Vehicle stalled while reversing into a parking spot. Barely started. Stalled a few seconds later after completing the reverse into parking spot. Barely started again. Got on the road and driving fine a few hundred feet, vehicle stalled almost ran into a group of parked vehicles. Barely started again. Made it to the highway to go home and while driving at just under 55mph limit vehicle stalls in the passing lane. Almost caused a wreck with several vehicles including a semi. Didn't start for a few minutes. Vehicle stuttered to start and barely turned over. After it started I sat there and watched the tachometer, it would, without myself touching or doing anything, idle then jump a little and dip a little over and over. There seems to be no certain situation or reasoning for when, where or why it would stall, complete randomness! highway driving, slow stop and go city driving, reversing, it seems to do it completely randomly and unexpectedly but always while moving one direction or the other. Straight line, turning, fast, slow, didn't make a difference. Finally was able to get off the highway, came into town and I was able to stop at all the lights and go but then out of no where again doing close to the 35mph limit it stalls again and this time I was at a 6 way intersection and almost hit another moving vehicle. My family will not be riding in this vehicle again until something is done! this is not normal or safe! not for me or anyone else on the roadway! I have no clue as to what the issue could be except that it's the manufacturers issue. It doesn't make any since. Vehicle has never been wrecked, above average maintenance intervals, completely maintained but this is something more than regular wear and tear as one would say. Not safe at all!! could have killed myself, my family or someone else with this problem!! needs attention ASAP! extremely unsafe!.

Vehicle has stalled multiple times while driving or stopped at a stop light without warning. "accessory power" remains on so lights, power steering etc. The first two times it happened I was at a stop light and had to place the car in park to restart the vehicle which took multiple attempts until the vehicle would remain running. Today the vehicle stalled while coming off of a highway, I had to pull over multiple times to restart the vehicle when ever I took my foot off the gas as the vehicle would stall. I barely made it to work. I am wondering why there is not a recall on the vehicle for this issue as Ford did recall the 2017 Edge for similar problems.

Random stalling. Usually when slowing down. Dashboard lights up all kinds of warnings. No codes. Shift is locked in park and can not move vehicle. Always able to restart without issue after some delay. Seems to help to unconnect positive battery terminal and drain charge.

Power loss driving down road . Almost caused a bad accident, stalled in middle of road had to turn car off and back on . This has happened 3 times no error code is coming on . A tool symbol flashes until you restart car .
Happens every time I brake. Hitting the brake to stop engine shakes violently as I come to a stop. In addition to violent engine shaking the car is thrusting forward. I have to put my foot harder on the brake not to hit the vehicle in front of me. I will have to throw it in neutral to stop the shaking. In neutral the engine revs. When traffic begins to move I have to put it back in drive and hit the gas but then it lags severely. It won't go anywhere for multiple seconds before it finally takes off. That literally happens everytime I stop and go. If you are in park and have your foot on the brake too long before putting in a gear it stalls out. I have taken it to the Ford dealership and opened a case with Ford corporation who both deemed the vehicle unsafe, but neither want to take care of the issue. This issue has been going on for months. I've taken it to the Ford dealership twice and Ford has denied to assist with getting it fixed twice. There are so many unsafe 2017 Ford Edge transmissions. I wish they would have to pay for this. It's very scary to drive. My documents are in the Ford computer system. They say the whole transmission locks up and rhe whole transmission needs replaced. I've almost been hit so many times pulling out because the car doesn't go.

At approximately 53,000 miles, 2. 0l i4 ecoboost engine needed to be replaced due to coolant leek into block - #2 cylinder failure. Although cost of repairs were covered under warranty, it took a lot of effort to get this all accomplished. Bought this car brand new for $40,000 and have had all maintenance meticulously completed at local dealership (where I purchased the vehicle). Worried now about the durability of the installed replacement engine. That engine now has nearly 20,000 miles on it and is out of warranty.
My 2013 Ford Edge randomly stalls doesn't matter if I'm turning going slow or straight and going fast. The wrench light will show up. I usually stop, shut it down and restart it. It's pretty frightening. I brought it to the repair shop and they said it might be the throttle bottle. Got that cleaned up which was to dirty and still stalling.

The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63000. Ah.
Tl the contact's daughter owns a 2013 Ford Edge. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service warning indicator illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 3 attempts. The vehicle resumed normal operation, but was towed by the insurance company to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed that the auto throttle body failed and needed to replaced. The independent mechanic cleaned the auto throttle body, but the failure recurred. Ford of clermont (1101 east, w hwy 50, clermont, FL 34711, (352) 394-6161) stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. Stalls and won't accelerate while going down the road. Just idles real rough. Can only coast to a stop. Can't steer. Wrench comes on the display. Everything I have read said it is probably the throttle body. Has less than 40,000 miles.

Driving 60mph on highway and car without warning lost power and stalled. On freeway. Very dangerous, a semi had to swerve to avoid me. Put car in park and after a few minutes the card started back up and drove without problems. This has happened three times without warning and after a bit of time starts back up and drives fine.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not able to restart and was towed to darcars Ford (9020 lanham severn rd, lanham, MD 20706, (301) 459-1100). When the ac is running, the car will stall out. It has happened in traffic on the high way and surburban streets. When idle and ignition is turned off then on again, the vehicle will not start. After approx. 35-55 minutes the car will then start. Finally, it is happening after longer periods of time. I was parked in a lot for several hours, when I went to start it the car would not turn over. I had to have it towed to my house where it did start again 1. 5 hours later. I fear for my children's lives.

I took a left turn to get onto the interstate on 7/30/18 at 7:45 am. When I started to accelerate to merge onto interstate without warning my car stalled and I was not able to accelerate. I was able to pull over thankfully and turn my emergency lights on. My car started to "jump" and was basically stalling out. I turned the car off and then after 5 minutes I was able to turn the car back on and it ran fine. I brought the car to my local Ford dealership and they kept it for two days. They tried to recreate the issue but were unable to and said they could not read the error on the computer because it had been "wiped" out when I restarted my car. They told me to come back when the car stalls again. I feel very unsafe driving a car that can stall out and lose power at any minute. I drive a 24 mile bridge with no shoulders daily and interstates. I do not feel safe driving my son around in this car. Ford will not do anything for me until the car stalls again. They told me not to turn it off and "limp" it to the dealership(drive it slowly).
2009 Ford Edge sel. Consumer writes with regards to vehicle stalling, brakes and steering wheel locked up in the middle of an intersection. Consumer wrote to Ford, wants financial assistance repairing the vehicle.
I own a 2011 Ford Edge limited with a 3. 5l, 6 cylinder engine. The vehicle has been faithfully maintained since I purchased it at ~30,000 miles. On 5/25/2018 while driving out-of-state and with approximately 120,000 miles the vehicle began exhibiting symptoms of stalling at stops and while parking; there were no warning lights or indications of trouble. Pulling off the road I inspected the automatic transmission fluid first, since that seemed the most-likely culprit. During this check I overheard a lot of noise as hot coolant was being ejected into the coolant overflow reservoir and it was while the car was parked that the overheat indicator first sounded. After shutting off the engine I noticed water on the pavement under the vehicle. I arranged for the vehicle to be towed to a Ford dealership where it was determined the coolant pump had failed. Though completely without symptoms until the final few minutes, because the pump is driven by the engine's timing chain, enough damage had been done that a significant amount of coolant had entered the engine. The engine would start, but pressures in cylinders 2 and 4 were compromised and unknown other damage had occurred. The Ford service advised that the pump replacement would cost on the order of $2,000 and that life-expectancy for the part was 150,000 miles - two numbers that seem incongruous by themselves for a maintenance item. In addition, the absence of a cooling system warning facilitated driving the vehicle while catastrophic damage was caused to the engine.
Vehicle stalls during operation. This has occurred approximately 6 times in the last 60 days. It goes into limp mode showing " awd off" and the "wrench" icon. Contacted Ford concerning the customer satisfaction program 16b23 related to this but was denied coverage. The vehicle sat at the dealership for three days without them being able to repeat the issue. The problem will reset when the vehicle is turned off, and no history is captured. The code that we just discovered during an episode is a p2111 code acquired by a can buss reader as it happened in traffic in motion on a city street. Pulled to the side of the road and turned it off and it reset. This is dangerous ! my grandchildren ride in this vehicle. This vehicle has less than 55k miles since new. It's frustrating to know that Ford is aware of the issue and chooses to refuse the problem until someone is injured or killed.
Car stalls after slowing, almost stopped on a city street. This has happened four (4) times over the last few weeks. After coasting to the side of the road and turning ignition off, car restarts and resumes normal operation.
While driving the vehicle stalls numerous times without warning and you lose all control.
While driving down the road and approaching a stop sign or red light the vehicle stalls and losses all power, no steering, brakes are hard to apply. This is extremely scary in traffic.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle shook, the engine indicator illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. Sunnydale Ford in sunnydale, California was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
The truck suddenly stalls out, u press the accelerator and the truck doesn't pick up speed, I turn the ignition on and it doesn't start, it cuts off in the mist of driving and turning. . . Very dangerous there should be a recall and it should not expire I have my children in the car with me!!!!.
Engine came on and vehicle slows down or stalls when driving. Dealer diagnosed problem was throttle body #at4z-9e926-b and replaced it at a cost of $333. 23. Dealer and georgina at Ford customer service stated no warranty or "customer satisfaction program" coverage for cost. Problem is same as Ford escape covered in program.
Car bucked and was stalling while making a left hand turn. Vehicle would not start, eventually it started was to bring the car to Ford, car took about 10 tries to start then stalled. Car was towed to Ford, started there and they have not been able to duplicate (tow driver was unable to start vehicle). I have about 4 videos of the issue when it would not start, also have pictures. Dealer had the car for about 10 days, they said they have another vehicle in for service doing the same thing. (this is after reporting one issue where the car lost power while driving at approx 35 mph dealer was unable to duplicate the issue, sent me home with the vehicle. ).

Throttle body suspected: 2011 Ford 3. 5l Edge decelerating and stalling at random. Vehicle stranded in middle of roadway until pushed to side of the road. Turning vehicle off then back on corrects issue until the next random event. This has happened 4 times with this vehicle.
While driving on the highway (doing 70 mph) my vehicle randomly stalled out. I was forced to coast to a stop, pull over, and turn my car off and turn it back on to begin driving again. It later happened an hour later at a stop light while making a left hand turn and then again at the next light on the road. After looking up possible problems, it was found that countless others with the same vehicle have the same stalling problem while driving. This creates a serious and dangerous risk for drivers on the road. I have an appointment to have the Ford dealership look at my vehicle, however from others who have spoken on their experiences with the same problem, the dealership states that they cannot "recreate the problem". Thus sending the customer on their way stating that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Just 1 of the many forums where others voice the same problem. . Read more...

Stopped at a red light in 2016 Ford Edge. When light turned green, attempted to make left turn. Vehicle would not accelerate through the intersection and appeared to stall. Turned vehicle off, restarted and again vehicle would not accelerate. With vehicle barely moving, was able to get out of way of three lanes of oncoming traffic but now stuck in the middle of the intersection. When traffic cleared, was able to make left turn and crawled at about 2-3mph with hazard lights on. At this time, wrench yellow warning light was displayed. Drove at that extremely slow speed until reached the left turn lane at the next intersection where could safely pull over and park. Tried several times to restart but continued to receive wrench warning light. That was then replaced with a check engine yellow warning light. Vehicle would still not accelerate. Vehicle was towed to dealer. An eec test was run and had code p2111. The throttle body was replaced with part at4z-9e926-b. This was under warranty since just 17,276 miles on the vehicle. It is unnerving when gas pedal could be pushed all the way to the floor and still barely move. This incident was very scary and fortunate vehicle was not hit and there were no injuries.
