March 2022. 110,000 miles repair of flex plate, paid $5500 then was a recall in October 2022. However the dealer, heritage Ford in modesto California, replaced the eco boost 2. 0 engine block with a known defective block. Previous TSB's 19-2208, 19-2346 in regards to coolant intrusion. Dealer failed to install corrected or updated block. Moreover, it's well known that the eco boost 2. 0 engine block was defective due to poor design. Ford has declined to honor this mistake, case cxh-02229014. Over 3 plus years Ford has known that his 2. 0 eco boost engine block is defective and only issues TSB's. This should be. A recall due to possible engine failure upon driving which could cause an accident or fire. Thank you.

While on the freeway, my had complete engine failure and I had less then 20 seconds to pull over to the shoulder however everything locked up and I almost caused an accident. I let the car sit for 30 seconds and restarted the car. I took it to get looked at by 2 different service centers and they didnt find a problem. I drove it again, and it happened 3 times on the freeway from san diego to orange county. I had my car towed, did my own research and learned this is an ongoing problem with Ford Edges for my specific year. The manufacturer is not covering it. I am selling this car because I am fearful for my life and my baby girl that was in the car with me.

Our 2010 Ford Edge in the past few years has stalled after making a slow turn on 4 separate occasions. During the first 3 occurances the we could the car immediately. The last occurance was last Friday after coming out of a slow turn the car lost all functionality and I was able to roll to the side of the road where it would not start again and it had to be towed. When it got to the auto shop it started again and the mechanic could not recreate the problem or find a problem with their computer diagnostics. Needless to say the unexplained engine failure was not fixed. I am afraid to drive the vehicle anymore because of the potential of a serious accident resulting in injury or death.

Upon picking my car up from the dealer ship after having a repair done for a recall my car experienced catastrophic engine failure. The dealership will not replace damaged parts. Note that the dealer ship retained my car for about eight months. I have contacted Ford directly to see if they can help.

2 weeks after I bought my Edge I was attempting to parallel park and when my engine failure light flashed and my car just turned off. I have a push button start so I had to press the brake and attempt to turn the car on again. I took it to the dealership and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So again in April and again a week ago once when I was driving on a normal street (45 mph) and while I was driving down the freeway (75 mph) my car just turned off and stated engine failure low oil. The 2nd time it happened my car had 4,000 miles on it and 5,000 miles the 3rd time. I told the dealership my issues and they told me they couldn't find the problem after having my car for just 24 hours. Your right, it's an intermittent issue so it's not just going to happen while you took my car and drove it 100 miles. None the less I shouldn't have to be dealing with this in a vehicle I paid over 40k for. The owner of avis Ford, [xxx] told me it wasn't that big of a deal because it only happened 3 times in 5 months. My car turning off while driving is a huge deal and I could have died any of those times. Engine failures in a vehicle that is brand new is a huge deal. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Engine failed since new. Many trips to dealer ended in complete tear down. Blows smoke clouds on the highway.
