1 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/19/2020

When parking the vehicle the shifter got stuck in park but the vehicle itself was stuck in neutral. Had to put on parking brake and get vehicle towed (09/20). Vehicle was fixed. Issues with electronics on shifter (10/19/20). Reversing out of driveway onto street. When I attempted to shift into drive the vehicle would not shift out of neutral. Coasted down the hill 500' and pulled over to the shoulder at intersection. Shifter would move but the indictor on the dash would not say it was out of neutral. I tried a few things before putting it into park which again locked up the shifter. Shifter was stuck in park but vehicle was in neutral. Had to have the vehicle towed again to Ford dealership. This time it was the shifter bushing fell apart. Waiting to see what happens next with this issue. Luckily it was only myself and not my children in the vehicle when I had to coast down the hill and left at an intersection.

3 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 06/30/2019

Transmission issues, slips, seems to get stuck between gears, constantly shifting, jerky starts, jerky stops, shifting is very obvious, always up and down alway in motion. Started noticing on backroads, brought it into krause Ford in woodstock GA. They had it a few days, said Ford thought it was bad gas, not bad gas, they did something, probably cleared memory. Ran again for a few days then started to degrade and to back to the same problems. Brought it back in sent them one of the incidents on this site. (8-15-2019) first time I brought it in in June they asked me to wait until late July (30th).

4 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

I can be driving down the highway set on cruise control and my vehicle will come up odometer failure a wrench light, and transmission light and several others come on no speedometer. If I come to a stop taking off the vehicle is stuck in high gear and will barely pick up any speed until it makes a hard loud shift. You can pull over and reset it but when you take off it is the same thing. This is very dangerous you don't know when it will happen and I have been in the middle lane on a highway before when it kicked out. This has been linked back to bad tss and oss sensors in the transmission they need to be recalled before it kills someone.

5 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/14/2017

Odo error data error while driving. Odometer stops working, wrench light turns on, then air bag light. Loss of power, transmission gets stuck in gear. You can't accelerate and have to cruise on to the right to pull over. Happened twice, once on the freeway. Code goes to the speed sensor which controls the transmission shifting. After you turn off your car and turn it on code resets however car is stuck in gear. After a few hard shifts finally goes back into gear. Ford dealership says common problem however can't figure out if its a harness or the sensors. Replacing sensors requires dropping the transmission.

6 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/01/2017

I have a 2008 Edge w/ 120k miles and once in a while, it gets stuck in the 1st gear. It did it to me twice in one month, and I notice it when I'm going down hill (like a parking garage). Once I'm out on the street, that's where it gets stuck in the first gear. I had to pull over turn off the Edge wait for about 1 minute and started it back up, and I like it resets the system cause it works fine after that.

7 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/30/2016

Same complaint as dozens of other 2008 Ford Edge owners. Odo error comes up, almost all warning lights come on, tach and speedometer go to zero and car is stuck in gear making is almost impossible to accelerate from a stop. This has happened several times but is starting to happen more frequently and usually on the highway. This is clearly a dangerous defect that Ford needs to address ASAP before people are seriously injured.

8 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/15/2016

My car has multiple warning lights come on all at the same time. My dash says odo system fail, then is says the tire pressure monitor fails, the wrench for transmission comes on, then the tire pressure symbol comes on and flashes, the air bag light comes on, and the check engine light comes on. Then my odometer goes to zero. If I slow down to a stop sign or something, I push the gas and the rpm's on my car go way up but my car hardly moves. Once I get going to a higher speed, the rpm's go down. . . It is almost like it is stuck in a high gear. Then when I put my car into drive after it was in park, my car jolts and makes a huge clanking noise. If I shut my car off and turn it back on, it makes a loud clanking noise but all my warning lights turn off except the check engine light. Then when I push the gas again, it is still barely moving and in high rpm's but it will randomly kick into whatever gear it needs to be in and make another loud clanking sound and run fine. This is very dangerous and I am not sure why it has not been recalled yet. This happened to me for the first time in the middle of a four way stop and I blocked the intersection and almost got hit by another car. This is eventually going to cause great harm or even death to someone.

9 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/20/2015

Same problems as all the other ones. On the expressway and odo light comes on along with a few others and car seems like it stuck in a higher gear and won't excels rate quickly, loud clunk from trans when shifted in and out of gear. Usually have to turn off car and restart a few times to come back to normal. It's obvious that Ford has an issue and I'm not taking it to the dealer and spend thousands of dollars for repairs that won't solve the issue. Altimately it sounds like a software issue and Ford won't recall till most of the vehicles are out of service as to save money. I have been a loyal Ford driver for years but this is definitely turning me to the competition.

10 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/14/2015

Most recent 8/14/2015, pulled out into traffic and the car lost power, but the engine was still running. Rpm's will go up, but the car will not move. Reverse works. Took it to auto zone, no codes will come up. When I bought it off the lot (9 months ago) it was working just fine and has been going down ever since. Since last November (11/2014) when I bought the car, when driving the cars speedometer will drop down to zero and a wrench light will come on with a few other lights and act like it is stuck in a high gear. After tuning the car completely off (key out of ignition and door opening and closing) and checking fluids I started the car back up and heard a loud clunk and when I put it into drive there was another clunk and after getting the car up to about 10mph (the car is still acting like its stuck in a high gear) there was another loud clunk and the transmission would catch and act like nothing happened. This process repeats ever single day unless I drive it with the over drive off, then it will still happen but about only twice a month. . Read more...

11 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 07/24/2015

Driving straight on freeway at 70 mph and the dash suddenly displays odo error. Wrench light, low tire pressure light, and air bag light come on. Speedometer shows 0 mph but tach still works. After I stop the car and try to take off again it has no pickup. Transmission seems to be stuck in 5th gear or overdrive. Tach goes up to 2500 rpm but vehicle barely moves. When I shift from park to drive or reverse the engine/transmission makes a horrible clunking noise that makes me think it will come out of the body. The only way I can get the car driveable again is to disconnect battery for a few minutes then reconnect. Everything resets and works but occurs again-sometimes a week later, sometimes a couple of months later.

12 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/12/2015

Was driving on freeway about to exit and transmission sounded as if it got stuck on 2nd gear. Engine sounded loud at high rpms and my speed dropped. I got the vehicle towed to my well trusted mechanic and he concluded that my transmission needs to be replace. Vehicle only has 65,500 miles.

13 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/15/2012

This has happened several times. The vehicle was moving forward and all of a sudden the air bag light & the check engine light came on & the display said "no odometer available" . When I came to a stop, the car would not move - it was like it was in neutral then all the sudden the transmission engaged with a loud clunk & the car moved & all the lights went out. A wrench appeared on the dashboard and the screen read odo error with dashes. I could not go. It was as if my car was stuck in neutral. Even after turning the car off and on several times it did not remedy the problem. It also was shifting hard from park to drive, etc.
