Transmission Sensor Problems of Ford Edge

Driving, going up a hill, the car stopped accelerating and lost power going up. I almost got into an accident. The car doesn't accelerate and it has all the fluids and changed of oils. The car clunks and has a wrench. When I put into reverse it jump a very minimum acceleration. I'm afraid to drive it. I had to tow the car. The mechanic couldn't find the problem. He said he cleared up the computer and it was fine. Then I was driving on the highway and it happened again. No acceleration. Why Ford hasn't made this into a safety recall. I did my investigation and I believe it has to do with the transmission sensors. Please help me.

Transmission sensors are bad and vehicle has 80,000 miles.

Stopped at a light would not pull forward afterwards loud clunking noise, airbag light came on, service light came on, odometer went to zero, car would jerk while in gear but wouldn't move forward or reverse. I've done some research on this problem, hundreds of people are having the same problem with 2007 and 2008 Edge. With most being transmission sensor failure. Ford knows of this problem won't do anything about it.

1st occurrence: the vehicle's speedometer went to 0 and warning lights came on. As the vehicle slowed and I tried to accelerate out of traffic, the vehicle would not move. It seemed to be stuck in a high gear. I sat on the side of the road and was almost robbed while I was waiting on my husband to arrive for help. After my husband arrived and the car had been off for about 30 minutes, he started it and it drove like normal. 2nd occurrence: about 1 month later, the same thing happend with the vehicle, fortunately I was closer to home. My husband ran through the same process of allowing the car to cool off and restarting it. After some investigation online, this issue seems to be a common problem with the Ford Edge. It appears to be a pair of sensors, called the turbine sensor and transmission speed sensor. It also appears that these sensors cost about $800 to replace. If this is such a common problem, why has there not been a recall from Ford?.

I started off to work, going about 10mph pushed the brake for a stop sign and my car jerked forward. When trying to leave the stop sign my car was sluggish to take off and then shifted hard, wouldn't go over 30mph, engine reving high and loud. I pulled over, turned off the car and waited. . I made it to work with a sluggish car and no speed over 32mph. Took to three places to have scanned and everywhere says there's nothing wrong/no codes showing. Local dealership says a month before I can get in to be scanned there. After searching I am concerned that there has not been a recall for 2007 Ford Edge concerning the transmission selonoid or sensors?! this is a huge saftey issue and seem that it could be rather pricey since people have to dig around the transmission to find the issue because no codes are showing. . I need this fixed :(.
