2 Cooling Fan problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

First of all the first problem I encountered with my vehicle was the passenger wheel barring was defected and started making a bad noise so took it to the shop and the mechanic said lucky I did because is was about to break and cause my wheel to come off going down the road. After that I noticed that my engine would run hot if I sat still in the parking lot just running even with the ac off. I had no warning that anything was wrong. I turned my car off and it didn't seem to do it anymore until we started getting this really hot weather this may, me and my family was going in to town to grab a bite to eat when (without any warning) my car starts sputtering as if I put bad gas in it. My husband instructed me to pull over and take a look and low and behold my car has been running hot just after driving only 10 minutes. He pulled the dipstick and oil is milky and oil was all in the water resivour. My car had over heated without any warning that anything was wrong and blown heat gasket and cracked heads. My engine shot. We took it to the shop where I had to purchase a new engine and after the mechanic ran a diagnostics test on my car he said that the fan control module was faulty which did not allow my cooling fans to come on at all and my system never alerted me either. We replaced cooling fans along with module. Everything seems fine after 2,000 dollars later. Fyi never rely on your information screen to tell you if your running hot, go to settings and keep your screen on the temp gauge at all times so you will know for yourself how cool your engine is running. I would be nice after all the complaints Ford has received about these piece of crap cooling fans that they will just suck it up and do the recall. We are hard working americans and dont deserve this crap. We support Ford an american car manufacturer and expect the same respect!!.

4 Cooling Fan problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/01/2016

I purchased a 2015 Ford Edge titanium on April 23, 2015. Around February 2016, I began noticing and hearing the vehicle make a loud noise (raring up of the engine} when in the park position or when driving. The noise appears louder when in the park position. I took the vehicle to the Ford dealership where I purchased it to have it inspected and was informed it was normal for the vehicle to do that. The noise became worse so I took the vehicle back again. On March 3, 2016, I was then informed it was the cooling fan. The cooling fan was supposedly replaced. However, today the vehicle is doing the same thing. To hopefully get a solution to this problem I filed a complaint with Ford motor company. I was referred to the person over my district and have followed their recommendations but still to no avail. After every service visit I"m being told they can't find anything wrong and that the noise is normal. I requested for a Ford technician to come out and inspect the vehicle on June 8, 2016. As of today, June 25, 2016, I am still waiting to have my vehicle inspected by a Ford technician. I have videos of the vehicle making the same noise before the cooling fan was replaced and after it was replaced. I have also shared both videos with Ford and the dealership's service supervisor. I am afraid each time I drive the vehicle because I don't know if it will blow up or not because the noise is just that loud. I just want the vehicle repaired.

6 Cooling Fan problem of the 2007 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/18/2013

January 18, 2013, in the middle of winter, drove 2007 Ford Edge, with 40,466 miles, to an auto repair shop because the heater & defroster were not working. The auto repair shop flushed the coolant and the heater core and installed new coolant because the heater core was clogged with metal debris. Eight months later, September 22, 2013 and 57,000 miles, same problem, the heater & defroster were not working. Five days later, returned the vehicle to auto repair shop because of strong coolant smell and the engine fans were turning off and on. This time, the shop determined the heater core is clogged and needs to be replaced. In addition, the auto repair shop discovered Ford¿s TSB 09m04s1. This Ford TSB, issued 3/31/2010, guarantees the following: "owners of affected vehicles are entitled to a cooling system flush and refill and a warranty extension on the heater core to six years or 105,000 miles from four years or 50,000 miles. Affected vehicles may have poor heater performance. " Ford motor CO acknowledges a manufacturer's defect; however, after three escalated demand letters and three escalated demand phone calls, Ford motor CO refuses to honor their warranty and make the $2600 in necessary repairs to get the 2007 Ford Edge with 57,000 miles back on the road because, Ford says, the warranty expired on may 1, 2013.

7 Cooling Fan problem of the 2009 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/18/2012

2009 Ford Edge -- major issue-- Ford needs to cover costs--- I was driving my 2009 Ford Edge sel approx. 4 miles. Once I rolled to a stop at a traffic light the car began to idle and then stalled. No warning lights. . I started the engine and pressed the gas (no acceleration). The engine ran at around 1-2k rpm. I pressed the gas again, no acceleration. I shut off the car called aaa for a tow. I started the car once more to check the gauges, no service lights. When I checked the other indicators it stated, car temp -- ok, oil pressure - ok, etc. . . All ok. . No warning lights, no issues. The car was in about 1. 5 months ago for oil, 3-4 months for service. About 8-9 months ago, moroone Ford of margate (under warranty) fixed an electrical issue (where no lights were showing) they claimed it was a Ford issue and they replaced it (no cost). Well now this happened and moroone Ford of margate said, "blown engine, $7,700 to replace + $400 for cooling fan. " they said the cooling fan broke (no warning) and the engine blew. No warning, lights, etc. . . When I looked under the hood waiting for aaa (no smoke, no smell. . . Yet a blown engine (full replacement). . . I will fight this because I believe this is an electrical issue that they tried to fix prior and this happened again. I also don't believe the engine was destroyed. Hopefully the government and Ford will research and cover the repairs / replacement. No warning lights oil temp -- ok oil pressure -- ok car idled and stalled. . . Approx. Miles 82,000.
