, make and model but the manufacturer had not issued a recall. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that although the failure was a known issue they were not willing to assist with any repairs. The contact had to tape the dashboard to the vehicle in order to stabilize and prevent the windshield glass from fracturing. The contact believed the failure to be a huge safety hazard and the vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was 117,000 and the current mileage was 118,000.

Dodge Ram 1500 truck, 2001, dash is falling apart as I drive. Pieces fall to include the glove box and the shelf which is a large part of the vehicle's dash. The instrument panel is hanging on and I can't secure it back. Distracting to say the least.

My son and I purchased a1998 Dodge Ram 1500 club cab pick up truck and the dash started coming apart (cracking/collapsing in chunks) and in one instance after driving down the bumpy dirt roads here in SC (which is like driving down a set of railroad tracks at times even at low speeds). Part of the dash flew up a caught me in the eye and face. I wear glass', so I didn't suffer serious injury, but could have easy enough. I have since used a cover, but so much of the dash has now fallen apart that's not a solution anymore. I'm not sure who designed this dash, but I also drive a 05 Dodge durango and a 06 Dodge police charger and this has not yet happened in them. The dash seems to have gotten worse and worse to the point I'm not sure what's holding it to the rest of the truck. This is dangerous and we need a new dash or to have some type of hard cover. Doesn't seem fair we would have to spend the extra money.

The front cover and top of the dashboard on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 has been slowly falling apart over the last two years. I have removed the front instrument cover due to dangerous sharp edges. The top of the dash has split into four sections with numerous cracks radiating from the bolts near the windshield. Had a 6"x10" section of the top dash pop out and land in my lap when I hit a pothole.

The dashboard of my Dodge ram is disintegrating into sharp pointed shards of plastic. The plastic material which makes up the dash has changed in it characteristics so as to become quite brittle. The potential for these shards to become projectiles and/or anything coming in contact with the dash causing the dash to freely break apart into hundreds of knife-like blades and causing injury, is imminent. We have made giant strides in vehicle occupant safety by requiring shatter proof glass, requiring occupants to use seatbelts, etc. . Now we are facing other dilemmas where manufacturers have introduced materials in the manufacture of vehicles which may negate those safety progressive innovation government agencies have worked so hard to implement. Although my current concern may be preventive in nature I believe any reasonable and prudent person can easily deduce the potential for grave harm which may befall the consumer under the right circumstances. The Dodge dashboard represents a clear and present danger to the occupants of these vehicles.

Dash on my 2001 Dodge ram quad cab is falling into chunks and they have fallen into my tilt steering causing ignition wires to come loose causing the engine and all systems to fail ! near collisions have been on many occasions. Presenting danger to myself and all on roadway! I have contacted Chrysler and they wont do a thing. I have been in contact with hundreds of other owners of the same truck they have the same issues. The contact stated while driving with the windows opened, the top of the dashboard suddenly flew up and into the contact's face, obstructing his view of the roadway. The dash board of my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 is falling apart. There has been no abuse to what so ever but now I have a giant holes in it and its cracking all over the place. When I took it to the dealer ship they told me that if I want it fixed its gonna cost me almost $3000 (for parts and labor). I've already cut myself on a piece of sharp broken plastic so it very well could hurt someone. Something needs to be done!.

The dashboard on my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 has not just cracked, but broken into jagged pieces. I have never used any type of chemicals or polishes on the dashboard, and it still just cracked into pieces.

The dealer advised there was no recall for the failure and any repairs would be at the owner's expense. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 62,000.

The panel on the drivers side (with the handle) broke when using it to assist myself into truck which caused me to fall out the truck. There is no other handle to use to get into truck. I was told by dealer that this is not what the handle is to be used for. I'm sure the passenger side is ready to break too. Part number I replaced was 5gr29tl2ag.

Dash cover has self destructed into many jagged and broken pieces. I have had pieces drop into the dash and my biggest concern is that in event of an accident this will come loose with impact or be propelled by the deployment of the airbags and become missiles inside of the vehicle.

The dash board on my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 is cracking in multiple places. I've called every Dodge dealer in town, and I've been told that neither they nor Dodge will take care of this.

Ii own a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500,and my complaint is my dashboard is starting to fall apart. My issue is that the parts that are breaking off may cause an electrical short,due to the plastic falling into my electrical compartment. I am also concern it may even spark an electrical fire while I'm driving. The dash board has shattered and fallen into the vehicle. Pieces of the dash fly out at you when you turn the fan on. The pieces of the dash are allover the floor and get into everything. If we ere to be in an accident the air bags would come straight out the top and hit the windshield. The dash board provides no support to the vehicle and would not help anyone in the front seat if they were to be in an accident. .

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 and the dash is busting into pieces. Dodge needs to fix this because it is a safety hazard. I have a 4yr old and a 2 yr old grandkids and don't want them or me to get hit with pieces of the dash.

I have a 2001 Dodge ram the dashboard is falling apart there is a defect in the pigment used to make this and other years plastics researching a lot I noticed this is a major problem!!!!!for alot of people this matter needs immediate attention when I hit a bump its like its going to shatter like glass wont be good driving down road and getting plastic shards in mine and passengers eyes!!!!.

I have a 2003 1500 Dodge ram the dash board started with a small crack and then within a few months it became a very large crack. Also the driver's side grip handle has completely pulled off.
