Engine Oil Leaking Problems of Ford Edge

Noticed substance in garage coming from truck that was oily. Brought to my service center and it was concluded that there is an oil leak from the engine oil pan rtv seal. Apparently this is due to a lack of rtv adhesion. How is this not a recall? this is a major repair and expensive at that. I just want to understand more as this affects more than just my model and year Ford vehicle.

I was driving my vehicle on my way home from work on a country road. The vehicle randomly began to lose power and wouldn't gain much speed. I was trying to get it parked in at least a driveway or place to sit safely in case something happened. There were cars behind me , the car started smoking really bad from the hood. Before I had time to get somewhere safely, the car shut off and started going in reverse. I had to slam on my emergency break and was stuck there until I had help from a tow truck to tow it. The car wouldn't turn on or move so I was stuck on this hill and had people from their house guide traffic until hell came. The car didn't give me any warnings or issues prior to this at all. I haven't had the vehicle for more than 2 years and have always taken care of everything and have kept up on the maintenance of it. The engine is blown and was told the antifreeze leaked into the oil due to the engine blowing. I have still been making my monthly payment on this vehicle. I have been carless for months now and would really appreciate Ford taking the action into doing what's right for their customers that keep them going in business. I have researched this vehicle and am seeing a lot of problems with the same exact issue.

Leaking engine oil pan has been replaced twice and is scheduled for a 3rd replacement in less than 18 months, this is a problem for my home and the environment with this hazardous leaking problem.

Internal leak from oil valve/switch allowed fumes to leak into the car for months and months and exposed the driver to toxins; blood work revealed high levels of mtbs; symptoms include extreme exhaustion, vision and cognitive problems, balance issues itchy skin, and more. First, the fumes should never leak into the car, second, the Ford service department said it was ok to drive while they ordered a part, and it was not ok to drive because it was poisoning the driver. The car has now been fixed, the driver's recovery is ongoing.

The dealer diagnosed that the power transfer unit failed and needed replacement. The contact also stated that the vehicle started to leak oil ever since it was purchased in June of 2017. I bought a 2016 Edge sport in January and have had to take to the shop for the oil pan leaked 2 times in a month steering warning light came on for 1hr head liner had to be replaced brake lights filled with water, bumper had to be replaced because of a hole from factory. I asked for another car they said no I asked for my money back and they said no so I have a car with 11000 miles that's in the shop every month and nothing I can do about it.

We noticed an oil like substance leaking from underneath the front end of the car. We took it to a Ford dealership and they told us it was the transfer case needed to be replaced. Not only is it a $1500 repair but it is a common problem happening to Ford Edge's years 2007 - 2011. Sounds to me like a recall should be made on this part. We caught ours early, so not sure what could've happened if we continued to drive ours around.
