This engine is faulty. I purchased it and the cylinder cracked. This was diagnosed by the Ford dealer. The engine drove perfectly fine. Then I began having some hard shaking and jerking. The vehicle then overheated causing the check engine light to come on. This has been reported on other sites by multiple Ford owners.

I own a Ford Edge 2009 car had been over heating for little while. Air condition would work when driving when I come to a stop it would over heat. I would need to turn on the heat to allow it to cool back down. Had to replace the double fan assembly cost right at $600. 00.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While driving at an unknown speed, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to stop. The contact had to apply force to the brake pedal multiple times in order to stop the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that there was an increase in temperature displayed on the temperature gauge as well as smoke coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle overheated and stated that the brake booster and fan needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Was driving at 45 mph when the car suddenly overheated and in a matter of seconds it cracked the block. The dealership it was towed to couldn't even tell me how something like that could have happened. This car has been well taken care of. Needless to say. . . I had to buy a whole new engine for it. I don't think this was anything that I did that made this happen. Honestly I think it is something Ford should really look at if the service mechanics at a Ford dealership can't even tell me how it happened.
