I received a check engine light at approximately 83,300 miles while driving at approximately 30mph for half a mile. Diagnostic trouble code p0303 was shown and coolant was observed in the cylinder by the auto repair shop. New engine recommended by repair shop referring to TSB 19-2346.

I purchased a new Ford Edge directly from dealership in 2016. I have maintained the vehicle extremely well. Around 95,000 my check engine light came on for a few days then went off for a week or so. When it came back on again, around 98,000 I called to make an appointment. They couldn't get me in for about a week. When I took the vehicle in it had 101,000. They told me I have a cylinder head coolant intrusion because of a small crack. They recommend a long block engine repair for $8000. They said this is a known problem with the Ford ecoboost engines. I see there's 100's of complaints online for the same issue. Contacted Ford and they said there's nothing they can do to help. A car that's 3 1/2 years old should not need a new engine. This is a known Ford engine defect that they are not standing behind.

2018 model w/ 2. 0l engine. Car starting & idling was sluggish. Check engine light was on. Took to Ford for troubleshooting. Evaluation revealed coolant in cylinder. Car has 34,500 miles on it. New engine was required. Engines should never need replaced. Seems like many others are having issues with engines on this make & model. Ford should replace these engines before warranty expire as they are appear problematic.

My rear/backup camera is inoperative and doesn't engage properly. Also, my "check engine light" comes on ( and goes off) periodically; code "402" appears {emissions} issue!??.

Turned vehicle on from stationary position ,check engine light came on, vehicle sputtering to stay on. Diagnosed with cylinder 1 misfire an undetermined amount of times. Took vehicle to local dealership. Dealership reported that anti-freeze was leaking into the engine and the engine needed to be replaced. Replaced engine under warranty at 75,000 miles. Picked up vehicle from dealership, while driving vehicle cut off at 60 miles an hour and then turned back on. Vehicle back at dealer by tow truck (11/3/2020).

2017 Ford Edge with the 2. 0l engine failed at 73,143 miles due to coolant in the cylinders. Original code was a p0301 for miss in cylinder number one. Replaced plugs and coils with oe from dealer and problem persisted. Check engine light on and engine vibration occurred while running at idle. There was no smoke ever from the exhaust. Took the vehicle to the Ford dealer and they noted low coolant even though there was never an overheat issue, check engine light or code stored. Dealer referenced TSB 19-2346 and said engine would have to be replaced and since there was no recall Ford would assume zero cost. Still owing money on the car there was no other option other than replace the engine at a cost of $7000. Given what appears to be the frequency of this specific failure coupled with the wide range of miles when it occurs Ford should step up and at least partner with owners to help with the cost of engine replacement. This issue could cause the vehicle to stall which could lead to an accident or fatality depending upon when the engine stalled or went into limp mode.

Purchased this vehicle used on July 20, 2020 with 46,054 miles. On August 3, 2020, check engine light illuminated, p0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected. Had ignition coil and plug replaced on August 6, 2020, mileage out, 46,315. On August 16, 2020 at 46,530 miles, same code came up, dealer performed a software update on the ecu on August 20, 2020. On September 18, check engine light again, same p0303 code at 46,900 miles. Dealer now states that I need a whole new engine. This is the 2. 0l engine where many people are having the same issue, coolant seeping into the cylinder(s).

Louis, mo 63139, who diagnosed that the engine long block was defective and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 63,000.

My 2017 Ford Edge 2. 0l ecoboost, check engine light came on with code of p0302, after changing the spark plugs and coil packs, finally took it to our local dealership, banner Ford in mandeville, la and after a diagnostic was found to have "coolant intrusion on cylinder #2, and was told that Ford would not sell the parts to repair the engine, but that the entire engine had to be replaced because Ford had changed the design on the engine and gaskets. This should be a recall, not a TSB, as I have found multiple complaints and they all have contacted Ford with the same results, so Ford is well aware of this issue, complaints go back as far as 2015 and all are around the 65k to 70k mile mark. Ford knows about this by redesigning the engines and the gaskets. I am looking at an $8500 engine replacement bill because I am out-of-warranty.

At 35,000 miles, when starting and then while running car started hesitating and check engine light came on. Initially dealer reported it was a spark plug and they replaced it only to have the same issue arise two days later. Back at the dealer an analysis showed that a leak in the cooling system caused fluid to enter into the 3rd cylinder which then cracked the engine. 7 weeks later a new engine was replaced. Only guaranteed for 1 year and original cause of issue (design flaw) not corrected so likely to happen again when out of warranty. Known technical service bulletin on this issue with numerous engine failures and re-failures including vehicle stopping when driving.

First the car started trembling when turning on and loosing power , it continues to get worse , check engine light came on I took it to get checked and it was off. Then eventually it came on flashing, I left it in place to get checked . The mechanic told me it was not worth it to fix it , it was damaged beyond repairable . I'm not exactly sure what happened but I have the report .

My 2015 forrd Edge has only 16,500 miles on it as I only use it on occasion. This week the powertrain symbol came on and a few minutes later the check engine light came on!! I was driving on the freeway when this occurred.

Engine: 2. 0 ecoboost mileage: 61800 check engine light came on, error p0302 showed up. Oem spark plugs are placed in, along with a set of new coil packs. Cel was still on, ran a compression test and saw coolant being squirted out of cyl 2, signifying either a cracked head, or blown head gasket. Contacted Ford, who referred me to the local dealer, went into dealer and was quoted $200 for just the "diagnostic. " made me aware that Ford may require a tear down before even extending assistance in the repair. Since vehicle was out of warranty period I was quoted $4400 for tear down. Vehicle was not repaired.

I bought this car at 58k, in 2019 I took it into Ford when a check engine light came up. Ford told me it was coolant intrusion in the cylinder and it would be a 7k repair.

My check engine light came on and when we attempted to repair the injectors as it stated with the error code, it didn't work, then I started losing coolant and we took the car into Ford. Ford now tells me the motor is bad and I need to have it replaced and it will cost $7600!.

Have a 2016 Ford Edge at about 64,00 miles my check engine light kept coming on and off, car was also sputtering when I started it and sounds like it will stall. I keep having to refill coolant. Took it to 3 different dealers who all said a code of p0302 they all told me it was a manufacture defect of the coolant part not being flush on the engine. I filed a complaint through Ford who has done nothing for me because I'm out of the manufacturing warranty. The service manager informed me several cars all having the same issue but under mileage for warranty. Car isn't even paid off and feel like I was sold a lemon, now I need a new engine and can't afford one! wish Ford would take better care of their customers!!! my engine could blow!!!!!I can't even get my car serviced until December 30th because dealership has so many cars with the same problem. I have contacted a lemon law lawyer in the hopes they can do something for me.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the brakes pad and rotors but the failure continued to occur. Later the vehicle the check engine light would illuminate and the vehicle would sometimes stall. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic who diagnosed that the brake booster was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 135,000. Jft.

Car running rough using twice as much gas as usual check engine light blinking code reader said misfire cylinder 1 misfire cylinder 4 this is not the first time or the second it is now the third time that all 6 ignition coils and spark plugs have been replaced and the brain for the second time because it shuts off while you're driving with no morning and the parts all together $900 for a brain $86 for each ignition coil plus the spark plugs plus the labor involved now the vehicle got so hot it needs catalytic converters won't pass a smog.

2018 Ford Edge with 25,000 miles, took it to the dealer with a check engine light and the service dept told me the engine is defective and will need to be replaced.

Check engine light came on. Multiple misfires while stationary and while driving. Codes read p0302-misfire on cylinder 2 and p0316- oasis found TSB. Replaced all spark plugs and cylinder 2. Check engine light went off and turned back on the next day and read the same codes. Ford says this was from a design flaw but hasn't been recalled, but the new motors have been redesigned. I would have to purchase a new long block and service for $7000 when this should have been recalled due to how many it has affected.

Vehicle was taken in for a check engine light on 3/11/2019 in was in a tsp status with Ford that turned into a recall. The recall has not been successfully repaired to this date and has been into the service center 10 times. It is currently there again. Ford has made all of the repairs under warranty. However, a dangerous issue persists with the engine. The vehicle cannot be driven and Fords master mechanics have not solved the issues. The vehicle cannot be driven because it presents a very clear hazard for the occupants as well as the public. The engine looses coolant rapidly with Ford not being able to determine when the coolant goes. The engine seizes and causes you to have to immediately stop.

Coolant is getting into cylinders and causing the engine to run rough and burn coolant as well as frying the coils started less than a year after having the vehicle but didn't know it was happening. Car doesn't over heat but check engine light comes on for a misfire in whichever cylinder and low coolant.

Ford has known about a defective engine control module -ebc- going bad on a lot of Ford Edges as I have read causing the coil assembly and spark plugs having to be replaced my son in colledge in st louis mo. On April 21st started missing and slowing and finally died at an intersection (as so many others I have read about done the same thing) had to be towed causing $3000. 00 in repairs came home on April 27th 2018 and check engine light came on again had to take it to Ford dealer was told when the engine control module went bad it allowed raw gas into the catalytic converters causeing them to have to be replaced another $2690. 00 in repairs. A total of approximately $5690. 00 in repairs because Ford chose not to have a recall. The car was going about 60mph started vibrating, losing speed, rpm went crazy, and continued to lose power and shake when it died it shook while in parkand had a bad smell would not crank after that in the middle of an intersection in saint louis, mo.

My engine turned off while I was driving. I was slowing to a stop from 55mph to approx. 20mph to go straight at a red light. The light turned green before I came to a stop. When I pressed the gas to accelerate the engine turned off and all systems in the car did as well including power steering. I had no control of the car as it slowed to almost a stop in the middle of the intersection on a green light. I was luckily to able to coast at approx. 5pmh to the end of the intersection before it completely stopped and the car behind me didn't hit me, they went around. I had to get help pushing it to the side of the road after that to avoid an accident since it stopped in the road. When the engine failed the dash lit up with a picture of the engine and said to check power to engine. There was no warning beforehand. I do all my oil changes and regular maintenance. There was no check engine light or any other indicator that something would have been wrong. After this incident and getting the car home it now has a check engine light and won't run correctly. We changed the battery due to the wording about engine power and that didn't help. What I am most concerned and upset about is after this happened we looked the problem up online and it is has happened to hundreds of other people. If any other problems happened that many times that caused injuries this would be a recall and corrected immediately. But because out of luck I was on a rural 1 stop light road and no cars hit me as my vehicle completely failed on me, it isn't. I've received no notices and bought it used from a dealer. I commute to work every day and I am so thankful this wasn't on a work day on the freeway where it would have caused me to completely stop. Or dropping off my kids to school. I am honestly scared to get it 'fixed' and it happen again with no warning. Or put my kids in a car that puts us in danger.

The vehicle check engine light pressure is coming on and just received a full or change. The fuel inlet light is coming on and on a full tank. The recalls don't show on my vechile and I'm concerned as I have 4 children. That safety of my purchase vehicle is not safe from me or my family.

When stepping on the gas pedal the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle would not die but would not move. The check engine light came on. This happened on multiple occasions once in highway traffic and once at a busy intersection. The dealer told me it was a known problem and that there was nothing I could do to cause the problem or prevent it. Dealer replaced the throttle body assembly for $524. 00.

While driving, the check engine light illuminates along with a sudden loss of power indicating "limp" mode has been entered. Power off the car followed by restart seems to clear the code and allow normal operation with good engine power. Electronic throttle body seems to be the culprit. This is a rather dangerous occurrence when driving on busy, crowded streets and freeways. This has happened multiple times. Most recent is 24 September 2017.

The brakes have failed on me 3 times now, the dealership claims the brake booster was bad and replaced it the first time, the second time claims it was a bad piston inside the break booster. The brakes failed once when a car pulled out in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes, the second time was driving normally and the third today after the front tires lost traction in wet grass. This makes it to were you have to push the peddle all the way to the floor and hope the car comes to a stop. The check engine light comes on every time you accelerate to hard (like entering an interstate) then will go away after a few days. The code that pops up for it is turbo/super charger under boost. This makes the car really sluggish and hard to get up to speed.
